Lucky enough to be close to New York when cravings of the city hit, but lucky enough to enjoy the small town dynamics of the suburbs. And so it is with Wayne Day set for Sun., June 11, rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration will take place on the fields behind Wayne Valley High School and the Municipal Building in Wayne. Wayne Day 2017 is an annual small town festival

Wayne Day since its conception, says that he is excited about this annual event. “Since about 1990,” he says, “we had this idea for Wayne to have a community day, so we floated the idea by the then-Mayor, then we just ran with it.”

Looking back the past 25 years, Wayne Day has grown quite a bit. Last year, Wayne Day has had attendees upward to 10,000 people and Balzarotti hopes that this year they will have even more. Balzarotti is proud of his
participation and years in Wayne Day. He credits so many for their support and hard work to make Wayne Day a success. These include Mayor Chris Vergano, the township, council, board of education, recreation department and police depart-
