Roger grew up frequenting the Grand River Bowling Alley with his parents, which turned him into a talented and competitive bowler, bowling three perfect games with a score of 300, one 299 and one 298, respectively. Roger proudly wore one of his 300 game rings on his right hand, a warning to anyone who thought about challenging him to a match.
Similarly, Roger never turned down a game of pitch or dominoes. He passed on his love of playing pitch to his nieces and nephews, taking any opportunity he could to teach them the game, but didn’t hesitate to defeat his competition, no matter how little or cute.

Roger was a devoted supporter of his community and, on any given weekday or night, could be found at an Albany sporting event. He was also a friend to many who could count on him to bail them out of a jam no matter what time. When he was not supporting his favorite team or driving a wrecker, you would probably find him fishing on the river or hunting in the woods.

Also, a huge thanks to the vendors; Girratono Meat Co., The Set Apart Sip, Kona Ice, and the Albany High School football and cheerleading squads.Wehad a small army of wonderful volunteers that helped at the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. Thank you to EACH and every one of you. A special thanks goes to Brent Cline, Heidi Deardorff with Parents as Teachers, the Nation al Guard Armory, the Albany High School, The New Shopper & Printery, and the United Meth odist Church for use of their resources; as well as the City of Albany for letting us throw this party!
(John 16:23-24, Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.) Why do true believers in Jesus Christ pray in the ‘Name of Jesus’? Jesus is telling us that when we pray in His name only, He ensures us that we will receive His presence in Joy. The joy Jesus is referring to is that which does not depend on worldly happenstance as our relationship with God grows. (2 Peter 3:18, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.) Growing in reliance to the grace from above while trusting His word and desiring to obey; His joy will seek out those places within our spiritual self where moments of anxiety may have once resided. (John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.) How can this be? This is due to receiving the spirit of ‘Truth’, the gift of God that fills our very being with the ‘Joy of Jesus’. (Luke 11:13, How much more your heavenly Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask)(John 16:13, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth) As I ponder this sense of Joy we have in Jesus as compared to the world of confusion with so many denying the truth I can’t help but feel sorry for those who have been deceived into believing in an imaginary reality. The apostle Paul would speak of times such as these: (2 Thess. 2:10, and with all unrighteous de ception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.) Truth, that which has been questioned from the beginning and is debatable on a variety of subjects. Even when innocence was obvious Pilate questioned Jesus. (John 18:38, What is Truth?) Truth is right here in the Word of God and has been preserved for thousands of years for you and I as Jesus said: (John 14:6, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to God, the Father but by me) In the name of Jesus,
