Meet Your Grand River Regional Ambulance District (GRRAD) Crew This week, we are honoring two of our Stanberry EMS heroes, Angel Roush and Kyle Townsend. Both of these EMTs travel quite a distance to serve our district. Angel lives in the small village of Worth, and Kyle lives in the large village of St. Joseph, but they both think of Stanberry as their “other” home. There have been weeks when they have spent as much time in Stanberry as in their family homes. Angel is the mother of two: Jaydon, 11 and Alaina, 9. She is blessed that her mother lives nearby and can help with the children when she works her long hours. Angel and her kids love to fish and camp together, and she is very well-rounded liking to crochet, hunt, swim, and play cards! Angel is also the selfappointed (and quite talented) decorator of our Stanberry office, inside and out. Angel has been an Advanced EMT for 22 years and is currently enrolled in a paramedic course. Her philosophy about working at GRRAD is this: “This is my family away from home. I look forward to coming to work; I love knowing that no matter the call, I’m helping someone. We GRRAD crews are supportive of each other, and we can overcome anything that we are faced with.” Kyle is a man of few words, but he is a very important part of our Stanberry station crew. Kyle spends many nights in our Stanberry “home away from home,” and his lovely wife, Carly, and adorable 3-yr. old little girl, Grace, sometimes come to visit because they miss him so much! He loves being with his family more than anything, but he has also dedicated the last 9 of his 10 EMT years being with his GRRAD family. Kyle says: “I want to give my wife and daughter everything I never had. Also, I want to be in my daughter’s life as much as possible because I didn’t have a dad growing up.” This statement exemplifies what a caring and loving person Kyle is, and why he is such a compassionate and valuable crew member who cares deeply about those he serves!

(Phil 4:2, I implore Euodia, and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.) Upon first visiting Phillipi it was apparent that the women were very much a part of the spiritual community. As it was witnessed by the Apostle Paul and the Prophet Silas: (Acts 16:12, And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city, beside a river, where they went to pray: and we sat down, and spoke unto the women,) The epistle to the church in Philippi would have been penned some Ten years after the women gathered on the riverside in prayer and would bring about the 1st recorded acceptance of faith in Jesus Christ and the birth of the Church from this Roman Colony through the woman Lydia from Thyatira. We can speculate that these women, although active in the local church were in some sort of disagreement. Does this sound familiar as a reoccurrence in the modern church? As in many of the disagreements in the modern church we don’t know exactly what it was all about. Discontent and disagreement within the church can consist of a plethora of concerns but as Paul would state: (Phil 2:2-3, be of the same mind in the Lord and I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel,) Right there, the Apostle Paul doesn’t raise a concern with the issue in which these ladies seem to be of contention, rather His desire is that everyone keep mindful of the reason we have gathered together and that is of the ‘Mind of Christ’. The Bible would tell us that ‘All have sinned and are worthy of condemnation’ yet when we come to God in Christ Jesus, we are separated from the old self; yet the tempter, the world and the flesh are continually seeking an ‘unholy’ resurrection. Here at the end of this letter He gives us the problem at hand, with encouragement for others to help regain the focus and then the reason. (Phil 4:3, names are in the Book of Life.) With the assurance of our name being written in the Book of Life there should be but one result: (Phil 4:4, Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!) Focus on that which truly matters, the mind of Jesus Christ.
