Leading from the front, HH Shaikh Khalid is an athlete by himself. HH Shaikh Khalid was given a heroic welcome after he swam for 35 hours non-stop to raise funds for cancer patients. He rose successfully to the “Khalid bin Hamad Swimming Challenge” by undertaking the toughest swimming test and crossing the stretch of water between Sunset Resort in Saudi Arabia and the Sofitel Resort in Zallaq. Praising the humanitarian and athletic initiative of HH Shaikh Khalid, His Majesty had said: “The honourable achievement was an outstanding accomplishment for Bahrain, an inspiration for young Bahraini sportsmen and sportswomen and a motivation for young people for more achievements and successes.” The challenge offered “an opportunity that brought together swimmers from diverse backgrounds in a show of mutual tolerance and support and in a remarkable display of deep commitment to serving people in need.” In 2016, HH Shaikh Khalid established Brave Combat Foundation with a vision to create a global sports property, which would unite nations through the celebration of competition and turn athletes into champions. And, as of now, it is one of the fastest growing sports property in the world.
