Here in the 22nd chapter of the book of Proverbs we are instructed to take words of knowledge into our heart and keep them within our very being as Godly wisdom from the Lord. As the world around us brings sin into a place of popularity desired to be praised, we are to remain in God’s truth. The day is coming my friend when Jesus will judge the world in unrighteousness. I am told that the most popular biblical phrase today is, ‘Judge not’. This phrase seems to be the self-protective response of those who support the massive amount of unrighteousness that has overcome our world. We are to keep God’s word of wisdom ever ready on our lips, as one day Jesus will judge this sinful generation based upon His standard, not that of the world. Don’t be deceived by this wicked lukewarm generation and the values they applaud. One day everyone who has ever lived will kneel before Jesus Christ acknowledging Him as Lord to be judged by the things done while living in the flesh.

To merely say the words “thank you” would be such a lack of response that I felt the need to properly make a quick statement of our true feelings.

The support and connection that the NW MO community has reached out with, has our hearts over filled with a sense of ease and pride.

This easiness is from the knowledge that everyone has each other’s back with togetherness, and that is far from what we have been living with in society the last few years. Oh, how I wish that it hadn’t taken this unthinkable tragedy to bring this part of our character back.

There are various forms of pride.

Please let me explain: The morning of the fire, the determination of the volunteer fire department was un-waivered. They performed as though they were a professional unit from the city. The EMT’s worked with non-stop effort mixed with love and respect, with tears and unity amongst my family. Rest assured that this is what they do, but my point is to make this a common knowledge that we are so very proud to have these god-sent people having our backs and that their efforts excelled all possibilities in search of a different outcome.

The cards, letters, food, monetary donations, flowers, tears, prayers, have all been recognized by us the family. My search for words here has brought forward another sense of pride. The realization that so many people have in one way, or another did so because of positive feelings towards the family. How can one not be proud their children and grandchildren having affected so many others to prompt the response?

Now I can use the words THANK YOU, to everyone that has touched our lives after this tragedy!

The Albany R-III School would like to express our sincere gratitude to Jill Clair at Mosaic Medical Center – Albany, for choosing the Albany School Emergency Kit Fund as her charity of choice to receive a $500 donation in honor of her recognition as one of Mosaic’s 2021 Servant’s Heart Award recipients. The fund was established earlier in the fall of 2021 when the National Guard, located in Albany, rallied to get the community involved and partnered with the school to get emergency supplies and monetary donations for these emergency kits.

A HUGE “Thank You” to those men and women of the National Guard for seeing a need and making it their mission to help ensure our students and staff are well cared for with their hard work with this long lasting and impressionable donation.

~OBITUARY~ Roy E. Clark September 4, 1924 - January 15, 2022

Roy E. Clark, (97) of Albany, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Branson, MO. He was born on September 4, 1924, in Springfield, MO to the late Noah E. and Bertha F. Clark. Roy served in the Army-Air Force during WWII from 1942-1946 in the military police and then as a photographer. After serving his tour of duty he married the love of his life Virginia L. Spainhower on February 21, 1945, and spent 76 wonderful years together. Roy was a deacon and member of the Christian Church and the American Legion #106. He worked for the city of Albany as a lineman for several years, and then later he went to work for the Old American Insurance Company as a machine maintenance supervisor and retired after 30 years of service.

Roy enjoyed several activities throughout his life which included: golfing, fishing, visiting with friends, stocking, and feeding the fish at the Albany Country Club, and traveling with his wife Virginia to Texas every winter as snowbirds. What he loved doing most of all was spending time with family, who he loved dearly. Roy loved meeting and visiting with people. He never knew a stranger and would stop and talk to everyone, because he had such a gentle Christlike soul. Anyone who knew him or met him said that he was the sweetest man.

He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Clark; daughter, Connie Daly; sister, MaryLue Clark; two grandchildren, James (Gina) Funk, Susan (Roger) Horsman; five great-grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Jeffrey, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Funk, Madison (Taylor) Buerky, Austen Porter, Sarah Porter; and two great-great granddaughters, Kinslee and Addison Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and one sister.

Honoring his wishes, Roy was cremated under the direction of the Polley-Roberson Chapel, Albany, MO. His celebration of life service will be held at the Grandview Cemetery on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. The family is requiring for those attending services to please wear masks. ~OBITUARY~ Berniece Barber May 19, 1925 - January 23, 2022

Bernice Barber, 96, of Grant City, Missouri and a former resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away January 23, 2022 at Orilla’s Way in Grant City.

Berniece was born May 19, 1925, to the union of John D. & Doretha Grace Stephenson near Denver, Missouri. Her first 8 years of school was in a one room school (Pebble Ridge). She graduated from Albany High School in 1943. She then married Clair Parman in 1944. Clair was killed in the Battle of the Bulge.

To this union was born a daughter, Judith. In 1946, she married Ora Parman, they had a son David, and lived on a farm near Sheridan, Missouri. Ora passed away in 1968. In 1971, she married Bill Barber and they moved to St. Charles, Missouri.

Berniece sold Avon for 32 years.

Berniece joined the Lone Star Baptist Church as a teenager and remained a member until moving to St. Joseph in 1989. She then joined the Central Christian Church and later Maxwell Height Presbyterian Church.

Preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter Judi, Granddaughter Beth, Son David, Sister Phyllis, and Brothers Donald, John, Harold, Philip, and Dick.

Survivors include Daughter in Law Karla Parman, Granddaughter Lora Lee Potter, and Great Grandchildren Lora Elizabeth Clemmons, Buffy Trimble, Judith (Jay Cee) Wilkerson, Delaney Shields, Drew Potter and Madison Potter. Great-Great Grandchildren Brody Hawley, and Cortavious Wallace, Step Daughters, Cynthia Barber and Jan Heckadon.

Graveside Service and Burial was held January 28, 2022 at the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. Memorial Contributions may be made to Grandview or Groom Cemetery in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402. Online Condolences: www.robersonpolleychapel.com
