Fabulous Fakes on Show By Marian SAMPSON
WHEN it comes to fine art the question is often asked: “Is it genuine?” From 18 to 28 November, the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre will be proudly exhibiting their Fabulous Fakes. The artworks are copies or in the style of works that emulate works by the likes of Monet, Botticelli, da Vinci and more. TWO Council meetings was all it took for the newly instated Port Stephens mayor to keep one of his main election promises. Webcasting of all Port Stephens Council meetings will once again be available

for members of the public who are unable to attend the meetings held at the Raymond Terrace chambers. In a sign that new mayor Ryan Palmer is intent on moving Port Stephens into a new era of transparency, he and Cr John Nell moved that council general manager
Wayne Wallis “initiate the necessary processes to reinstate and reinstall the webcam system”. Cr Palmer told all in attendance at last week’s meeting, “For me it is more about the people of Port Stephens being able to freely be involved in the process.”
“I think it’s a great thing for the community but as with anything it will be open to review.” This review could be sooner rather than later with some councillors voicing their disapproval immediately during the meeting, “I don’t want to take the
risk and burden my family by getting sued,” Cr Ken Jordan said. “There’s going to be groups out there endlessly going over every word we say.” However, Cr Giacomo Arnott was one councillor who did not harbour such
