Before we came to the knowledge and understanding concerning spiritual matters, we would have been guided down the trail of worldliness of that which is popular bringing about assurance in fleshly matters; i.e. ‘Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life’ in a temporary sense but now we are alive in the spirit of holiness and righteousness with the desire to walk as Jesus walked, speak as Jesus would speak and love with compassion as God in the desire of the goodness in benevolent love for one another. This is what the Apostle Paul is expressing to the churches in Colossae and Laodicea as being grounded, rooted, and matured to the place of producing fruits of righteousness overflowing with thanksgiving to the degree that others would recognize Jesus in us. Come to Jesus with an open heart seeking the promises to come. Have you considered this? (Col 3:14, But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.) Put on Love; Yes, before we begin the day we are to put on Love. Put on Love before we take that first step in appreciation of the promise we have accepted with an overwhelming sense of Thanksgiving. This is the basis of many a phrase having to do with a daily exhibition of faith, internally and externally. Think about it this way; How is your daily walk with Jesus? Pause or as the Psalmist would say, Selah. The bible often speaks of attributes consistent with the Holy Spirit that are to be evident in our lives if we’re ‘Born Again’. (Col 3:12-13, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.) Now, and possibly in retrospect review your steps asking God faithfully in the name of Jesus to see His footprints as we go about our daily walk.

Kay has finished a wonderful life here on earth! She was at her best when you were at your worst. She blessed the lives of thousands with her smile, laughter, warmth, energy, and love of life, family, and friends. Rita Kay Thomas was born at home on April 14, 1949 in Alanthus Grove, Missouri and entered eternal life on November 26, 2023 in Springdale, AR. Kay was a shining light to everyone she met and overcame a lifetime of adversity. Her father was killed in a truck accident when she was just 2 years old. When she was 11, her mother and stepfather were killed in a boating accident. She was raised by the families of her brother and sisters until she entered the college scene. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and made a courageous decision to fight the disease her way. To her, quality was more important than longevity. ❦ Kay received a BS in Education from Northwest Missouri State, was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and active in the KC Alpha Alumni Chapter. She served as past President of both the Northwest Alumni Association and Foundation Board. She loved the Bearcats, and Chiefs, with all her heart! Kay taught second grade in Weston, MO for 13 years then pivoted to a sales career, selling educational tools to school districts throughout Northwest Missouri, finishing her career as a VP of Sales. At her time of death, she was still making a difference in the lives of others as a Client Representative at Nicholson Meyer Capital Management in Kansas City. Kay treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She attended as many school, sporting, and family events as she could and never missed sending a birthday card. Kay was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Faunielle Wilkerson Thomas, her brother Archie Thomas, and nephew Todd Campbell. She is survived by her sisters Alta Shineman and Judy Griffin; sister-in-law Peggy Thomas; stepbrothers Ron, Joe (Peggy) and John Holmes; stepsister Mary Sue (Keith) Fogle; nieces Connie Jo (Brad) Bowen and Ginger (Eddie) Edwards; nephews Logan Campbell, Roger Griffin, Boyd (Crystal) Thomas and Clayton Ashlock; great-nieces Nikki Edwards and Bailey Small; great-nephews Brandon Miller, Knox Griffin, Sawyer Campbell, Griffin Clampit, Wynter Clampit and Eddie Edwards Junior; five great-great nieces and nephews; Erin Kyle, a very special friend and supporter; as well as extended family and friends. Celebration of life was Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the United Methodist Church in Stanberry, MO. Inurnment will take place in Stanberry in the Spring. The family wishes for memorial donations to be made to Northwest Foundation designated to the Rita Kay Thomas Memorial Scholarship. Frances “Annette” (Wiley) (Marsh) Jones was born into her legacy as a warrior June 19, 1947, to Ray Franklin and Letha Mae (Findley) Wiley. She gained her wings surrounded by her children and so much love on November 25, 2023. Annette was a younger half-sister to Robert Davidson and Dorothy Wiley (a sister she never met) and an older sister to Danny and Denny Wiley. She would often speak of her younger years as trying to keep the boys “on track.” Occasionally that consisted of locking them out of the house to get her house chores completed. Annette graduated from Albany High School in 1965, as a Warrior. A few months after graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Marsh. To this union three children were born, Jeffrey Alan, Jennifer Rae, and Jill Annette. She never shied away from hard work, even at an early age. She worked at the Stanberry Cap Factory, but her true favorite work was at Piz Ridge on the ❦ family dairy farm, now known as the “Marsh Place”. The drought in the mid 1980s took a toll on the finances, marriage, and her mental health. Annette later married Ronald Jones, Jr. with whom she had a son, Justin Wiley. Now having even more family, she enjoyed catching up on the phone. She loved hearing about all of her nieces and nephews. Annette loved taking car rides with the radio up and reading a good book. She often visited the Gentry County Library and the Albany Carnegie Public Library. Annette loved to learn and teach. She taught her children the meaning of love, perseverance, kindness, caring, compassion, and some stubbornness. She was so very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She loved to hear stories as to what they were up to and all of their orneriness. She continued her legacy as a Warrior after battling mental health issues, the death of her eldest son, cancer in 1995, the death of her husband, broken bones, cancer again in 2015, more broken bones, and more cancer. Through all of this you would never once hear her complaining. She would even go as far as saying cancer saved her life after the death of her son. Annette was a true caregiver. Annette naturally connected with people throughout Gentry County, Missouri and beyond. She loved people, and she loved giving back in ways both big and small. Annette continued to touch lives at both King City and Pineview Manor. Bean auctions were her passion while living at Pine View Manor. Annette loved a good “party,” dancing with her kids in the dining halls on holidays, being a competitor at all games especially at UNO with her daughter. She loved a good purse, pair of shoes, and fashion shows, as well as always keeping everything and everyone in order. Annette was preceded in death by parents Ray & Letha Wiley, son Jeffrey Marsh, husband Ronald Jones, Jr., brother Robert Davidson, and roommates at King City and Pine View Manors. Survivors include brothers Danny Wiley and Denny Wiley, children Jennifer (Doug) Waugh, Jill (Steve) Clair, Justin (Silver) Jones, grandchildren Zach and Stuart Waugh, Madison and Garrett Clair, and little Miss Baby Jones arriving in May, and great-granddaughter Alaska Clair. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Enyart Cemetery or Pine View Manor Bean Auction in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402. ~OBITUARY~ CHARLOTTE SUE BLESSING
October 12, 1938 v November 28, 2023 Charlotte “Sue” Blessing, 85, a lifelong resident of New Hampton, MO, peacefully passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023, in her home. She was born October 12, 1938, in Bethany, MO, the daughter of D.E. and Eleanor (Stevens) Barnett. Sue married Harold Rex (Red) Blessing on December 11, 1957. To this union, four children were born, Tammy, Marianne, Peggy, and Danny. She was dedicated to her family. Sue helped Red run his plumbing business. As the children got older, she ventured out and tried her hand at working, first at Rival Manufacturing, then found her place while working at the Northwest Missouri Area on Aging office. She always had time for family. She would spend most weekends keeping company with her grandchildren fishing, or just hanging out. Her family always looked forward to her Sunday dinners. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Red; her parents; stepfather, Earl Rawlings; three brothers Darrell, Gary and Charles; Grandson, Brian Pigg; honorary grandson, Clint Starmer. Sue is survived by her children, Tammy (Rick) Miller, Worth, MO, Marianne (Robert) Sutton, Albany, MO, Peggy (Allen) Pigg, Worth, MO, and Danny (Maurita) Blessing, Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Eric (Kelley) Miller, Jeremy Sutton, Ashton Miller (Samantha), Randy Pigg, Amanda (Brian) Shannon, Josh (Christy) Sutton, Christopher (Beth) Blessing, Nicholas (Andrea) Blessing, Zachary Blessing, Charlotte (Chad Ratliffe) Blessing; honorary grandchildren, Tyler Starmer (Kyla), Jacob Starmer (Krissi), and Emily Starmer (Ethan); 17 greatgrandchildren; sister, Peggy Harris; sister-in-law, Linda Barnett; lots of nieces and nephews, Debbie (Steve) Starmer;. ~OBITUARY~ DARRAL LYNN CRABTREE
October 6, 1950 v November 22, 2023
Darral Lynn Crabtree, 73, Pattonsburg, MO ❦ passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by his children and other beloved family members. Darral was born October 6th, 1950 in the family home in rural Pattonsburg, Missouri to Will Ed and Carletta (Salmon) Crabtree. As a child, his family also lived in Bethany, Missouri and Sioux Falls, South Dakota before he graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1969. Shortly after graduation, Darral enlisted to serve his Country with the United States Marine Corps, serving as a lead man M-60 gunner in the Vietnam War. On August 2nd, 1970, Darral sustained gunshot wounds and was treated on the battlefield by Steven “Doc” Taylor, who would become a lifelong friend. Darral was transported to several different medical facilities around the world, leading him to being lost in the system. This led to confusion and heartache for his loved ones at home, due to his ❦ unknown location and condition. Darral was the recipient of a Purple Heart Medal, which he patiently waited 33 years to receive. Serving his Country was not the only thing that made Darral proud, as loyalty to his family and friends encompassed his entire life. Darral devoted many years working for the Pattonsburg and Barnard School Districts, as well as other jobs where his focus was helping others. He genuinely loved chatting with the school kids and throughout his career, he made many lifelong friends that he held dear to his heart. Darral married his beloved Norma on October 15th, 2005. From hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting, cornhole tournaments, darts & poker games, and feeding critters, to watching grandkids run wild, giggling at his kids pestering one another, attending ballgames and school programs, and showing genuine care for everyone, Darral’s teachings weren’t spoken, but shown by example. His immense love for his people was always evident with gentle smiles and the best hugs. Each day he spent with his grandkids was “a perfect day”. Darral never did anything alone, proving his authentic, selfless nature. Even though Darral didn’t know many strangers, if he met one, they’d be greeted with bib overalls and a cutoff t-shirt, bare feet, a toothpick, and his signature smile. Darral is survived by his beloved children, Mary Ann (Jason) Teel, Carletta (Mitch Singleteary) Crabtree and Carsley (Katie) Crabtree; step-children, Brian (Sandy) Youngs, Becky (Mike) Amundson and Brad (Jenny) Youngs; grandchildren, Joel (Hannah), Jared (McKayla Allen), Caleb (Kelsey), Cooper (Sidney Gibson) Teel, Kayla and Jacob Huhs, Shannen and Ashten (Tristan West) Thompson and Daisy Crabtree, Bailey Youngs, Payton, Carson and Aiden Amundson, Savannah Stirling, and Lauren and Korbey Youngs; great-grandchildren, Emberly and Elva Teel, Anna and Maggie Francis, Axel Fry, Titus Youngs, and Nash Youngs; siblings, Larry (Jill) Crabtree, Carol Herrel, Geneva (Frank) Schneider and many nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Ed and Carletta Crabtree, wife, Norma, sister, Cathy Crabtree, and granddaughter, Sidney Youngs. “Don’t be a quitter, have courage to put a cause above yourself.” - From Darral’s Bible Funeral Services were held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Pattonsburg R-II School, Pattonsburg, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial with Military Rites followed in Salmon Cemetery, Pattonsburg, MO. Memorials may be made to Salmon Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 152, Pattonsburg, MO 64670.
