We have yet to complete that which God has desired for us in relationship to righteousness as we are continually growing in grace and wisdom. We grow in understanding and knowledge as we look forward to the time when we will kneel before Him declaring Jesus as Lord in judgement. Judgement you say. Yes, we will all come before Jesus in judgement, the unfaithful to eternal torment in the lake of fire and the faithful to receive crowns of righteousness. One thing about being born again is the forgetting those things which are behind. Those things that litter the road we once traveled but since have moved on. It may be a moment in time we never want to re-live or words we can never take back. Are you born again? Leave those moments behind, neither to be given as an excuse for the past or to tarnish the joy in which we now live. The flesh will make excuses for worldly behavior as being justified and Satan will try to bring us down in an attempt to rob us of the sense of peace we now enjoy in Jesus Christ. Look to Jesus.

The Albany Heritage Society would like to thank all the vendors and patrons who braved the unusually warm autumn day to attend Heritage Day on Saturday, September 30, 2023. We would also like to thank the local businesses who sponsored the event through donations to the raffle. Our heartfelt thanks also goes out to the local people and merchants who have sponsored the Albany Heritage Museum through their monetary donations. The day was filled with fun for all ages from the blacksmithing demonstrations to the kiddie train rides and inflatable obstacle course. Patrons were able to visit the Heritage Hall and Museum to see some of the miniexhibits organized by curator Rhett Haynie, or partake in an interactive display by participating in the Pepsi Challenge, popular in the 1980s. Shoppers could find buys on Scentsy products, quilts, honey, ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy, mini donuts, jewelry, artistic signs, pumpkins and gourds. Those up for a little more a risky endeavor could purchase raffle tickets to try winning a prize or try their hand at a few contests such as the frog jumping contest, bubble blowing contest, and bobbing for apples. There was also musical entertainment to soothe the soul. Live entertainment included performances by Tucker Owens, Carrie Danner, and Katie Quick. The Heritage Society would also like to extend its thanks to Dustin and Stacy Freeman for volunteering to be in the dunk stand. Thank you to Virginia E. Geroge’s Zepplin and the Gentry County Sheriff’s Department’s Jesse for making appearances at Heritage Day. We also need to thank Ezra Dierdoff and the Albany Fire Department for providing rides in the fire truck. We could not have made the day possible without our many sponsors and volunteers. The Albany Heritage Society is making plans for the next Heritage Day, September 28, 2024. We invite you to attend our upcoming events such as our Haunted House on Saturday, October 28, 2023 and monthly Bingo game on the first Saturday of every month. Both to be held at the Albany Heritage Hall and Museum at 408 S. Birch St. Albany, MO. Our next Bingo night will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. There will be a dinner offered before Bingo starting at 6:00 p.m.

BILL NOBLE
September 13, 1938 ❖ October 8, 2023 Bill Noble, 85, Stanberry, MO passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at a Stanberry, MO nursing home. He was born on September 13, 1938, in Albany, Missouri the son of George Daniel and Charlotta Gail (Beal) Noble. On May 28, 1960, he married Luella Barton in Whitesville, MO. She survives of the home. Bill ran Billʼs Furnace and Repair and also Snip and Billʼs Appliance and Repair. He was a member and a longtime Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Stanberry. He ❦ was an avid collector of antiques and loved attending auctions. He also loved to camp and travel and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Noble and a nephew, Junior Noble. In addition to his wife, Luella, Bill is survived by his children, Pam (Mark) Jensen, Gene (Lynn) Noble both of Stanberry, MO, Valerie Philipp, Englewood, FL, and Brad (Anita) Noble, Stanberry, MO; 12 grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) Jensen, Daniel (Jessica) Jensen, Aaron (Tracy) Jensen, Luke (Sierra) Jensen, Jessica (Levi) McGinley, Cassie (Corey) Weatherd, David (Mary) Noble, Brian (Korinne) Noble, Joel Philipp, Madison Philipp, Aimee Noble, and Seth (Katelyn) Noble and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Burial followed in Hall Cemetery, Stanberry, MO. Memorials may be made to the Bill Noble Memorial Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Stanberry, MO 64489.
