1812 efforts to be honoured

A special service for a farmer-turned-soldier will be held this Sunday, June 28. The efforts of Isaac Hodgkins Jr. will be recognized during the 2 p.m. event at Lane’s Cemetery, Twenty Mile Road, in St. Anns. Isaac was a farmer and resident of Gainsborough Twp. until his death in 1867. He also fought in the War of 1812 from 1812-1814. His descendants are welcome to attend.

Dressing Room readies “Mud”

Staff at The Dressing Room Salon & Day Spa are gearing up for their Mudderella excursion to raise funds for Vallary Halladay. Halladay became a paraplegic in a swimming pool accident. After that, opinions diverge considerably regarding traffic issues, sightlines to businesses on the south side of Main Street and access to their doors.

Of paramount concern to business owners is a decided drop in foot traffic during the hours of the market. Whether it be Harmony Jewellers, Home

Hardware or Village Studio, all say traffic in their stores is negligible after the street is closed. While services seem to see little or no im-
