The Island City Christian & Calvary Stanberry Churches (John 3:3, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”) Jesus came to this earth to fulfil God’s plan for salvation, that is to provide a way to open the gates of heaven for the faithful to enter. He was addressing a man of faith, Nicodemus, a member of the Pharisees responsible for conducting Temple worship by connecting with God through the law of temple sacrifice. Jesus had been going around the countryside sharing God’s wisdom and performing many notable miracles such as healing the physical body and giving understanding to the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning the Messiah. Jesus not only healed physical infirmities such as giving sight to the blind, alleviating leprosy, and allowing cripples to walk again, but He also displayed power over the spiritual as those poor individuals possessed by demons were freed from the bondage of Satan. Nicodemus came to Jesus acknowledging that He had to be from God as no one could perform these miracles unless they were from God. Jesus answered his question with a statement revealing what was really in his heart, that was, ‘How can a man enter Heaven’? ‘You must be born again’, ‘Born not only of the flesh but born of the spirit’. You must be changed from an earthly attitude to an eternal reliance upon God’s Holy Spirit as we seek to live a life abiding in the righteousness of God embracing life as temporal, looking forward to the promise of eternal bliss with an attitude of gratitude. This attitude of gratitude grows as we become more and more reliant on the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ for wisdom, not only in this life but also life in the eternal. Nicodemus would seek to understand, ‘How can a man be born again when he is old’? Jesus would answer with wisdom from one who was, is, and exist eternally by giving credit to the Holy Spirit who is a mystery to those living in the flesh. Born again is described through the ceremony of the water immersion baptism. (Romans 6:1-2, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?).

Be it advised that on April 5, 2022, an election will be held to elect one (1) Director to represent the following subdistrict of the Public Water Supply District No. 1 in Worth County, Missouri. Filings must be made after December 7, 2021 at 8 AM and before December 28, 2021 at 5 PM to Bobbi Gladstone Clerk of the Public Water Supply District No. 1, PO Box 467, Grant City, MO 64456. Subdistricts number 5 (five) - 3 years. The individuals elected will serve the term above indicated.
