(Jude 7, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.) The Holy Bible is a book of instruction with examples so no one would be of excuse when the time of judgement comes. We are told in various places of consequence for engaging in sin. There are those who question God’s judgement as they embrace the current climate of the ‘Lukewarm church’. Many of the faithful and unfaithful will claim that their god is a god of love who would never send anyone to eternal fire and damnation, yet here in the New Testament we are instructed to look at how God judges in times past as examples of things to come to those who fail to heed His righteous instruction. The word of God is quite clear concerning sexual purity and the conscious effort required to keep oneself pure. In another place the Apostle Paul encourages the faithful to be watchful as to our actions, emotions, and thoughts as an attitude of complacency will bring about eternal consequence just as in times past. (1Cor 10:6-10, Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twentythree thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.) Consequence for choices made are a part of life, but modern psychology seems to be erasing from the mindset of society. God’s word is enduring and eternal with instruction for righteousness. If you find yourself being tempted in deeds of unrighteousness, be aware as judgement will befall one day as everyone will give an account before God almighty. Turn to Jesus in repentance and receive forgiveness.

~OBITUARY~ Norma Aleene (Paxson) (Batson) Marsh March 13, 1928 - September 6, 2021
~OBITUARY~ Kathy June Pittsenbarger Walker August 16, 1950 - September 6, 2021
Norma Aleene (Paxson) (Batson) Marsh passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at her home in Albany, Mo., Gentry County. During her final days she was able to be at home with her family and her care taker Samantha Greenwell. Aleene was born March 13, 1928 and raised in the Albany area by her adoptive parents Fred and Maude (Cheatham) Paxson. Her biological mother was Maude’s sister Emogene, also of Albany. Fred Paxson’s family was from the Allendale area so Aleene had many contacts in Worth County also where she spent a few of her early years. Before she started school the family moved to Albany. Aleene loved school and made many lifelong friends with both students and teachers. Her constant companion was her cousin Louise Barnes Ballard who many people believed to be her sister. Aleene was proud to have grown up in the west area of Albany known as Drakesville. Many of her close relatives lived in this area also along with several close friends. It was indeed an extended family with Maude and Fred helping to feed and raise many cousins and neighborhood children. To this day many Albany citizens still called her by her family nickname “Babe” and her parents ”Aunt Maude” and “Uncle Fred”. It was at this time that Aleene met her best friend and husband “to be” Billy Batson. Aleene and Bill were married at the Assembly of God Church in Albany in 1948. They were inseparable until Bill joined the Army also in 1948. Aleene stayed home working part-time jobs and helping out her parents. Both Aleene and Bill learned at an early age to be hard workers. Their family began to grow soon after and Aleene became a full-time mother and housewife. She also did child care for many of her friends and neighbors and luckily discovered her first love--children. From that time on their house was filled with children of all ages, from newborn to high school. Bill’s pre-mature death in 1968 changed Aleene’s plans. She still didn’t give up child-care, but it was necessary to find a second career. She went to work as a Caregiver at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital. There she was a nursing assistant for over 20 years. Still she loved the newborns and children the most and spent most of her time around the nursery. Ironically, Aleene met her second husband, J.D. Marsh while he was a patient at the hospital after a fall from a horse. They became fast friends and were married shortly afterward at the Baptist Church of which they became members. Aleene continued working at the hospital while her children were in school. J.D.’s kids were about the same age so the two families fit well. Aleene persuaded J.D. to leave the insurance sales business so he could be around more. They both worked at the hospital until their retirement as nursing assistants, therapy aides and ambulance crew members. Aleene and J.D. planned to retire and do some traveling but spent most of their time with their own children and grandchildren. They did travel often to Arizona to visit relatives but also attended many high school and junior high sports events all over north Missouri. Aleene came to enjoy her grandchildren’s games much more than her own children’s games. J.D. died of a heart attack in 2000, and Aleene spent the next several years in Albany with her children and grandchildren spread around north Missouri. She really enjoyed their visits and when the great-grandchildren began to arrive it was even more fun. Aleene was preceded in death by her parents Maude and Fred Paxson, both husbands Bill Batson and J.D. Marsh, infant son Donnie in 1951 and a son Bud Batson in 2017. Also preceding Aleene in death were her sisters Shirley (and husband Jim) Spiegel of Arizona, Mae (and husband Glen) Killingsworth of Arizona and JoAnn Tulley of Nebraska. Brothers Billy Paul Barnes (and wife Alna) of Minnesota and John Sexton of Washington. Survivors include children Jerry (Wanda) Batson of Gallatin, Mo., Linda Whitaker, Bobby (Cindy) Batson and daughter in-law Linda Batson all of Albany. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include J.D.’s children Cathy (George) Asbury of Boonville, Mo., Debbie (Bob) Sanger of St. Joseph, Mo., Terry (Rachel) Marsh of Savannah, Mo., and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Aleene is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services were held Friday, September 10 at the First Baptist Church in Albany. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. Kathy June Pittsenbarger Walker, 71, Pattonsburg, MO passed peacefully in the presence of her husband and two daughters on Monday, September 6, 2021, after a short, yet courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on August 16, 1950, in rural Pattonsburg, MO to parents, Junior and Lois (Simpson) Pittsenbarger, Kathy June was welcomed to the world, awaited by her big sister, Betty Ann. The family remained in Pattonsburg until a subsequent move to Coffey, MO when Kathy was in the fifth grade. Kathy graduated from Coffey High School in May of 1968. A lifelong union was formed at Coffey Baptist Church, amid a snowstorm, on December 27, 1968, when Kathy wed her husband, Gene. Kathy temporarily left northwest Missouri to attend Aladdin Beauty School in Kansas City, MO where she graduated in May 1969. Kathy started her career under Beryldene Clark and soon thereafter opened her own salon, Kathy’s Beauty Hut, one-year postgraduation in May of 1970, at the age of 19. The Walker Family of two moved into their forever home in Pattonsburg, MO in September of 1975. Some two years later in October 1977, Kathy’s prayers of a daughter became reality when Jennifer Jaye was welcomed to the world. And four short years later in December 1981, Kristin Kaye, was welcomed into the Walker Family, the Lord providing just what Kathy had ordered once again. Kathy began working at Lisa’s Sassy Scissors in 1984 where she remained employed some thirty-plus years through many of life’s ups and downs, including a relocation to the new town in 1996. After only ever believing girls were the way to go, the Lord blessed Kathy with a son, Chris, and a grandson, Zach, in February of 2003. She went from KJ to Miss Kathy June as Zach affectionately called her. Her life and heart were forever changed when she earned the title of Grandma in April 2005 with the birth of Laila Jaye, her Dear #1. Some three years later, KJ’s dream came true when a second beautiful granddaughter was born giving her the next generation of sisters. In March of 2008, her love doubled and she received another little best friend with the birth of Jaida Christal, Dear #2. And that love boundlessly overflowed with the addition of Dear #3, Gia Kristin, in July of 2011. Her family was officially completed by the addition of a second son, Sidney, in October of 2013. In addition to being a hair stylist for fifty-plus years, she and her dear friend, Donna, had a cleaning business with several clients at Lake Viking. She loved the work she did and always said there is nothing like a fresh hairdo or a clean house to make you feel good and she could provide that! Kathy accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at the Coffey Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Pattonsburg Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School secretary and Head of the Dining Committee. She was also a member of P.E.O., Chapter BC, Pattonsburg. During her recent battle with pancreatic cancer, Kathy June was blessed to receive wonderful care at the hands of some incredible caregivers, including but not limited to: Amy Heldenbrand, Cameron Regional Medical Center, North Kansas City Hospital, her home health nurses, her Pattonsburg EMTs and countless others. Throughout her recent journey, she never missed an opportunity to speak of the love of Jesus and encouraged others to have faith like she had. Her Facebook posts would often conclude, Our God is in Control. Her faith was not something she wore but something that was interwoven into the very fabric of her being. Kathy June never knew a stranger, only friends she had not yet met. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Lois (Simpson) Pittsenbarger, her in-laws, Todd and Gertrude Walker, and a stillborn granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, “Mean” Gene, of Pattonsburg, MO; her daughters Jennifer Jaye and Kristin Kaye; her sons-in-law, Christopher Troxler and Sidney Smith, all of Kansas City, MO; her grandson, Zach, of Fort Worth, TX; her three granddaughters, Dear #1, Laila Jaye, Dear #2, Jaida Christal, and Dear #3, Gia Kristin. Kathy June is also survived by her beloved sister, Betty Ann and family, Gary, Lezley, Christopher, Kelly, Tyler and Melvin. Additionally, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. KJ will be missed by her family, her friends and all that had the joy of knowing her. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11 at the First Baptist Church, Pattonsburg, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial was in Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, Pattonsburg, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, First Baptist Church of Pattonsburg Dining Committee, and/or National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (www.npcf.us) in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 152, Pattonsburg, MO 64670. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com

She loved them all very much and enjoyed time spent together above all.
