NEXT Distro Position: Harm Reduction Content Manager Salary: $58,000 Full-time remote position with benefits package for individuals
Overview NEXT Distro (“NEXT”) is an online and mail-based harm reduction program. We mail free resources to people who use drugs (PWUD) living in areas with no existing in-person harm reduction programs. NEXT will be hiring a Harm Reduction Content Manager to coordinate content production and maintain the organization’s website, Resource Library, and written materials. This role will be supervised by the Director of Impact. The ideal candidate will have experience in content creation, harm reduction practice, and a solid grasp on the national harm reduction landscape. Essential Functions ● Improve the scope of online resources that respond to the changing needs of people who use drugs in the United States by developing content that is factually sound, culturally-specific, linguistically accessible, and always informed by the experiences of PWUD; Identify subject areas for new resources, and oversee the process of creating subject-specific print and web-based content, often in collaboration with community-based subject matter experts. This will require outreach and collaboration with harm reduction programs across the country. ● Consolidate pre-existing harm reduction and drug user health resources with a focus on: ○ BIPOC representation ○ Geographic and region-specific diversity ○ Substance-specific content addressing particular nuances, questions, and harm reduction practices ○ Resources developed by people and communities with lived experience ○ Resources that support learning for individuals with varying levels of literacy ● Lead annual review and redrafting process of all in-house resources, written materials, and website content. ● Attend trainings and review publications in order to integrate information into NEXT’s content and build out NEXT’s Resource Library. ● In partnership with a translator, oversee the Spanish translation of in-house materials. ● In partnership with a graphic designer, oversee the design of in-house materials. ● Verify accuracy of content created with community stakeholders and participants, including NEXT’s Medical Advisory Board and Legal Consultants ● Provide support to the frontline staff in responding to participant questions that require harm reduction content expertise.
