~OBITUARY~ CANDACE “CANDI” MACGILL
February 23, 1947 v December 27, 2023
Candace “Candi” MacGill, age 76, of Springfield, Missouri passed away with her family by her side on December 27, 2023. She was born on February 23, 1947 in Bethany, Missouri. She was the daughter of Verl and Glenna Lykins. Candi was a graduate of Albany High School. She married Ed MacGill of Kansas City, Missouri, March 29, 1969. They spent 55 devoted years together. Candi was very kind-hearted and lived with a heart full of hope. Candi’s family near and far were her world. She loved them all very much. She was the rock of her family, keeping everyone strong and put together. She especially treasured time with her grandchildren. Candi was a talented seamstress, sewing for many years over the course of her life. She loved gardening and playing the piano. She had great value for her work, until her illness forced her to resign. She was a financial advisor for Chase for several years and then she became a customer service representative for USAA that helped veterans with their insurance and banking needs. Candi is survived by her husband Ed of the home; a daughter Stephanie; her grandchildren, Riley and Katie; four sisters, Linda (Jack) Teel, Sue (Gary) Manion, Marilyn Teel, Missy (Les) Meek; and one brother Randy (Shannon) Lykins. Candi was preceded in death by her only son, Sean Patrick MacGill; her parents; Verl and Glenna Lykins; her in-laws and many other beloved family members. A visitation was held January 6, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. Cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory.

one billion flakes, that is according to the scientific community who study these things. I’ll have to rely on their word and trust the science for that one. Job was in a situation where he was pondering why bad things are allowed to happen to good people. In his thinking God must be orchestrating every event in the world for the reason of reward or punishment. God comes back to Job with a question concerning infinite wisdom in the creation of something, that to this very day cannot be explained by modern science; how it is that no two snowflakes are alike? When we look at life, do we take it in with a sense of awe at the mysteries of the world around us? Did we give thanks to God for the awesome weather we’ve enjoyed for the past several months? Have we enjoyed this wintery day with a sense of appreciation for our family, friends, comfort, warmth, and sense of security? How much time did we spend thanking God for the absence of hunger, a full stomach? If we try to determine why certain things happen as they do be sure to remember that God is everywhere and there are and will always be those things we cannot explain, so accept these happenings as a part of life just like the simple snowflake, and never forget to keep looking up as our redemption draws nigh. Thank you, God, for the treasury that abounds through the mystery of that tiny little snowflake.

~OBITUARY~ SANDRA JEAN RUNYAN
February 15, 1958 v January 5, 2024
Sandra “Sandy” Jean Runyan, 65, passed away at her home, surrounded by her husband and kids January 5, 2024. Sandy was born February 15, 1958 in Jamesport, MO the daughter of Harley and Barbara Jean (Hibbs) Willis. She was a 1977 graduate of Pattonsburg High School, Pattonsburg, Mo. On May 22, 1977 she was baptized at Oak Ridge Church. Sandy spent a large part of her life in food service. Beginning at a young age working at the cafe in Pattonsburg to later serving at Toot-Toots in Bethany, Mo. She then spent over a decade preparing meals at South Harrison High School. She also dedicated 17 years to the cap factory, Head-ware USA, in Pattonsburg. Sandy’s work didn’t begin and end with the punch of a timecard. She raised chickens, hair sheep, a large herd of goats, and was known by many as “The Goat Lady”. She had a love for her goats and could be found in the barn before and after work, tending to them and spoiling a select few. She worked cattle alongside Ronnie filling syringes, sorting tags and keeping track of everything. Her evenings and weekends were spent following grandkids all over cheering them on in their various activities. There was never enough time in the day she would say. On July 30, 2000 Sandy married her best friend and the love of her life, Ronald (Ronnie) Runyan. The bond they shared is one many will only dream of. If there was ever a match made in heaven it was them. Ronnie survives of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents; father & mother-in-law, Delbert Clair & Carol Rea Runyan; sister Elenetta (Ann) Cully, and brother, Raymond Willis.
