Project: Statewide Naloxone Expansion Position: Director of Online Resources and Advocacy Reports to: NEXT Harm Reduction Executive Director Salary: $48,000 - $56,000 Status: Full-time Exempt Mission The mission of the Grand Rapids Red Project is to improve health, reduce risk, and prevent HIV in the greater Grand Rapids metropolitan service area, including the 7 county region of West Michigan, and technical assistance across the state. The mission of NEXT Harm Reduction “NEXT” is to provide online and mail-based harm reduction resources to individuals who are unable to access in-person services. Through a partnership between NEXT and Grand Rapids Red Project, our collaborative will be hiring a Director of Online Resources and Advocacy to expand NEXT’s naloxone distribution services within the state of Michigan. This position will be hired as an employee of Grand Rapids Red Project and will be supervised remotely by NEXT’s Executive Director based in New York City. Overview of Position The Director of Online Resources and Advocacy will lead the expansion of NEXT Harm Reduction’s online and mail-based naloxone distribution within Michigan. A focus of their work will be to implement and evaluate strategies to reach people who use drugs and those who are most likely to respond to an opioid overdose with a specific focus on communities most affected by the drug war. This position is responsible for overseeing all program components with the primary goal of reducing opioid overdose fatalities across the state. This position blends program management with policy, evaluation, marketing, and community mobilization. The Director of Online Resources and Advocacy will enjoy a large amount of responsibility and autonomy. Responsibilities ● Point person for programmatic collaboration between Grand Rapids Red Project and NEXT Harm Reduction, act as liaison when necessary ● In partnership with stakeholders, develop and execute an outreach strategy to expand online and mail-based naloxone distribution to communities most at need of remote services, including the development of a Michigan racial equity strategy ● Create and execute targeted promotion and marketing activities to expand mail-based naloxone ● Lead stakeholder conversations on evaluation metrics; develop and execute evaluation strategy in partnership with NEXT, Grand Rapids Red Project leadership, and racial equity consultant ● Monitor program data for opportunities and trends including running periodic reports to evaluate program reach and inform programmatic or process changes to ensure that the program is reaching individuals with the highest need for naloxone
