Meet Your Grand River Regional Ambulance District (GRRAD) Crew This week, we are honoring two of our Stanberry EMS heroes, Angel Roush and Kyle Townsend. Both of these EMTs travel quite a distance to serve our district. Angel lives in the small village of Worth, and Kyle lives in the large village of St. Joseph, but they both think of Stanberry as their “other” home. There have been weeks when they have spent as much time in Stanberry as in their family homes. Angel is the mother of two: Jaydon, 11 and Alaina, 9. She is blessed that her mother lives nearby and can help with the children when she works her long hours. Angel and her kids love to fish and camp together, and she is very well-rounded liking to crochet, hunt, swim, and play cards! Angel is also the selfappointed (and quite talented) decorator of our Stanberry office, inside and out. Angel has been an Advanced EMT for 22 years and is currently enrolled in a paramedic course. Her philosophy about working at GRRAD is this: “This is my family away from home. I look forward to coming to work; I love knowing that no matter the call, I’m helping someone. We GRRAD crews are supportive of each other, and we can overcome anything that we are faced with.” Kyle is a man of few words, but he is a very important part of our Stanberry station crew. Kyle spends many nights in our Stanberry “home away from home,” and his lovely wife, Carly, and adorable 3-yr. old little girl, Grace, sometimes come to visit because they miss him so much! He loves being with his family more than anything, but he has also dedicated the last 9 of his 10 EMT years being with his GRRAD family. Kyle says: “I want to give my wife and daughter everything I never had. Also, I want to be in my daughter’s life as much as possible because I didn’t have a dad growing up.” This statement exemplifies what a caring and loving person Kyle is, and why he is such a compassionate and valuable crew member who cares deeply about those he serves!
