These areas interest women as well as men. The mission of Newstyle Magazine is to encourage new talents. Though women are the core of this online magazine, it does not aim at objectify them. Instead, Newstyle is empowering them and to inspire women to love themselves.

Makeup to melt for!

C

édric Lanappe needs no introduction. The young make-up artist dazzled everyone during his Winter Fashion Show. It was held on the last Friday of August in Backstage, Ébène. He showed that his creativity did not freeze in this cold season. Instead, he used it as in inspiration to draw an exclusive and extravagant fashion night. Cédric and his team worked on the concept and the accessories for four months!

Cédric Lanappe pushed his limits by mixing looks from Victoria’s Secret and Channel. On top of that, he used the latest collection from MAC Cosmetics, that is, Dazzle Shadow Liquid.

For the fashion night, his team was made up of two hairstylists, one Makeup assistant, one designer, one stylist and one accessories’ designer. Ten models from Gold Models agency flaunt his creations.

His makeup artistry mesmerized everyone!

FRENCH VERSION Cédric Lanappe donne froid dans le dos !

Cédric Lanappe n’a pas besoin d’être présenté.

Le jeune maquilleur a émerveillé son audience lors de son Winter Fashion Show. Le défilé a eu lieu le dernier vendredi d’août au Backstage, Ébène. Il a montré que sa créativité ne s’est pas refugiée en hiver. Bien au contraire ! Il y a puisé son inspiration pour réaliser un défilé extravagant dont lui seul a le secret. Quatre mois durant, Cédric et son équipe ont travaillé sur le concept et les accessoires.

Cédric Lanappe a repoussé ses limites en s’inspirant de Victoria’s Secret et Channel. Il a aussi mis en avant Dazzle Shadow Liquid, la dernière collection de MAC Cosmetics.

Lors de la soirée, son équipe était composée de deux coiffeurs, un assistant maquilleur, un designer, un styliste et un designer d’accessoires.

Dix modèles de l’agence Gold Models ont défilé fièrement avec ses créations.

QUENTIN & ANTOINE THE BROTHERS

SZARZEWSKI They are 29 and 25 years old respectively. Both Frenchmen pratice running and hiking. They also listen to the same kind of music particularly piano pieces. But each one is treading on different pathways.

Quentin came to Mauritius for the first time in 2010.

He was on holidays. He gradually fell in love with the island. He came back and today he is the director of multisport centre at Riverland in Tamarin. Quentin has also been modelling since the last four years.

He worked withprestigious brands.

Antoine, on the other side, just completed his fifth yearas political science student in Paris.

He often visits Mauritius.

French Version Quentin et Antoine sont respectivement âgés de 29 et 25 ans. Ils sont originaires du nord de la France plus précisément Arras. L’aîné réside à Maurice depuis maintenant sept ans. Il est directeur du centre multisport au Riverland de Tamarin. Quentin fait aussi du mannequinat. Nous avons l’occasion de le voir poser pour des marques prestigieuses. Antoine, pour sa part, est étudiant en Sciences politiques à Paris. Les deux frères, malgré leur différence d’âge, partagent les mêmes centres d’intérêt : la course à pied et la randonnée. Ils apprécient également le même style de musique. “Nous ne nous rencontrons pas souvent. Malgré la distance, nous partageons une relation intense” disent les frères Szarzewski.

Ses fans, des maquilleurs néophytes comme confirmés ont participé à cet atelier de travail au Hennessy Park Hotel à Ébène. Ils ont appris des nouvelles techniques tout en s’amusant.

Claudine Captieux is a personal trainer. The 34-year old spends most of her time at the gym coaching her clients. Though she does not practice sports, she dedicates her free time training herself and likes hiking and swimming occasionally.

It is only three years ago that she started to have a keen interest in fitness, “At that time, I was not really taking care of myself. I started putting on weight and I was not comfortable in my skin. I never liked doing sports earlier, but I knew that things had to change if I wanted to feel and look better”.

Today, fitness is an important part of her life.

Keeping fit helps her feel good in her body and her mind, “I am more confident, stronger, less stressed and healthier. I have much more energy which helps me in carrying out my daily activities. A fit and healthy lifestyle changed my life for the better. As I wanted to share my experience with others, I became a Personal Trainer”.

“People think that fitness is optional and that it is beneficial only to those who are overweight or those who want to shine in bodybuilding contests. It is high time that they take care of their health before it is too late.

They should realise that taking care of their body is as important as eating or sleeping.

Fitness is defined as “good health or physical condition, especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition”. Going to the gym can be time consuming and impossible for some.

But fitness can be practiced anywhere and be part of one’s lifestyle. They just have to eat healthy and exercise regularly” Claudine Captieux concludes.

Bien dans sa peau, bien dans sa tête Tout a commencé trois ans de cela. Claudine Captieux prenait du poids et ne sentait pas bien dans sa peau. Elle qui n’appréciait guère le sport, s’est tournée vers le conditionnement physique. Aujourd’hui, elle a 34 ans et exerce comme Personal Trainer.

Quand elle n’est pas en salle de gym, elle pratique aussi la natation et la randonnée occasionnellement. Claudine Captieux explique que depuis qu’elle a opté pour un style de vie sain, elle est de plus en plus confiante. Elle a de l’énergie à en revendre et est moins stressée.

“Contrairement à ce que certains pensent, le conditionnement physique ne concerne pas uniquement ceux qui sont en surpoids ou ceux qui participent à des concours de culturisme. Il est grand temps qu’ils prennent conscience de leur santé et que pratiquer une activité physique saine est tout aussi important que de se nourrir ou dormir” dit-elle.
