Tips for Maintaining Your Silver Jewelry

There is no miracle recipe, however, first point, remember not to wash or bathe in your silver jewelry. Also avoid wearing them to clean or practice your sports activity. Second, remember to store them in a jewelry box that is as airtight as possible, to avoid contact with air.

Finally, if you can, treat yourself to some rhodium-plated silver jewelry. The rhodium coating gives the silver a lot of shine and can be maintained at the jeweler or with home maintenance kits. And in the event that your jewelry has already blackened, you are left with the cleaning solution. The silver sulfide that has formed on your jewelry is completely insoluble, which is why a simple cleaning with soap and water cannot get rid of it.

Getting rid of it will require a chemical reaction, and luckily there are several options available to you. You need water to which you will add a product such as salt, lemon, white vinegar, toothpaste … All you have to do is rub the jewelry with a brush and then rinse them before drying them with a soft cloth. You can find all the details of my recipes in my methods of cleaning silver jewelry, so you can show off at parties with jewelry as sparkling as if it were new!
