Opening Mauritius to the International Film Industry He is the one who brought ‘Serenity’ to Mauritius. No puns intended, Andreas Habermayer is, through his Production Company- Identical Pictures Ltd, bringing film makers to Mauritius. Recently it is the film ‘Serenity’ that has been entirely filmed here, which he Co-produced.

His plans for the island are big.

ince 2009, Andreas Habermayer is operating as Founder and Managing Director of Identical Pictures ltd, Service for Film & Photo Production - Mauritius, Seychelles, and Maldives. From then till now, the multifaceted, award-winning media agnostic filmmaker, has produced more than 1000 TV commercials and corporate films.

Palmarès His short film, “For a Good Reason,” was nominated for an OSCAR. As a producer, his work has earned him more than 35 national and international awards.

He gained experience in different departments within the Major US Film Studios, from PA to PM, from 1st AD to line producer. He has worked for Steven Spielberg´s Amblin Entertainment, Columbia Pictures (USA & Germany), Lorimar Studios/Sony Pictures and New Constantin Film. He studied film & economics at the University of Television and Film in Munich, at UCLA in Los Angeles as well at EAVE (European Audio-visual Entrepreneurs). IDP is a Procter & Gamble, Unilever and NBC Universal Pictures preferred Production Company. Andreas has also collaborated with wellknown photographers such as David La Chapelle and Mario Testino on commercial photo shoots.

‘Serenity’ The one who started in 1986 as 2nd Assistant Director & Cast for the famous Inspector Derrick series has an impressive past in film production till now. Lastly from April to July 2017 he has been Executive Service Producer & Co Producer on the feature film, drama thriller.

‘Serenity’, a 26 million dollars production directed by Steven Knight, produced by Greg Shapiro, Guy Heeley, and casting in main roles Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou.

Mauritius, a real paradise for filming “Mauritius compared to other island is a one stop shop for filming. Cameramen, direction and production teams say that they are served for every items needed for filming.

It has City, Towns villages Mountains, Green field and spaces, beach and sea, that is a lagoon that is natural tank for underwater filming, and more importantly, a great hospitality with no safety issues. In other Aislands the hospitality and safety are different” reveals Andreas.

A one stop Shop Identical Pictures, being itself fully equipped in every material and tools for filming makes it become a filming facilitator for the region. “The teams do not have to ship or come with tons of material” he says. Since the contract signature for ‘Serenity’, Identical Pictures has gained more visibility and has been approached by many from Los Angeles, New York South Africa and Germany with propositions of TV Serials and commercial production, “which will be shot here in Mauritius” he stresses. For now he has agreed of three projects from Hollywood, he is currently working on Administrative matters and site visits. He, working to better expose the island on the International Film Making Market makes him the man who is propelling Mauritius on the Globe. He is to be followed…

Listen to your body’s and soul’s needs…

She is driven by her instinct, her common sense and her spirituality. Isabelle Brillant, Top Model for over two decades, an active working woman and a wife is nearing her 44th birthday but is as fresh as a -30 years old full of life and glowing woman. What is her secret? Well, she doesn’t know it fully herself. She just listens to her body’s and soul’s needs and wants and continues to keep the good habits and activities she does since she was 15!

Everybody may believe that she is the kind to spend all her time in gyms, fitness centers and beauticians.

But Isabelle Brillant says that she only follows common sense. May be it is why she is maturing well!

Instinctive but disciplined She follows her own rules since she was 15 years old and never bargain with them. “It is like always taking off your makeup before going to bed, hydrating your face and body, protecting from the sun if you want to keep your skin beautiful and to maintaining your body weight, as far as it depends upon you, should consume everything responsibly. I give my body what it needs, no excess, not less” she cannot be more explicit. She also comes from a family where this discipline is more or less adopted” both my mother who is 71 and my younger sister have the same size and weight as me, 50 Kgs! We permit ourselves gaining not more than 2 kgs”. But, “I can say that we are blessed by the Supreme one to be in good health and not having any particular diseases or hormonal problems. I think about those poor women who have so many problems who after menopause fight to lose the single kilo”…

Fitness against aging It is a fact that the body does not react the same way at different ages of life, so listening to your body and make wise and long term decisions, knowing that it will eventually pay off later. “As age grows my body demands less so I eat less, the body demands more fitness sessions, I do more fitness sessions. I keep working out two times a week in my little home gym and recently, with my hubby who is for the past 15 years my best friend, my lover and my coach, we have started Cycling along the North Coast. We practice that every weekends not only to keep fit but also as a date and leisure”, she reveals.

She also developed a new taste for gardening in which she thinks that “some hours of gardening is another good way I have found to keep fit whilst being in touch with Nature and having the immense joy of seeing the flowers blossom!”

The lesser the stress, the better the organism Isabelle makes it a must to “be authentic, standing firm in my beliefs and values, being happy and grateful for the people in my life are vital to live a stress free life.

Living a life I love, having the love of people who matter to me, reaching out to others, doing a job that I like and more importantly, being connected to the Source of Life as well as looking positively towards the future are the main ingredients to looking and feeling great at any age” admits Isabelle.

Career driven Lots may think that Isabelle just cares about herself, her body and her skin care, but No. She is a very active woman working as the Personal Assistant of the CEO of Mauritius Telecom, “a challenging job but I take it without stress” as she highlights. “I have been working in the corporate world full time for about 20 years now and still enjoying it because I love working and I consider being a Life Long Learner. In fact, you always learn from people: Sometimes you learn things that you must emulate and other times, you learn about things that you should avoid doing, but it is learning anyway.

Things have not always been easy but I was determined to persevere and build up my wings and the adventure is not yet finished…”

The spiritual Isabelle is a spiritual person. “If Love, joy and peace emanates from your being and if you can inspire or even just bring a smile on the face of other people you encounter then that is beauty”. She continues, “The wisest man who once lived on earth said that ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving. This couldn’t be truer. If you are busy reaching out for others, you definitely have more happiness and this reflects on the outside from within” and this is her way of being here for others.

She is “a people person” she says. For any meaningful relationship, she is ready to go the extra mile and do more than 50% of her share to make things work, “I can go up to 75%, just not 100%! But Hey, I am not Jesus, only a follower” she attests.

Childless by choice It was a commune decision. She says “In fact, the profound reason, is that when I see so many children suffering because they feel so bad about their parents getting divorced or being raised by one parent only that we feel that it is too strong a responsibility to procreate not knowing what the future holds for this innocent creature” she concludes She stays a Top Model who hopes to continue existing in the Fashion world. She has recently been member of the jury for the event ‘The Fashion Experience Mauritius 2017’ organized by Mataora and held on last 02 September at the Club Med, La Plantation, Albion.

He is realising his dream of being in the skin of his favourite super heroes by creating the costumes all by himself. Patrick Joseph is a full fanatic of DC Comics and Marvel Universe. He is set to present a range of costumes.

His two first realisations are Superman and Wonder Woman, which you will understand he didn’t create for himself !

He is a Cosplay passionate like many, but he is a creative person and a perfectionist in his work. The 26 years old guy is a VFX Artist and 3D modeller. He has been a model for about 7 years now and has participated several fashion shows, adverts and also foreign Tv series. For now he is attached to Look Men Agency. The diehard Cosplay lover is also a Cosplay Designer.

The Cosplay adventure He has been confectioning suits since he is a kid. Some clothes here, some fabric there, some mix of ‘here and there’ and little Patrick was happy. As he grew into a 36

man, a tall and muscular Model, his expectations also grew. He met a friend, Frédérique lamarque and she made him discover the existence of a group of Mauritian cosplayers “I was overwhelmed because I didn’t know that people were doing this here in Mauritius” he says.

Knowing that motivated him to set off on this costume confection adventure. “To make my costumes, I do a lot of researches, looking for every single pictures of the real one on the net and looking for every fine details that the suits have, I’m a perfectionist and I like details and I do my best to make my suits look exactly like in the movies”.

To the closest detail But being a passionate of art and an artist himself, and having a 1m86 muscular body, he decided to design those costumes for himself. The first one was Superman’s, his fetish hero since childhood, and to accompany him, she has taken the so in vogue brunette, Victoria Duval as Model to design Wonder Woman Suit. He did all that for a Photo Shoot for this 7th Edition of New Style Magazine and this realisation took him a few months.

“I am a man of details” he reveals.

Costumes in the pipeline Over the months, he has already started working on other costumes. “I have already finished the Batman costume and the Spiderman one is almost finished. My future costumes are Deadpool, Black Panther, another Batman Suit and another Superman one, better versions than the previous ones! The coinfection of those costumes usually take me a few months to make, still, depending on the finest details” reveals Patrick.

His works haven’t been unnoticed. He reveals “foreign people have already contacted me and are interested in my work. They are willing to pay me to get costumes made for them” he concludes. He is working on this new project.

This Menu finely imagined by the Irish Chef, Ronan Boucher will be the lead 3 course meal addressed to the fine palets, lovers of the Irish Restaurant. Prepare yourselves to have your mouths watered.

A Salmon Gravlax for the entrée.

Chef Ronan revisits this Scandinavian Dish. Normally this dish demands a dill-cured salmon with salt and sugar mix rubbed on the salmon flesh, but The Irish version serves a dill-cured salmon also but with a mix of sugar, salt, black pepper, orange juice and zest, fennel seed and Jameson Whisky. The salmon is the cured for 48 hours. “This dish is eaten in carpaccio and served with roquette salad with orange and black pepper sauce and some baguettes. Since the flesh is more or less greasy, the best to accompany this dish is a Savignon Blanc Sec or a White Muscat” advises Chef Ronan.

Moving on, a so succulent Wagyu Beef Gourmet Burger The Wagyu beef meat comes directly from Japanese Farms and is minced in house and marinated with a homemade basting sauce and a blend of spices originated from Morocco. Chef Ronan does not disclose more “it is my secret recipe. All I can say, in the North African spices I add others spices from different overseas origins ti give the Wagyu Gourmet Burger its actual taste. In order to bring that smoky flavor, I put a secret homemade barbecue sauce� says. This Wagyu Beef Gourmet Burger is best eaten medium well and with French fries with Herbes de Provence or a side salad with homemade pepper, lime and basil sauce. It is best accompanied with a pint Blonde Beer.

An Irish explosion What’s best than a chocolate Fondant and ice cream explosion to end your food adventure at The Irish. It is a brown baked bread base and an ice cream which is made in house Irish preparation with Baileys. As toppings, The Irish Chef uses icing sugar, roasted almonds and mint leaves. ”This dessert is quite rich and is best having it together with cognac or orange liqueur or a crème de menthe or a calamondin liqueur” This 3 course meal will be ‘Aventure de Saveurs’ that The Irish will propose for this month.

A multiple award winner at our service This is The Irish Chef Ronan’s proposition for the fine palets. The native Dublin Chef has a great xperience working as a chef and Executive Head Chef in top end establishments including the London’s Savoy Hotel and Park Hotel Virginia. He won 7 awards which included the prestigious and internationally recognised AA Rosettes for 3 consecutive years and a certificate of merit. He has also won a Silver and a Gold award from the well-known Les Routiers Awards in Fine Foods. He is now at the service of us Mauritians since the past two years and has been busy revisiting old and modern dishes, developing new Irish dishes taking in account the different cultures here. LITAGYM Women Fitness Club

She is a living encyclopedia of aerobics and fitness. Lita Auckbaraullee, 55, owner of Lita Gym- Women Fitness Club in Curepipe is a Zumba Coach, Aerobics, and the most insane Insanity Work Out Coach since the past 30 years. May be the fittest of her generation, she is way fresher than other women of her age. Let’s give an attentive ear to her tips.

Her mission is to help people lose weight and keep fit and she devotes herself night and day in this mission. “I give priority to hardwork and only hardwork will help those women lose weight rapidly, in a sustainable manner and keep themselves always fit”. She is Categorical, the harder the better… This is what she has done for herself and without taking any big credit of that she wants the same for the other women who approaches for a full body transformation or just to keep fit.

Individual Care “As I extremely appreciate my job, I also extremely appreciate the effort of those coming to me. I give them a special care and with diagnosis of professionals” says 68

Lita. In fact she does give a special care to each individual who want body transformation. They get examined by doctors, by dieticians who give them special meal plans according to height and weight and handled in person

by Lita for work out. “I dedicate all my time to my work and my work is my devotion. I give positive energy and encourage the ladies to do exercise and I give advice to those women about their general health. My priority is to sensitizes those women to be in shape and healthy and feel beautiful all Way long, even in the most difficult moments” she says.

Work Out Insanity!

For the group, it is simple, every woman know what to

do, they just follow the leader. But, Lita is not at all sweet or gentle with them when it is question of work out.

Remember, she is also a Coach of Insanity Work Out. “ I do ask them to always keep moving and do simple exercises even at home. But the real exercises are at my Gym” attests Lita.

Her insanity Work-Out comprises of: 10 Squats with Barbell, 10 Forward and Backwards splits with Barbell, 10 High and Side, 10 times Jumps backwards-legs opened and closed, press-up Open and closed legs, high jump on cube and back and to finish 10 press-up.

She also has outdoor sessions for the fittest called Boot Camp. It comprises of Aqua Gym in the sea and a full military type Work-Out on the beach.

Eating Tips- Only what is really needed “Cut off all comfort and fat food, less or no oil, no fries, no rice ,no breads or flour based products, less or no grains, all gluten free food and only grilled meat or fish… ”orders Lita. To explain herself she says “If someone really wants a body transformation she must undergo

such drastic changes in her eating habits. The goal to attain is a well-Shaped body, so it needs investment. For the others who do not need drastic changes, I also invite them to do so, so as not to feel guilty when they want to have some comfort food”. She does such programs for special obesity cases or women in pre menopause or in menopause or menopaused. “I am a woman and I have undergone this stage of life. It came to me that with my lifestyle I suffered less of those symptoms and ills of menopause like excess heat or hot flashes, dryness and pain, insomnia, incontinence, decreased libido, vaginal atrophy, mood swings, tissue changes, less vitamins, calcium and arthritis etc. I am just showing them the way to better live with it” estimates Lita. She continues “I am a simple woman who stresses on the importance of wellbeing and good health. My mission is to create awareness on keeping fit for a better lifestyle for all women” reveals Lita Concerning beauty tips, “Eat healthy and good food and eat responsibly and never cut off exercises, may it be at the Gym or at home” concludes Lita.

The Towel series is to show how known Mauritian women, in a simple bathrobe and very light make-up, can be so lovely and so sensual.

Sweetie is a known face that has made herself a big name in the industry. Putting a new comer in comparison was to show she has remained so fresh, so fit and how she maintains to keep her gorgeous looks over the years and be still a toper. Sweetie’s make-up was a Soft Glam make-up to highlight her face cut and contours. Cassie’s make up was more a contour and highlighting to bring out a more dramatic feature of her traits The shooting was done by Sachin Sagar in a rich and beautiful suite at the Hennessy Park Hotel. Hosted at Maradiva, this event welcomed more than 300 tourism partners as an appreciation for their ongoing support throughout the year and for them to have a feel of our New Year’s Eve party.
