Elite Optical Teams Up with Eye Doctor
A
By Lindsey Kelleher s we’ve rolled into the 2020s, local businesses like online retailers make every day living as convenient as possible for their clients since people are always on the go. At Elite Optical, owner and licensed optician Fares Sabbagh is continuing this trend by striving to provide his patients with quick and convenient service. Elite Optical has an eye doctor on premises to provide patients with complete and comprehensive eye exams. Doctor Sandy R. Kline has been in practice for over 40 years. “People don’t have time these days so we’re trying to make it as convenient as possible for everyone,” Fares said. “In one stop, patients can get their eyes examined and get their glasses or contact lenses. Our mission is to provide patients with the utmost care when it comes to the health of their eyes.” Dr. Kline and Fares have
worked together for over 40 years. They started in Montclair in the late 1980s and then practiced in Orange, Oakland, and now Totowa. Dr. Kline brings in a great deal of experience in fitting people for corrective eyewear and in treating people with common vision disorders. Elite Optical provides the latest in lens technology, progressive, ultra-thin
lens, and anti-reflective coatings, as well as the latest fashion in frames. The patients can make an appointment for an eye examination by calling Elite Optical at 862-257-3272. Elite Optical is located at 386 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512. Elite Optical strives to educate their patients about different vision problems, specifically the danger of blue light emitted by

smartphones and computer screens. “We’re trying to help people see better and protect their eyes,” Fares said. Blue light is harmful light that is emitted by computer screens and other digital devices, according to eyecare professionals. According to the Paris Vision Institute, people exposed to an excess amount of blue light at a young age may experience age-relat-
ed macular degeneration at an earlier stage in their lives. Other research shows that too much exposure to blue light can cause vision loss for people age 50 and older. How do you know if your eyes have been impacted by your computer, smartphone or other digital device? Some symptoms of digital eyestrain include tired eyes, sore eyes, headaches
and stiff necks. People’s eyes are also impacted by HEV light from their computers, smartphones and other digital devices. HEV light, which stands for high energy visible light, causes the eyes to age faster and work harder. People can minimize the amount of blue light that they are exposed to by wearing blue light blocking eyeglasses.
