Harmon A. “Shine” Kennedy

June 19, 1933 - January 10, 2023

Stanberry, MO: Harmon A. “Shine” Kennedy, 89, Stanberry, MO passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.

He was born June 19, 1933 in Guilford, Missouri the son of Edward and Eva (Buckingham) Kennedy.

On August 22, 1953, he married Betty Winter in Stanberry, MO. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2014.

Harmon served in the United States Army and was a member of the Raymond Sager American Legion Post #260 of Stanberry, MO. As the owner

and operator of a logging company, he was also the truck driver. He enjoyed camping and especially boating in South Missouri.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant twin sons; brothers, Kenneth Kennedy, Charley Kennedy and James “Pete” Kennedy.

Survivors include his son, Roger Kennedy, Stanberry, MO; daughter, Debbie (David) Silvey, Guilford, MO; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Military Rites followed the service at the Meeker Cemetery, Island City, MO. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or Raymond Sager Post #260 in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Stanberry, MO 64489.
