My Job

My Job

My name is Petrit, and I have finished school for general construction. I have been working in Greece for 14 years as a plasterer, but here in Canada I came to work as a carpenter. A carpenter is a job that builds and repairs things made from wood. My job is very stressful, because it involves standing for a long time, climbing, bending and kneeling. We work with risky materials, using sharp tools and power equipment. I immigrated to Canada for a better life for my kids and for myself.

I am a sewing machine worker in a small factory. This place supplies products for police officers, firefighters, hospital chefs, and even car repair workers. The fabric is waterproof and white, papery material. My factory is just only two workers and one accountant. My boss came from Germany. He is 78 years old, but he is really strong and very nice. His daughter works in the office. Sometimes my boss’s wife will come to work on the sewing machine. I am very happy to work there.

My Job

My Mother’s Job

I have been working at an engineering company as an AutoCAD drafter for six years now. In my role, I create EIC drawings based on engineer’s direction. EIC stands for Electrical, Instrumentation and Control. I provide assistance with data entries, perform quality control of drawings and data applications. I like my job. I need to improve my English skills. I hope to have a better future.

I’m very proud of my mom, who worked as a police officer in the United States. She worked for ten hours a day. She didn’t need to work on Sunday and Monday. My mom is now retired and she helps to watch over her grandchild. By Grace

No Job, But Busy I retired 13 years ago, but I am very busy. I notice that I enjoy my life as I live. I am a member of a photography club, and also registered in evening English classes, too. My most busy and interesting days are weekends. Usually I go to the seaside, park, lake and mountain, taking pictures with my club members. I am scheduled to go to Mt. Baker this weekend. I am attending calligraphy club on Tuesday and Thursday, writing with airbrush for the purpose of concentration mentality. Also, I go to English class everyday in the evening and the afternoon. My Dream Job

My Job

I want to be a good social worker. I am studying and working hard for my dream. I want to help people if they need it. I want to see people happy. Also, I want to be able to help them with their goals, like other people still help me. A career in social work is my dream that I hope will come true.

I had a job as a janitor in the past, from 1991 to 2012. I worked as a janitor in different places. Zellers was the last place. I worked there for over yen years. Right now I make scarves for the homeless, which they need very badly before the winter comes. I make them and hand them over to a church. A guy named Jim hands them out. This is what I do to help others. The people that work for the government keep saying that there will be new housing built. That’s one reason I make scarves for the homeless, because they need to keep warm too.

By Jenny

My Dream Job When I was young, I always dreamed of being a teacher. I would gather all the little boys and girls and teach them lessons. When I grew up, I had two twin girls. I would always read to them and helped them do homework. I was a second teacher with my daughters. My dream job came true.

My Job

I work in a gas station in Vancouver. I am a cashier. It is my first job in Canada. I also sell some things to the customers. I like my job. I see new customers every day. I am so happy in my job, and I like living in Canada.

I have worked for five months in my job. My work is very hard. I carry many blankets to wash. Then I fold all the blankets, and I put them on shelves. I wash a lot of towels, pillows, mats, rags and white sheets. I work seven hours a day. I work 5 days a week. My work is very hard, but it is fun. I like my work so much because most of my friends at work are very friendly, and I learn many things from them.

My Dream Job I am studying English because I want to be a manager in the Hotel Sheraton. At present, I’m working only on the weekends with housekeeping, but I want a different position. Vancouver is very expensive. I need more money. My problem is that I can’t speak English. I need to practice more. Canada is a country of opportunities. There are many jobs, and I want to live in Vancouver always. By Zaida

Always I make breakfast, lunch and dinner and I cook everyday. I clean the home, dishes and wash clothes. I play with my daughter, and I go to the park with her. I also go shopping. My Dream Job My Dream Job I would like to be a doctor. I like to help people and animals. Doctors have to be around sick people and animals all the time, but also they can see their patients getting better. Doctors can help their patient’s family to be healthy and happy. I respect doctors, and I want to be a good doctor in my next life. By Soyoung

My Husband’s Job My husband, Fabio, is 48 years old. He works as a furniture painter. He has been in this profession for more than 20 years. He is very efficient in making color mixing of paints. He uses all safety equipment, such as masks, clothing and footwear that are appropriate for this job. He is very dedicated and thorough in his job. He works 40 hours per week.

My dream job is to work as a teacher in kindergarten. I really like spending time with children and I like teaching them and them teaching me! The job is similar to babysitting, but more than babysitting. We teach children new information and prepare them for first grade. I’m very careful with children, so I would enjoy a job like this. After their parents come after their work, they take their children home and they don’t have to worry about them because they are in good hands! By Albana

My Sister My Dream Job

My sister studies in Douglas College. She always practices proactively and works hard to get good marks. She usually studies until midnight. My sister also helps me to learn English. In addition, she would like to be a teacher, and graduate from SFU. I hope she achieves her goals, and continues with her hard work to overcome all the obstacles that she might have in her way.

I recently thought about what I would like to do in the future. It was a tough question, but I came to an answer. I want to become a doctor. It has got a lot of advantages over other jobs. First of all, a doctor is a profession which will always be needed. Even if everything gets computerized, doctors will not be replaced by anything because there are different kinds of diseases and illnesses. We can’t change it, but a doctor can help it. Helping others in need is wonderful. There is nothing better than that. You can give them a prescription for a drug that will kill their pain or stop their problem. On the other hand, becoming a doctor requires long studies and hard work. All in all, being a doctor would be, without a doubt, my dream job.

Power of Love Tomorrow is better than today! I met my girlfriend on my trip to China five years ago. She had been living in Canada for a long time. She wanted to sponsor me from Vietnam to Canada and to live together. It was very hard for me to decide “yes” or “no” because I had been in a stable job in my country. Finally the power of love pushed me and I agreed to come to Canada. When I arrived at Vancouver Airport, everything was a surprise for me and a big change in my life. I entered the huge country of the world from a small city, Saigon in Vietnam. The first person I met in YVR was an immigration officer. He checked all my documents for around 15 minutes and stamped my immigration papers with the greeting “Welcome to Canada”. On that day, I became a newcomer in Canada. I had to start from zero. I had nothing - no job, no English, no friends and no money. I just had a beautiful girlfriend. I believed that tomorrow would be better! After six months, I tried to familiarize myself with the environment, with English, and with the people … Truly, I understood that the power of love helped me change everything. I have a job, and I am attending English courses everyday. Canada has given me more than I ever imagined with freedom, clean environment and opportunities.

A Christmas carol is a song or hymn which is traditionally sung on Christmas or during the surrounding holiday season. Christmas carolers often go door to door to share their voices with their community. Some popular Christmas carols in Canada are “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Jingle Bells”. Do you like to sing carols? If so, turn to page 13 for the lyrics to these and other songs!

Afghanistan Afghanistan has many different languages - Dari (Afghan Persian), Pashto and some other languages. First, Dari is the official language in Afghanistan. Basically central and northern parts are Dari speaking people, but almost everyone can speak Dari language. Second, Pashto is one of the other official languages in Afghanistan. People who are living in south and eastern parts are Pashto speakers, but most people are fluent in these two languages called Dari and Pashto. Finally, there’s also some other languages that are spoken there, like Uzbek, Turkmen, Balochi and Hazari. These languages are spoken in their own regions. English and French are also becoming popular among younger generations. Afghanistan has a large number of languages: Dari and Pashto and some other languages. By Muzhana

Kabul Kabul has amazing geography. First of all, the mountains are very beautiful. The greenery of Pul-Artal Mountain makes Kabul look amazing during spring. Darulaman and Paghman are the highest mountains in Kabul, which are located in the north. Second, there are three famous lakes that people go to in the summer. Qargha Lake is one of the deepest lakes in Kabul. Paghman and Sorubi lakes have very cold water all season long. Finally, when it comes to rivers, Kabul River is the most beautiful river in Afghanistan. Logar River has more water than Jalalabad River. They are located in different parts of Kabul. These are three interesting things about Kabul. I love Kabul’s mountains, rivers and lakes. By Hanif

Erbil Erbil has many tourist attractions. First, Erbil has a big citadel in the centre of the city. It also has two main gates with beautiful architecture from a height of 100 meters. Second, Erbil has three big parks with a variety of trees and colorful flowers. As well as this, the biggest park has two different sizes of lakes but two other parks have a gondola that links between them, but that’s not all. There is an art museum, restaurant and fountain. Third, at the north of Erbil, there are many kinds of mountains in terms of heights and ranges. The highest mountain in my city is called Halgurd but it is also called the national park for animals. To sum up, Erbil is recognized by it’s citadel, parks and amazing mountains. By Hamza

Joan’s Boring Party Joan’s party was very boring. Last night I went to Joan’s party. It was very boring. There was no music, no dancing, no food and no fun. It was really awful. Everybody looked very tired. I asked Joan, “Why are they all so bored?” She said it is because everybody is new in this party. I was very sad at Joan’s party. By Shabana

Anywhere Door There is a high-tech equipment called Anywhere Door. It’s from a famous and popular Japanese comic book, Doraemon. The door is ranked top three on everyone’s want list. I can go anywhere in the world through the door. Traveling becomes easier and more comfortable. I would never have to pay for an airplane or hotel again. There is more time to experience various cultures. Of course, there is an extra budget required for other country’s cuisines. Most importantly, I am able to go to Taiwan at anytime. I am sure I’ll enjoy the Anywhere Door. By Tzu-Rou

Shopping at Langley Farm Market I like to shop at Langley Farm Market because it is not too far from my house. Langley Farm Market is not a large market like Costco, Superstore, T&T or Walmart, but it sells many things there. Every Wednesday, Langley Farm Market has some special deals that make customers interested to come and buy some things. I especially like the produce section because they look fresh. I also like the bakery that can smell good and yummy. I really enjoy to shop in Langley Farm Market. By Grace

Shopping at T & T Supermarket Usually almost every week on Sunday, my wife and I go to T&T Supermarket to shop, because it has lots of delicious Chinese staple food that I want. Every time we buy some vegetables and fruits. Sometimes there is a lot of pork or chicken on sale with good low prices. There are also some swimming fishes in the water tanks for sale. My wife likes to buy the traditional Chinese dim-sum. So basically, every weekend we buy a lot at T&T Supermarket and fill our shopping carts with very good food.

Pricemark I always like to shop at Pricemark Foods. They have many kinds of products. I live near it. If the weather is good, I will walk there. I like to buy meat, seafood, bread and dairy. They are very fresh. Usually for some festival, I must go to buy some special products like flour, turkey, containers, sauce, sausage ‌ The price is very cheaper. That’s why I always go there. I like to shop at Pricemark. By May

Shopping at Superstore My Magical Ring I have a big, shiny silver ring. My ring has a large brown Onyx stone. When I wear it, my ring looks good on my finger. When I look at it, or touch its stone, I feel there is a deep attraction between us. Sometimes I wish my ring was full of magical powers, so I can get whatever I need. With that magical power, I could go wherever I want to go. I think if I have a ring with all that power, I will use that power to help all of humanity. By Mohammed

I shop at Superstore once a week. It is a convenient place to shop. Although it is not close to my home, I drive less than 10 minutes to the store. I can buy food, clothes, baby stuff, hygiene and beauty products there. Also, my wife loves to buy all the home supplies, because it is cheap to buy big packages. Every time I buy something, I get points on my Optimum card. Every thousand points is equal to ten dollars. I really like shopping at Superstore. By Mohamed

Beehive Sweet Buns Beehive sweet buns are easy to make. First, put 2 cups of white flour, 1 tablespoon of oil, sugar, half a teaspoon of quick yeast and 2 tablespoons of milk powder in a large bowl. Second, mix them together with a little warm water. Third, kneed it well. Then leave it in a warm place for almost one hour. Fourth, cut into small pieces. Then crunch the dough with cheese. Fifth, put it in an oven and bake in the oven about 25 minutes. Finally, cover it with honey. I am sure your friends will like these buns, because they are very delicious. By Alqubaysi

Ferny Chervis A chervis is so easy to make. First we boil a chicken with four liters of water for one hour and thirty minutes. After the chicken has boiled, we take a deep pan and put inside 150 grams of butter and 200 grams of corn flour. Then we mix it until it gets brown, add the chicken juice, a teaspoon of salt, two garlic cloves and spicy sauce and mix it until a homogenous mixture is created. In the end, we serve it in a casserole with cooked chicken pieces on top. This chervis is a delicious dinner. By Petrit

My Daughter I am fascinated with my daughter. I stare at her when she is sleeping. Thinking of how life will treat her when she grows. She is all I have. Life is running so fast. I can’t believe that life is flying in the air. I remember when I had a bun in the oven. That bun turned out to be an unpredictable, beautiful little girl. My prayer for her is nothing but the best. Because I know life can be so unpleasant sometimes. But I am very grateful for having her by my side. I get moody anytime she smiles at me. She hugs me everyday and tells me that she loves me. She is my fascinating little girl.

Ferny is one of Persia’s delicious desserts. There are many steps to make this tasty dessert. First, in a bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of rice flour 2 tablespoons of starch powder, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Second, add 1 cup of milk to the mix of dry powders and blend them well. Third, heat 1 teaspoon of butter in a pot on medium heat. Next, add this mixture to the heated butter and stir with a spoon and bring to a boil. After that, Carefully pour the boiling ferny onto a large plate. Finally, let it cool for 30 minutes and decorate it with pistachio powder. Ferny is one of the easiest, healthiest and most popular traditional dessert that many still enjoy today. By Zahra

Let it Snow Oh, the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. It doesn't show signs of stopping, And I brought some corn for popping; The lights are turned way down low, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. When we finally say good night, How I'll hate going out in the storm; But if you really hold me tight, All the way home I'll be warm. The fire is slowly dying, And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing, But as long as you love me so. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

A Respectful Learning Space It is important to create an inclusive, respectful, and safe classroom environment for all students. First of all, an inclusive classroom atmosphere develops the knowledge of students. In Canada, there are students from different countries, but they are studying together in a safe and respectful environment. They share information about their culture, language and ideas. The most important fact is that in Canada, schools have students who practice different religions, but there is no segregation. In addition, stimulating empathy in the classroom is important. An empathetic atmosphere creates a more respectful space that prevents bullying. For example: Sadly, many Aboriginal children were abused in residential schools. As a result, Canada declared September 30th as Orange Shirt Day so that people remember that every child is important and deserves kindness. Phyllis Webstad is from the Stswecem'c Xgat'tem First Nation. She was six years old when she went to a residential school in Mission. At the school, staff stripped her and took away her clothes, including her orange shirt. Finally, a secure environment will bring more unity and success for children. For instance: Malala Yousfzai is a global citizen because she wants to change the world so that every child has the right to go to school and get a proper education. She is establishing a brighter future for children. Everyone has to stand up and cooperate to build an inclusive, respectful and safe environment in the world. By Sadullah

A Respectful Learning Space It is important to create a safe, respectful and inclusive school for all students. Unfortunately, some countries are fighting for power. They are at war. Yemen was bombarded, so schools were destroyed. The first victims are the children who have no schools and no food. They are dying of starvation. One teacher built a big house with three floors. The house does not have windows or electricity, but they opened a school in it. A documentary shows the children playing in the ruins with a million dollar smile. Some students abroad want to help, but the location is too far. Hopefully, one day there is going to be peace everywhere in the world. In the meantime, creating a warm classroom environment is a great way to spread peace. By Salvatore

A Respectful Learning Space It is important to create an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning space for all students. First of all, an inclusive environment teaches individuals of all abilities. Peter, a ten year old boy with autism, took karate classes to defend himself. After four years, he became a national Karate Champion. Additionally that same year, he won second place in a mathematics competition. Peter was able to do these activities because he was supported by his parents, teachers and friends. In addition, a respectful learning environment matters to everyone. For example: Lin, a university teacher, listens attentively to all students when they participate in the classroom. She provides opportunities for students to learn about different ideas. Learners respond honestly without feeling judged when others humbly ask them questions, and they feel that their opinion is respected by their peers. Finally, a safe atmosphere creates better ideas. Students develop an increased awareness about social and environmental relationships. For example, Joe created a movement called “One Day without Coffee Cups. He invited teachers and students to avoid coffee cups for one day. Joe showed his school how freedom of expression invites students to exchange ideas to make the world a healthier and clear place. They key to many students finishing school successfully and with valuable meaning is to produce a welcoming classroom environment.

A Respectful Learning Space It is important to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment. First of all, in a respectful place, students do not feel fear. They ask their questions without hesitation. For example: Language students learn more and better when they feel calm. Moreover, individuals feel eager to study in in an inclusive place. For instance: Sara, an elementary student, enjoys her math class, so she likes to study more about math. In a positive place, students think better and read more about their lesson. Finally, an inclusive and respectful atmosphere helps students to achieve their goals. For instance: A nice classroom helps students to discover and understand more about themselves so that they can find what other subjects they feel passionate about in their life. They can realize their dreams and feel motivated to pursue their ambition. Teachers and students have to create a welcoming, peaceful, and courteous space, for school is a second home to so many students. By Zahra

A Resopectful Learning Space It is paramount to create a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom atmosphere. First of all, being in a safe learning space motivates students to be confident. A grade five student gave himself 50% in his music class. However, the student developed better self-esteem through the support of other people in the class. In addition, a respectful environment creates human beings with positive qualities. A young girl was taught good manners by her kindergarten teacher, so she passed this life lesson of being respectful to everybody to the next generation. She used what she learned as child to spread happiness among people. Furthermore, creating an inclusive classroom celebrates multiculturalism. Emma, a high school student, walked inside a classroom for the first time and discovered that her classmates were from different countries and backgrounds. As a result, she learned to appreciate different cultures. Learning in a safe, respectful and an inclusive classroom helps students create a better environment. By Passang

A Respectful Learning Space It is important to establish a respectful, inclusive and safe learning environment. First of all, a respectful environment promotes students’ participation in class. Cynthia is a 20 year old student, who was sad because there was bullying and the students’ interest decreased in class. However, she created a play to unify the students. In addition, Cynthia started to create an inclusive environment that allowed students to express themselves freely. In this case, the students produced a performance that showcased the culture of their countries. They taught others important parts of their heritage. Finally, Cynthia established a safe environment that provided her classmates the confidence to attend class every day. Everyone was excited and surprised with how much they had learned from this activity. Cynthia showed her classmates the importance of knowing different cultures and accepting multiculturalism as something interesting and of great value. It’s great that there are such enthusiastic people in the world.

Love Love is bittersweet. It is the greatest thing in the world. But it is every man’s downfall. Love is the thing that starts wars. Love signs treaties, and does other stuff. Love is evil. It drives men crazy, disrupts their lives. Changes their mental state. Love is happy. It fills your life with joy. It gives you crazy, crazy ideas and fill your head with nonsense. The Joyful Place I enjoy living near the colorful ocean. You can hear the wave that is carried by emotion. Listen to the powerful and peaceful wind. And you do hear it, if you listened with your mind. There’s nothing as peaceful as being near the water. The sunset shadows that reveal a bright creation. Nature is engaging, therefore God made them a star. The ocean and the sunset helps vanish strong emotion. The beautiful sky covered with many clouds. My soul delights with the silence. Opening my eyes up to the blue sky. It is a refreshing place to be, surrounded by this sight. If I would choose somewhere I could go, This is the place I would definitely go. By Anonymous

Come Back The Himalayas She stands high, without speaking to anyone. People wonder how to reach her head step by step. She keeps calm when huge storm challenges everyone. Watching hikers lose control of their footsteps. Her snowy coat is so charming. Climbers rush to discover her face. No matter it could be harming. The only target is to win the race. When the sunbeam shines, people take a chance to head out. To admire her beauty, they bow and bend their knees on the trip. Only notice her smiles, they are cheering about. With limited time to stay, they dance and skip. Singing at the top of the world, there is a high pitch of excitement. And she, still calm as usual, stands lofty.

I’d like to talk to you, But there is an abyss between us, I want to tell you what is new, But you can’t open your eyes. You’re underground where it’s cold and dark, Yet I’m enjoying life without you. Your life is stark, And you can’t see how the sky is blue. I need to go back in time, At least 20 years ago. Not one of us can cross this line, This is why my tears flow. Will always flow. I miss you mom, I love you mom. I need your gentle hug right now. By Alina

Vancouver

Wow, this is a beautiful Vancouver night scene. The Harbor Centre Tower dominates the scene of Vancouver. The beautiful street light can be scene straight through the city. Many buildings stand all along the street side.

Look at BC Place Stadium. It looks so bright with the blue color. It becomes the blue night in Vancouver. It’s so beautiful to enjoy the view at night.

The construct of old and modern buildings is clear to see in this shot. Some buildings are so high with many floors, while some are short with several floors. The light from each unit of the building make a bright beautiful night in Downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is a small lighted city, lights never die in Vancouver’s downtown. Downtown Vancouver is so beautiful, especially at night. It looks like a little star viewed from space at night to brighten the world. By Hokmeng

It is Better to Give than to Receive I feel satisfied when I give a person a present. Four years ago, I gave my mother a special necklace on Mother’s Day. I tried to wrap the present in a nice way. I was waiting until she woke up and I gave her the present. She was surprised but excited about the gift. She gave me a hug. Finally, she liked my gift and she never took it off. I feel glad because she liked my gift. It is a nice memory for me and for my mother on a special day.

Four Seasons Spring is the first season of the year. Flocks of geese fly from South to North. The warm wind is blowing through fields everywhere. The flowers are blooming; the birds are chirping in the garden. Summer comes with hot whether when the spring is over. On the summer beach, the sun is shining, children playing. Someone is singing a love song. The singer is my lover. At sunset, you see the seabirds flying, the boats sailing.

My Adorable Pet

After summer, autumn wears the colorful leaves for the world. This is the time of harvest season. The weather starts to rain. The students have graduated, and the farmers got their food. The rainy days, over and over, make grass turn from yellow to green. Winter is like an old man. The white snow is his dress. After Christmas, four seasons of a year will pass. By Margaret

In a Summer Evening Colorful flowers are blooming in a hanging basket. They sometimes swing with a dancing breeze. A young pine tree is heading up as a rocket. To reach the sky, what a strong spirit it is! Down the hill, a busy bridge stretches above the Fraser River. Roaring vehicles are flowing through. Is the a beaver under the sparkling water? No. Only the gorgeous sunset glow is true. Mt. Baker is looming over everything from far away. Her snow hat still looks soft and smooth. What if she woke up next May? I would have to call you from a public phone booth.

Once I come back home fatigued every night My eyes sparkle like stars while seeing my love Some days she jumps in her cage down, above As she is trying to get little bites At night she moves like a clock hand left and right Every day sadly the cage woodchips she cleaves It is loneliness that causes her to freeze hundreds of times as if she has a fight However I do my best to bring her peace More toys, food and water are all I think Even sometimes I bring my lively niece She who cleans up and does not let her stink She who opens the doors and lets her breathe Then my squeaky guinea pig eats and drinks By Shiva

A Rainy Day It is the first time raining throughout a day. This is absolutely what weather is supposed to be. From morning to afternoon, sky keeps in grey. Sadness is growing inside of me. Rain drops constantly tick on the glass window. That seems tears falling from sky. Maybe someone there with the feeling of sorrow. Perhaps it is just the tears of joyful cry. The thick, dark grey curtain blocks the hope of light. I think the morning light will never come by. I know this feeling is not right. Even though I can’t shake it off, I will try. I hear the sounds of rain ticking and time goes by. Cheer up, do not wonder why. By Lily

Chocolate

New Hope Shared Far the expanse, black sadness resonates, As absence resounds across the abyss. For seventeen solid spheres she felt this New life! A newborn progeny awaits! Alas, starvation stripped her cradle’s stat Her baby dies and grief does not desist. She buoys her calf for weeks, love insists On keeping her close, till heartbreak abates. Fire bells are ringing! The world hears her plea, How surely we have perceived her despair. The answer’s obvious, we all must see That her new diminished realm be repaired. And Captain! Pray hush the cacophony. Thus new life, new hope once more will be shared. By Karolina

Chocolate is very sweet. It comes in many different shapes. I love to eat it as a treat, even if I messed up my shape. I can make a delicious cake, or make yummy ice-cream. I know sometimes it is hard to make, but I will ask someone to join the team. White chocolate, dark chocolate, in fact milk chocolate is the one I prefer. At any time of day, or even late at night. I love chocolate of any kind. I know I can eat fifty pieces or more. By Sahar

The Summer Beach The beach captivated many people. The summer beach is most beautiful. The boys are playing volleyball. They are wearing colorful swimsuits. Summer beach has lots of activities. Some people need the hot sun to tan. Other people converge on the beach to cool off. When waves hit the doughnut float, it feels like being a Viking. What seems to be the end, it is a vast beach. The beach has a huge tree. The summer sun is like a red peach. Under the shade of a tree, it can feel free. Summer, people want to go to the beach. They do not want summer to end. By Amy

Snowy Peaks I sit on the mountain’s snowy edge. The view looks spectacular from the ledge. It is furry, with bushy green trees. The breath-taking place is serene. Cool blue deep lake slowly flows. When I climb the peak, I feel its height. As I am on the summit, I feel the wind blow. An amazing landscape has an attractive sight. The pinnacle has many trees that grow. A white elevation reflects the surface light. The dark green trees are low. On the hilly slopes, the blanket of snow shines brightly. The steep rock is covered with fresh snow. The white cliff reflects the clear water that moves slowly. By Sandeep

A Rite of Passage Standing in the room, I’m a blank. It’s occupant is far away resolutely a dream. I feel myself, with whom he’s always been, shrink. Everything is lonesome, in its place but him. While sorting through the closet he rooted through, many mem0ries are passing from 2012 onwards, filling with the smell of the favorite stew, of him to eat was the only reward. I wait for his call to say hello, for I deserve it, and “I love you, mom.” After he fared forth, my life is somehow hollow. His voice is a comfort, the one and only balm. Looking forward to the first summer he comes back, I’m always here to bring him back on track. By Eileen

Being a Mother The most powerful transformation of my life was maternity. When you bring a new life into the world, everything changes. Nothing will be like the way it was before. When I child cries for the first time, you realize that you are being born into a new life too. You will become another person. Your life will be divided into two parts, abd it’s difficult to remember the first one. All the emptiness in your home and in your heart will disappear. That bored life that you had before won’t exist anymore. The beginning scares you so much. That fragile life that depends on you all the time will transform you into a better person. When you see the first smile, your heart will melt. And as months pass, everything will get better. Your house will be full of joy and happiness. The best thing about this entire journey is that, as the time passes, your love expands, and you appreciate the time that you are together, more and more. How is it possible to expend so much love? I am really grateful of every day since I became a mother. And even when I won’t be here anymore, our love will be forever for al eternity. Nothing is more amazing than being a mother. By Bruna

My Memorable Person Mrs. Gupta was a memorable person in my life. When I started my first job in the university, she was my senior. She was a very helpful person. She was always standing by my side during every difficult situation for me. She was always coming on duty on time, and she finished work on time too. She was a hard worker. She always respected the feelings of other people. She was an organized person because she first sorted the files, then she finished her work. She was a cheerful and loving person. She was a wonderful lady, so I will never forget her.

My Mom My favorite person I will never forget is my mom. My mother is a big prize from God because she helps everybody and doesn’t take anything. She cares about our children, family and home. My mother gives love to everyone. If children are playing, breaking things or being messy, she is not nervous, but she is very happy. My mother is hopeful and gives life to our children. The love of my mother stays all my life even after her death. I will never forget my mom. By Aadrah

Necessary Gift As every parent, I have always considered myself obliged and it a necessity to sacrifice and provide for my family. Many years ago, my children and grandchildren were forced to leave Canada for permanent residence. At that time, I was only able to buy new clothes, airplane tickets, and give, as gifts, five thousand dollars to each one. Every month, I sent them three thousand dollars so that they could survive. During the adaptation period of my children in their new country, I had to work without weekends and holidays to make enough money for three families. I could do it, and it became the greatest gift for my children. For three years, I was able to able to pay for their studies, and bought the necessary housing and cars. At the same time, I helped them open a small family medical business, where they are working now. A gift in need is a gift indeed. By Nikolay

My Favorite Day of the Week Saturday is my favorite day in the week. First, I wake up late. It is a free day for my kids so there is no homework. My kids can play as much as they want. At noon, my daughter has a skiing lesson. After that, we will spend two hours in the library. My kids like to borrow some books. Next, if it sunny, then we will take the kids to the playground, but if the weather isn’t good, we will go shopping. Finally, Saturday is always busy, but it is always fun. By Israa

My Favorite Day of the Week

How to Meet People

My favorite day of the week is Friday. On Friday, I have a very good time and feel happy. Friday is the last day of the week. I have a very relaxing evening because I don’t have to think about the next day when I ‘ll have too much work and have to wake up very early. On Friday evening I can do what I want. I can can see a movie, I can read a book. I can paint and be very relaxed. That makes Friday a very lucky, happy and special day. I want it to be Friday everyday.

It’s easy to meet people in a new place if you follow these simple directions. First, you need to know where is this place, and you can use google maps for that. Second, it’s necessary to combine with the person you will meet, and it’s included the time and local. Finally, but not less important, planning the time that you will use to go to the place, because you need to arrive in time. Just one of these simple directions is easy to meet people in a new place.

By Gavriloaie

How to Meet People in a New Place It’s easy to meet people in a new place if you follow these steps. First, take a walk through your neighborhood. When you arrive, you will get a better perception about your neighborhood, for example art galleries, museums, etc. Then become a member at your local library. Even if you don’t find a perfect book for you to read, there is a chance to meet somebody. Also, bake muffins for your neighbors and deliver them with a big smile. They will be very surprised. Finally, organize a tea party in your home for your new friends and enjoy. If you follow these steps, you will meet people in a very short time.

My How to be Ready to Move It’s easy to be ready to move if you prepare for it ahead of time. First, decide on a day and time to move. Second, find a truck and ask your friends to help you. Try to do it in good weather. Third, prepare boxes and some tools for the move. Sign the boxes. Next, collect all clothes from wardrobes, dishes, pans and other stuff. Put your items into the boxes. After that, if it is necessary you have to disassemble the furniture. Then, if everything is ready, you and your friends can carry all your boxes into the truck. By Zhyldyz

Do Teenagers Make How to Make a Pizza The best way to make an Italian pizza, first of all, when you decide to bake a delicious Italian pizza, buy a flour names “Type OO” for bread and pizza only. Second, during your preparation of the dough, remember always to mix all the ingredients in order: 1 kilo of flour, 100 ml of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of sea salt, and two tablespoons of sugar. In this process, don’t forget to add 300 ml of water and make it warm with yeast inside. Next add the water with the yeast to all the ingredients and mix everything for 5 minutes. While this process takes place, you will see that from the powder, dough will slowly rise, and slowly it will become a more solid form. Finally, after working the dough for 10 to 15 minutes, let the dough rest for 30 to 45 minutes, then you are ready to bake the pizza. Don’t forget to add a couple of fresh tomatoes, some olives, and a little bit of oregano or rosemary. In conclusion, if you follow these steps, you will enjoy real Italian pizza. Buon appetito! Poor Parents? I think that, in general, teenagers make poor parents. First, teenager’s jobs are to study. It’s hard to be a good student and worker at the same time. Parents can’t bring their baby to class or work. They must find a babysitter. Second, if teenagers want to be a good parent, they probably can’t take their studies as seriously. If teenagers notice that studying is the most important thing, then they can’t be good parents. Besides, teenagers have a lot of things they want to do. They want to meet different people, play baseball, and go to university or college. Teenagers shouldn’t waste their time raising a baby, especially if they are not prepared for it. For all these reasons, I’ll say teenagers can’t be good parents. Written by Zu-Kou
