Statewide Harm Reduction Expansion Logistics & Fulfillment Lead Associate (FT) Alameda, CA California State Director $42,000 - $45,000 with benefits package including 100% employer sponsored healthcare Full-time Hourly Non-Exempt (40 hrs/week)
Missions and Overview: NEXT Harm Reduction/NEXT Distro (NEXT) provides online and mail-based harm reduction resources. The platform nextdistro.org works to ensure that people who cannot access in-person syringe exchange programs or naloxone distribution can still receive harm reduction education, resources, support, and supplies. NEXT mails naloxone, syringes and safer injection supplies, fentanyl test strips, safer smoking supplies, safer sex supplies, and other harm reduction materials to program participants. Berkeley NEED is a collectively-run needle exchange program dedicated to reducing and preventing infectious diseases and other harm among the injection drug-using community. NEED offers free anonymous services in a participant-centered manner. NEED views supporting and improving the overall health and well being of people who use drugs as crucial public health work. NEXT Distro operates across the state of California through partnership with Berkeley NEED. The Logistics & Fulfillment Lead Associate will be an employee of Berkeley NEED, though will be housed within NEXT’s Alameda office to execute duties for the NEXT program statewide. This is an extremely fast paced and physically laborious position that will be responsible for packaging, mailing, record keeping, receiving of bulk supply orders, daily post office trips, and inventory management. This position is supervised by the California State Director, and receives supplemental support from the part-time Logistics & Fulfillment Support Associate and various per diem employees and program volunteers. There are no formal supervisory responsibilities for this position though leadership skills are an asset. As the Logistics & Fulfillment Lead Associate is the primary person responsible for critically essential shipping operations serving hundreds of people across the state of California, a high degree of commitment and reliability is required for this position.
