To all the people out there who are independent, embrace it. Why embrace it? Independence is a great quality to have. The universe isn’t going to give you what you want, and nobody can put you up on a pedestal. Being independent shows that you are your own person and that you can survive and thrive without the constant need of others.

In this day and age, people seem to be very dependent on others. It can be rare to find a person who is confident enough in their own abilities to be able to carry out tasks on their own. These people are the role models, the ones who take the initiative, and they know what they want in life. They don’t need the opinions of others. Being independent can cause some misconceptions. Like if a woman is independent and has a strong work ethic, she may be labeled “bossy” or a “diva”.A man that is the exact same way is praised for how he is.This is frustrating because no matter what your gender, you should be treated with utmost respect and integrity. Being independent can cause people to believe that you are arrogant, selfish, and don’t want others’ help.You can be independent while being humble, compassionate, and accepting of others’ help.

Keep doing you my friends, because you are living your life how you should be: on your own terms. Never let anyone, including yourself, holds you back from doing what you want. But, never be afraid to ask for assistance in achieving your goals because you never know when you may need it. There’s something empowering about being your own person.

PAR SAACHIN SAGAR With the fashion industry mainly focused on women, most of the creative and supervisory functions are held by men. Over the decades, women have followed male visions in the fashion industry - with narrow trendy corsets in the 1920s to enhance the perfect silhouette of the “hourglass”, low-cost hems to attract a more conservative audience and heels to create the appearance of longer, thinner legs. However, fashion has evolved since then, and unlike most people’s beliefs, it is more than just beautiful clothes on a hanger. It goes beyond beauty standards and the wearing of fashionable clothes. It is a reflection of your character, a snapshot of the identity you chose to embody that day. Fashion is about breaking traditional rules and wearing what makes you feel comfortable and good about you. It is an outlet for your individualism to shine through; playing with textures, blocking colors, and mixing luxury and second-hand. It is an extremely versatile concept, as it grows and changes with the carrier.

This edition once again focuses on “Nowfashion”, a monthly concept that takes place at the Backstage Mauritius... We’ll leave you to discover it.

PAR SAACHIN SAGAR Comme l’industrie de la mode est principalement axée sur les femmes, la plus grande partie des fonctions de création et de contrôle est occupée par des hommes. Depuis des décennies, les femmes suivent les visions masculines dans l’industrie de la mode - en portant des corsets rétrécissant dans les années 1920 pour accentuer la silhouette parfaite du “ sablier “, des ourlets modestes pour attirer un public plus conservateur et des talons pour donner l’apparence de jambes plus longues et plus fines. Cependant, la mode a évolué depuis, et contrairement à la croyance populaire, c’est plus que de beaux vêtements sur un cintre.

Elle va au-delà des standards de beauté et du port de vêtements à la mode. C’est le reflet de votre caractère, un instantané de l’identité que vous avez choisi d’incarner ce jour-là. La mode, c’est briser les règles traditionnelles et porter ce qui vous fait vous sentir à l’aise et bien dans votre peau. C’est un exutoire pour que votre individualisme brille à travers ; jouer avec les textures, le blocage des couleurs, le mélange du luxe et de l’occasion. C’est un concept extrêmement polyvalent, car il grandit et change avec le porteur.

ANAELLE LECORDIER MODEL OF THE MONTH Anaëlle Lecordier has become a model in great demand: her army of supporters includes artists, designers and photographers. She tells Newstyle Magazine about her journey from simple little girl to a runway queen. See our exclusive interview and photoshoot herewith…

Call it fairy-tale story if you want. After all, that could be the perfect description for our June Model of the Month Anaëlle Lecordier. This is a goals achieved from her bucket list. The Mauritian charmer gained prestige after participating in Miss Supranational Mauritius in 2015. Anaëlle has, since then featured in various fashion shows and editorials. Now pretty much settled, the hard-working brunette beauty is the perfect choice to kick off new trends.

JUST LIKE A SUPER MERMAID… Our 23 year old lady has always wished to be a model but it has probably never been the right time before. She comes from a long way. Coming straight from our Capital city, she is a trainee at IBL in the catering department. Four years back, she got into a beauty contest and it all started. Just like many little girls, becoming a beauty queen is a big dream. Getting into runways and photoshoots is a world many little and young girls would wish to experience. Anaelle’s very first steps with Miss Supranational have been a real boost to carry on in this way. “My first photoshoot was my glam shooting of Miss Supranational.

The pictures were taken by Sachin Sagar and the theme was “Mermaid”. I still remember that day because I was really nervous. I had a lot of questions coming up to my mind. Questions about how I should pose, which attitude to adopt and whether I would be up to the task,” relates our young lady. Besides her young age, Anaëlle Lecordier handles her job, her personal life and modeling like a real boss. She is categorical: There needs to be a proper balance of all of them.

SHE BUILT HER EMPIRE WITH WHAT SHE WAS GIVEN… Fashion is an industry which fascinates a lot of people.

Being under the spotlights and being aware that our beauty will shine brighter is something more than exciting for many. But as it comes to trends, not all will agree that these need to be followed. For our Model of the month, no way to follow the rules! She has her own style and she embraces it. “The world of fashion is an exciting one. I don’t dress according to the trend. I love shopping and buying nice clothes and then getting them accessorized with a piece of jewelry. But nevertheless most of my clothes are from my mother who sews them for me. Sometimes I make combinations of both to have a myriad of looks that are feasible to create, “she says.

The path has not always been as calm as it may seem

for the young lady. If she today represents the powerful woman who embraces who she is, head high, she confesses that she has not always been that girl. Years back, it was a shy woman who was standing in front of people.

Lacking self-confidence, she had a lot of doubts concerning her body. In addition, she has for a very long time been the target of mockery due to her height and thin body. “I was given ridiculous and unflattering nicknames.”

Thanks to Miss Supranational, Anaëlle has found her self-confidence back. “It was not just a contest where I had to be good-looking and smile. It was much more for me. It allowed me to grow up, to love myself the way I am and to stand out as a woman. For that, I would like to thank my coaches Ameeksha Dilchand and David Stafford who pushed me to outgrow and give the best of myself.”

For her, the fashion realm is a very competitive one. One who really wants to grow in it needs to keep going and be mentally strong. “In Mauritius it is a harsh environment where it is a bit difficult to get a chance. It is a very promising environment but Mauritius still has a long way to go,” she states.

FUTURE AS BRIGHT AS HER HIGHLIGHTER Despite the refusals she has had, Anaëlle has never given up. Her next challenge: Commercial adverts! That’s right. Our young lady always thinks big. So far, she has only tasted bits and pieces of fashion runways and photo shoots for magazines or collaborations. Her biggest wish is to, one day walk down the streets and see her face on a billboard or on the first page of one famous magazine. All she has accomplished so far would never have been possible without the supportive family she has. “At first my parents were not very excited about my decision. They were not really happy with my choice to start in this field.

But when I was selected for the competition, they were so proud of me and even more excited than me. Since then, they have continuously been supportive to me,” she recalls.

The future? Even bigger for our lady! When she is not on the runways or in front of a camera lens, our Miss makes some good pastries. Another passion which she accordingly cherishes. She looks forward to own a bakery someday and be able to create some brand new pastries. Well, she is not the only one to look forward to it… (We are as well)! Moreover, she sees herself travelling and getting to discover the world with her husband and her family.

Yes, she obviously sees herself as a married woman with children in five years time.

For now, she hopes that winning the title of “Model of the Month” will be advantageous to her and give her more exposure with the most famous names in the fashion world.

“It will be an unforgettable experience that I will tell my children.”

Appelez ça un conte de fées si vous le voulez. Après tout, ce pourrait être la description parfaite pour notre modèle du mois de juin, Anaëlle Lecordier. C’est un objectif qui a été atteint de sa liste de choses à faire. La séduisante Mauricienne a gagné en prestige après avoir participé à Miss Supranational Mauritius en 2015. Anaëlle a, depuis, participé à divers défilés de mode et éditoriaux. Aujourd’hui bien installée, la brune et bosseuse est la parfaite candidate pour lancer de nouvelles tendances.

COMME UNE SIRENE… Notre jeune femme de 23 ans a toujours voulu être mannequin, mais cela n’a probablement jamais été le bon moment auparavant. Elle vient de loin. Venant directement de notre capitale, elle est stagiaire chez IBL dans le département traiteur. Il y a quatre ans, elle a participé à un concours de beauté et cela a tout enclenché. Comme beaucoup de petites filles, devenir reine de beauté est un grand rêve. Se lancer sur les pistes de défilés et les photoshoots est un monde que de nombreuses petites filles et jeunes filles souhaiteraient découvrir. Les tout premiers pas d’Anaëlle avec Miss Supranational ont été un véritable coup de pouce pour continuer dans cette voie. “Ma première séance photo a été le shooting glamour de Miss Supranational. Les photos ont été prises par Sachin Sagar et le thème était “Sirène”. Je me souviens encore de ce jour-là parce que j’étais très nerveuse. J’avais beaucoup de questions qui me venaient à l’esprit. Des questions sur la façon dont je devais poser, l’attitude à adopter et si je serais à la hauteur de cette tâche “, raconte notre jeune femme. Outre son jeune âge, Anaëlle Lecordier gère son travail, sa vie personnelle et le mannequinat comme une vraie patronne. Elle est claire : il faut qu’il y ait un juste équilibre entre tous ces éléments.

ELLE A CONSTRUIT SON EMPIRE AVEC CE QU’ON LUI A DONNÉ...

La mode est une industrie qui fascine beaucoup de gens. Etre sous les feux des projecteurs et être conscient que notre beauté brillera davantage est quelque chose de tout à fait excitant pour un grand nombre de personnes. Mais en ce qui concerne les tendances, tous ne seront pas d’accord pour dire qu’il faut les suivre. Pour notre modèle du mois, pas moyen de suivre les règles ! Elle a son propre style et elle l’adopte. “Le monde de la mode est passionnant. Je ne m’habille pas selon la tendance.

J’adore faire du shopping et acheter de beaux vêtements, puis me procurer des accessoires. Mais la plupart de mes vêtements viennent de ma mère qui m’en coud. Parfois, je fais des combinaisons des deux pour avoir une myriade de looks réalisables, “ dit-elle. Le chemin n’a pas toujours été aussi calme qu’il n’y paraît pour la jeune femme. Si elle représente aujourd’hui la demoiselle qui accepte qui elle est, la tête haute, elle avoue qu’elle n’a pas toujours été cette femme.

Il y a quelques années, c’était une fille timide qui se tenait devant les gens. Faute de confiance en elle, elle avait beaucoup de doutes sur son corps. De plus, elle a longtemps été la cible de moqueries en raison de sa taille et de sa silhouette toute mince. “On m’a donné des surnoms ridicules et peu flatteurs.”

Grâce à Miss Supranational Mauritius, Anaëlle a retrouvé confiance en elle. “Ce n’était pas seulement un concours où je devais être belle et sourire. C’était beaucoup plus pour moi. Cela m’a permis de grandir, de m’aimer telle que je suis et de me démarquer en tant que femme. Pour cela, je tiens à remercier mes coachs Ameeksha Dilchand et David Stafford qui m’ont poussé à grandir et à donner le meilleur de moi-même.” Pour elle, le monde de la mode est très compétitif. Celui qui veut vraiment grandir dans ce domaine doit continuer et être mentalement solide. “A Maurice, c’est un environnement difficile où il est un peu compliqué d’avoir une chance. C’est un environnement très prometteur, mais Maurice a encore un long chemin à parcourir “, déclare-t-elle.

UN AVENIR AUSSI BRILLANT QUE SON SURLIGNEUR… Malgré les refus qu’elle a essuyés, Anaëlle n’a jamais abandonné. Son prochain défi : De la publicité commerciale. Eh oui, exactement ! Notre jeune femme voit toujours grand. Jusqu’à présent, elle n’a goûté que des morceaux de défilés de mode et des séances photos pour des magazines et des collaborations.

Son plus grand souhait est de pouvoir, un jour, marcher dans les rues et voir son visage sur un panneau publicitaire ou à la première page d’un des plus célèbres magazines. Tout ce qu’elle a accompli jusqu’à présent n’aurait jamais été possible sans le soutien de sa famille. “Au début, mes parents n’étaient pas très excités de ma décision. Ils n’étaient pas vraiment satisfaits de mon choix de démarrer dans ce domaine. Mais quand j’ai été sélectionnée pour la compétition, ils étaient si fiers et encore plus excités que moi. Depuis, ils n’ont cessé de me soutenir “, explique-t-elle. L’avenir ? Encore plus grandiose pour notre demoiselle ! Quand elle n’est pas sur les podiums ou devant l’objectif d’une caméra, notre Miss fait de bonnes pâtisseries. Une autre passion qu’elle chérit par conséquent. Elle a hâte de posséder une pâtisserie un jour et de pouvoir créer de toutes nouvelles recettes. Eh bien, elle n’est pas la seule à l’attendre avec impatience... (Nous aussi) ! De surcroît, elle se voit voyager et découvrir le monde avec son époux à en devenir et sa famille. Oui, oui elle se voit manifestement comme une femme mariée avec des enfants dans cinq ans.

Pour l’instant, elle espère que remporter le titre de “Modèle du mois” lui sera profitable et lui donnera plus de visibilité auprès des plus grands noms de la mode. “Ce sera une expérience inoubliable que je raconterai à mes enfants.”

23 Year old, Mauritian fashion model, Jeremy Benoit West Ley, talks about his most memorable photo shoots and the pros and cons of modeling in this new exclusive interview. Follow us…

Jeremy Benoit is definitely an exception. We spotted him few times ago and tried to interview him back then. To short notice! We were prepared for this issue. We had to come to the conclusion that he isn’t only good looking but sweet and very down to earth (We know that sounds cliché but there are no better descriptive adjectives we can think of). Here are some things Jeremy and our team talked about.

FROM MAURITIUS TO SWITZERLAND… A svelte brunette with dark skin, shaved head, lush lips and chiseled cheekbones, Jeremy Benoit is quite the opposite of the lantern-jawed, muscled men that often pose for advertisements and glossy magazine covers. High fashion’s taste in male models goes through cycles. Masculine mannequins are rarely as sartorially inclined as their female counterparts—the typical uniform involves jeans, a T-shirt, and a pair of worn-in sneakers—but every so often one comes along who defies the norm. Jeremy is one such model, whose sense of contemptuousness and a penchant for ensembles as varied as denim jumpsuits to the fresh-off-the-catwalk looks have caught the attention of many agencies as well as designers. At 23 years old, he is already an international model and a shop manager. “Since my young age, I was into Mama Fashion magazines. I always wanted to be a model. It was difficult to feel comfortable and fit in Mauritius. I stepped into this world in Switzerland and Italy on my birthday trip and it all started there! It’s been five years now,” relates our model.

WORKING FOR SUCCESS…WITH LOVE! Jeremy worked a lot for his successful career. The young man describes his life as an adventure. From Paris to…

Prague, the young man never know how will be the next day for him. “I always meet a lot of people, build new friendships and I won in experience. It specially made my loved ones be proud of who I am today – my queen mama and my best friends. I would say that my job helps me a lot and I am grateful for that,” says our supermodel.

Mauritian-born Jeremy reveals that when he first started modeling in Mauritius, the “Must-have” criteria was: big muscles, fair skin, blue eyes, blond hair. For him, modeling involves different categories – different models with different ways of being beautiful. “Everybody is unique and so gorgeous,” with such an atypical look, Jeremy captivated the audience in 2014, gracing the runways.

Since then, he appeared on a lot of magazines, did a lot of photo shoots and on a number of catwalks modeling all sorts of outfits, looking virtually on-top. But how can a man pull off this role? “My body, my rule. First, I don’t care about people because I get dressed for myself. I wear what I want and when I want. You have to dare. It’s fashion and it’s a game! Sometimes, clothes make me feel so powerful that I can twirl on my haters (haha!),” confesses Jeremy.

WITH SUCCESS COMES STRUGGLES… For our supra model, modeling is not as glamorous as many people may think. Doing lots of castings and getting constant rejections is part of the job. It is an intensive competition where the excitement as well as depression is part of the job. “You may not get jobs for few weeks, even months.

You have to diet and get a clean lifestyle all the time to remain slim and healthy… You need to be ready for Variable Pay and Scams and no stable income… You need to be ready to always be criticized on your appearance as you will be treated like an item and not a human in most cases,” a dark portrait painted by the young man who went through so much to stand where he is today.

He however mentions that modeling does not only imply a dark restricted side. “You also travel and discover the world. There is no 9am – 5 pm. Everyday can be a holiday if you want it to. If you work hard, there will be generous paychecks. You can be the first to wear fabulous designer clothes, shoes, and accessories. We need not forget catwalks in amazing fashion shows and, of course photoshoots.”

GREAT THINGS AHEAD! His most memorable shoots? “Actually I cannot decide (laughs). There was a crazy one in Czech Republic where I was mostly naked in Dan Couture on the road in winter!”

Jeremy has gained so much media attention. He thinks Newstyle magazine can help the new generation in embracing diversity and keeping the doors open to new faces. His message for the aspiring models is simple: To be strong and keep faith that hard work always pays! “Rejections is part of the job. Always be on time at the casting, never pay to join an agency even if it’s better to join an agency and don’t expect for big income at the beginning.

Most importantly, always be polite, humble and grateful.”

DE L’ÎLE MAURICE À LA SUISSE...

Brun, svelte à la peau sombre, au crâne rasé, aux lèvres pulpeuses et aux pommettes ciselées, Jeremy Benoit est tout le contraire des hommes musclés à la mâchoire lanterne qui posent souvent pour des publicités et les pages de magazines luisant.

Le goût de la haute couture chez les mannequins masculins passe par des cycles. Les mannequins masculins ont rarement une inclinaison aussi vestimentaire que leurs homologues féminines - l’uniforme typique comprend des jeans, un t-shirt et une paire de baskets usés - mais de temps en temps, il arrive que quelqu’un défie la norme. Jeremy est l’un de ces modèles, dont le sens du mépris et le penchant pour les ensembles aussi variés que les combinaisons en jean ou les looks frais et décontractés ont attiré l’attention de nombreuses agences ainsi que des designers. A 23 ans, il est déjà mannequin international et gérant de magasin. “Depuis mon plus jeune âge, j’étais dans les magazines Mama Fashion. J’ai toujours voulu être mannequin.

Il était difficile de se sentir à l’aise et en condition physique à Maurice. Je suis entré dans ce monde en Suisse et en Italie lors de mon voyage d’anniversaire et tout a commencé là ! Cela fait cinq ans maintenant “, raconte notre modèle.

TRAVAILLER POUR RÉUSSIR...AVEC AMOUR !

Jeremy a beaucoup travaillé pour sa brillante carrière. Le jeune homme décrit sa vie comme une aventure. De Paris à... Prague, le jeune homme ne sait jamais ce que lui réserve le lendemain.

“J’ai toujours rencontré beaucoup de gens, noué de nouvelles amitiés et j’ai gagné en expérience. Elle a fait en sorte que mes proches soient fiers de ce que je suis aujourd’hui - ma reinemère et mes meilleurs amis. Je dirais que mon travail m’aide beaucoup et j’en suis reconnaissant “, déclare notre top model.

Jeremy, originaire de Maurice, révèle que lorsqu’il a commencé à faire du mannequinat sur cette île, les critères incontournables étaient : gros muscles, peau claire, yeux bleus, cheveux blonds.

Pour lui, le mannequinat implique différentes catégories - différents modèles avec différentes façons d’être beaux. “Tout le monde est unique et si beau “, avec un look si atypique, Jeremy a captivé le public en 2014, honorant les défilés. Depuis, il est apparu dans de nombreux magazines, a fait de nombreuses séances de photos et sur un certain nombre de défilés de mode pour toutes sortes de tenues, avec une apparence pratiquement irréprochable. Mais comment un homme peut-il jouer ce rôle ? “ Mon corps, ma loi! D’abord, je me fiche des gens parce que je m’habille pour moi. Je porte ce que je veux et quand je veux.

Vous devez oser. C’est la mode et c’est un jeu ! Parfois, les vêtements me font me sentir si puissant que je peux faire tournoyer mes ennemis (haha !) “, avoue Jeremy.

LE SUCCÈS S’ACCOMPAGNE DE LUTTES...

Pour notre supra modèle, le mannequinat n’est pas aussi glamour que beaucoup le pensent. Passer beaucoup de castings et obtenir des rejets incessants fait partie du travail. C’est une compétition intensive où l’excitation et la dépression sont de mise. “ Vous pourriez ne pas trouver d’emploi avant quelques semaines, voire quelques mois. Vous devez suivre un régime alimentaire et avoir un mode de vie sain tout le temps pour rester mince et en bonne santé... Vous devez être prêt pour la rémunération variable, les arnaques et aucun revenu stable...

Vous devez être prêt à toujours être critiqué sur votre apparence car vous serez traité comme un objet et non un humain dans la plupart des cas,” portrait noir peint par ce jeune homme qui a tant fait pour se situer dans sa vie actuelle. Il mentionne cependant que le métier de mannequin n’implique pas seulement un côté obscur et restreint. “Vous voyagez et découvrez aussi le monde. Il n’y a pas de 9h à 17h. Chaque jour peut être un jour férié si vous le souhaitez. Si vous travaillez dur, il y aura de généreux chèques de paie. Vous pouvez être le premier à porter de fabuleux vêtements, chaussures et accessoires de marque. N’oublions pas les défilés de mode et, bien sûr, les photoshoots.”

Ses séances photos les plus mémorables ? “En fait, je n’arrive pas à me décider (rires). Il y en a eu une folle en République Tchèque où j’étais le presque nu dans Dan Couture sur la route en hiver !”

DE GRANDES CHOSES À VENIR !

Jeremy a suscité tant d’attention dans les médias. Il pense que le magazine Newstyle peut aider la nouvelle génération à accepter la diversité et à garder les portes ouvertes aux nouveaux visages. Son message pour les mannequins en herbe est simple : Avoir la force et garder la foi que le travail acharné paie toujours ! “Les rejets font partie du travail. Soyez toujours à l’heure au casting, ne payez jamais pour rejoindre une agence même s’il est préférable de rejoindre une agence et ne vous attendez pas à de gros revenus au début. Surtout, soyez toujours poli, humble et reconnaissant.”

JAANSHEIR HOSSENBOCUS TOWARDS TRANSFORMATION Jaansheir Hossenbocus: the name is synonymous to physical performance results and advanced body transformation. Excellence is what Jaansheir, 30 years old strives for when aiming to take his clients’ health and fitness goals to new heights and what his clients themselves have come to expect from him. Results and excellence are probably responsible for the body transformation specialist’s reputation and success as a personal trainer. Traditionally, any population with high aspirations and standards would be an exceedingly challenging group to work with. As for some, their careers either live or die based on how they look and perform. It is Jaansheir’s job to ensure that each of his clients enjoys longevity and prosperity- a role he never tires nor fails at.

TO MOTIVATE AND BE MOTIVATED… Living in Port-Louis, Jaansheir Hossenbocus, also known as Evans for the intimates is an international athlete and coach who has always been passionate by the Gym life. It is no surprise that his choice of career has been driven to the sports industry. But what separates Jaansheir from the thousands of personal trainers currently expanding into the customers’ market? For one thing, he is bound to enhance his knowledge through his own daily training.

Three words to describe the young man at work? Passion, motivation and determination. His fitness goal is to become a better version of him. “What melts my heart at work is to see the transformation of my clients; the before and after. However, what annoys me the most is to see lazy people,” says Jaansheir. By its very nature, a body transformation necessitates a strong will to overcome some kind of physical flaw, whether largely perceived as in the muscular bodybuilder who sees himself as being small or startlingly real as in the overweight housewife in need of an effective fat loss program. Regardless of how extreme, any body’s transformation requires professional intervention from one who has both the experience and the desire to really help, to make a difference and to facilitate positive change. This is what separates Jaansheir from the pack and makes him the best in his field. With so much years of experience as a trainer, Jaansheir has learned many lessons. As a fitness trainer, he has had experiences most of us can only dream about. A typical day for our young man starts with his morning workouts and training followed by his work as a fitness coach at the gym.

BUILDING TRUST… We are giving this a go! His workouts are practical, yet push you to the limit and not to mention; he has also won the title of Mister Mauritius in 2015 and has been a sponsored athlete of the Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN).

“This is the most memorable time for me so far,” he mentions. With good memories also come some bad ones. We wanted to know some of them. “The worst moments of my life were the financial issues that I have encountered while studying as an athlete as this has made it difficult for me to achieve my goals,” he relates. As we may guess, one who speaks about sports also speaks about nutrition.

Both needs to be paired. For instance, Jaansheir has been to UK for two months where he has followed a specific course on diet and nutrition. By then, this nutrition plan has helped him to have a good diet and hence, helped him to be in shape. The young man explains that without a proper diet, the results may take much more time to be seen. “When a client makes the choice of having me as a coach partner, he is given a particular nutrition plan and some tips to follow besides his training. All this, of course, depends on his health conditions and the goals he wants to achieve,” confesses the young man. For him, motivation is the key to any customer’s results and this is monthly monitored. As for group classes, Jaansheir does all he can to motivate all his students to follow the flow of the training classes. “My group classes consist of abdos and core training ones. I tend to motivate the least performing ones to keep going. I tend to keep them in front so I can have an eye on their training and see good concluding results,” explains our super coach.

Through his interview with us, Jaansheir hopes that the magazine will help him enhance his exposure through targeted audience, mainly in the fitness industry. In the meantime, he hopes in 5 year’s time to become a professional athlete with more sponsors and be recognized as one of the best fitness trainers in Mauritius. “My advice to others is to always follow the training motto – hard work and determination. The keys to success!”

Cependant, ce qui me dérange le plus, c’est de voir des gens paresseux “, dit Jaansheir.

De par sa nature même, une transformation corporelle nécessite une forte volonté de surmonter une sorte de faille physique, qu’elle soit largement perçue comme chez le culturiste musclé qui se voit comme étant petit ou étonnamment réel comme chez la femme au foyer en surpoids qui nécessite un programme efficace de perte de graisse.

Aussi extrême soit-elle, toute métamorphose corporelle exige une intervention professionnelle de la part d’une

personne qui a à la fois l’expérience et le désir d’aider vraiment, de faire une différence et de faciliter un changement positif. C’est ce qui distingue Jaansheir du peloton et fait de lui le meilleur dans son domaine. Avec tant d’années d’expérience en tant que formateur, Jaansheir a appris beaucoup de leçons. En tant qu’entraîneur de fitness, il a vécu des expériences dont la plupart d’entre nous ne peuvent que rêver. Une journée typique pour notre jeune homme commence par ses séances d’entraînement du matin, suivies de son travail de coach sportif à la salle de gym.

BÂTIR LA CONFIANCE...

On donne le feu vert ! Ses séances d’entraînement sont pratiques, tout en repoussant les limites et sans oublier qu’il a également remporté le titre de Monsieur Maurice en 2015 et a été un athlète sponsorisé de l’Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN). “C’est le moment le plus mémorable pour moi jusqu’à présent”, mentionne-t-il. Avec de bons souvenirs viennent aussi de mauvais. Nous voulions en connaître quelques-uns. “Les pires moments de ma vie ont été les problèmes financiers que j’ai rencontrés dans le cadre de mes études d’athlète, car cela m’a empêché d’atteindre mes objectifs”, explique-t-il. Comme nous le supposons, celui qui parle de sport parle aussi de nutrition. Les deux doivent être appairés. Ainsi, Jaansheir a passé deux mois en Angleterre où il a suivi un cours spécifique sur l’alimentation et la nutrition. D’ici là, ce plan nutritionnel l’a aidé à avoir des habitudes alimentaires saines et, par conséquent, l’a aidé à se maintenir en forme. Le jeune homme explique que sans un régime alimentaire approprié, les résultats peuvent prendre beaucoup plus de temps pour se manifester. “Lorsqu’un client fait le choix de m’avoir comme partenaire coach, on lui donne un plan nutritionnel particulier et quelques conseils à suivre en plus de sa formation. Tout cela, bien sûr, dépend de son état de santé et des objectifs qu’il veut atteindre “, confie le jeune homme. Pour lui, la motivation est la clé des résultats de tout client et elle fait l’objet d’un suivi mensuel. Quant aux cours collectifs, Jaansheir fait tout son possible pour motiver ses élèves à suivre le rythme des cours. “Mes cours collectifs sont composés d’abdos et d’abdos de base. J’ai tendance à motiver les moins performants à poursuivre dans cette voie. Je les garde en avant pour pouvoir suivre leur entraînement et voir leurs résultats finaux”, déclare notre entraîneur.

Grâce à son entrevue avec nous, Jaansheir espère que le magazine l’aidera à accroître sa visibilité auprès d’un public ciblé, principalement dans l’industrie du fitness.
