Trial Blazers for Kids Foundation Seeks to Improve Treatment Options for Pediatric Cancer Patients

By Steve Sears ivingston’s Jake Kestler passed away on April 11, 2019, but he lives on in the people who knew him, and through the Trial Blazers for Kids Foundation, a nonprofit organization which focuses on improving treatment options and finding cures for children’s cancers, and also seeks funding for innovative clinical trials and does its best to raise awareness about current limited treatment options as well. Gallite Kestler and her husband, Joshua, started the Trial Blazers for Kids Foundation, and then last year when their daughter, Lily (now 16), entered Livingston High School, she founded the LHS Trial Blazers for Kids Club. Kestler says, “Their mission is similar to ours, but really more focused

a great sense of humor kind of well beyond his years. He was pulled out of everything normal that he knew when he was seven when he was diagnosed with leukemia, and he had continued on page 4
