Overview
NEXTDistro(“NEXT”)isanonlineandmail-basedharmreductionprogram.Wemailfreeresourcesto peoplewhousedrugs(PWUD)livinginareaswithnoexistingin-personharmreductionprograms. NEXT willbehiringaHarmReductionContentManagertocoordinatecontentproductionandmaintainthe organization’swebsite,ResourceLibrary,andwrittenmaterials.ThisrolewillbesupervisedbytheDirector ofImpact.Theidealcandidatewillhaveexperienceincontentcreation,harmreductionpractice,andasolid grasponthenationalharmreductionlandscape.
EssentialFunctions
● Improvethescopeofonlineresourcesthatrespondtothechangingneedsofpeoplewhousedrugsin theUnitedStatesbydevelopingcontentthatisfactuallysound,culturally-specific,linguistically accessible,andalwaysinformedbytheexperiencesofPWUD;Identifysubjectareasfornew resources,andoverseetheprocessofcreatingsubject-specificprintandweb-basedcontent,oftenin collaborationwithcommunity-basedsubjectmatterexperts.Thiswillrequireoutreachand collaborationwithharmreductionprogramsacrossthecountry
● Consolidatepre-existingharmreductionanddruguserhealthresourceswithafocuson:
○ BIPOCrepresentation
○ Geographicandregion-specificdiversity
○ Substance-specificcontentaddressingparticularnuances,questions,andharmreduction practices
○ Resourcesdevelopedbypeopleandcommunitieswithlivedexperience
○ Resourcesthatsupportlearningforindividualswithvaryinglevelsofliteracy
● Leadannualreviewandredraftingprocessofallin-houseresources,writtenmaterials,andwebsite content.
● AttendtrainingsandreviewpublicationsinordertointegrateinformationintoNEXT’scontentand buildoutNEXT’sResourceLibrary.
● Inpartnershipwithatranslator,overseetheSpanishtranslationofin-housematerials.
● Inpartnershipwithagraphicdesigner,overseethedesignofin-housematerials.
● Verifyaccuracyofcontentcreatedwithcommunitystakeholdersandparticipants,includingNEXT’s MedicalAdvisoryBoardandLegalConsultants
● Providesupporttothefrontlinestaffinrespondingtoparticipantquestionsthatrequireharm reductioncontentexpertise.
Requirements
● Reliableandtrustworthy,abilitytoeffectivelycommunicateverballyandthroughphone/email
● Experienceintheharmreductionfield,abilitytonetworkandcreateconnectionswithintheharm reductioncommunity
● Previouscontentcreationexperiencerequired,experienceinharmreductionstronglyrecommended
● Abilitytoworkindependentlywithminimalsupervision,projectmanagementexperienceaplus
● Spanishlanguageproficiencyaplus
