Trading Up By Geoff WALKER IT is becoming more common for females to launch themselves into the ‘down and dirty’ careers once reserved for men. Olivia McDonald from Lemon Tree Passage, a year 10 student at Hunter River High sees a possible future as a motor mechanic. “My father is into tow trucks and I enjoy helping him,” she said. “I’m very grateful for being given the opportunity of work experience at Tanilba Bay Automotive. This way I can see what it’s really like to be a mechanic.” Meanwhile, year 11 Tomaree High student Toby White has already made up his mind. “I just love cars,” he said. “I help my dad and would very much like to follow this pathway in life.”
