Oh, and Steve loves his cards, phone calls and visits! Words cannot begin to express our gratitude and thankfulness for all our great friends and the outpouring of love shown to us. And last, but not least, are our 2 sons, their families and my sister, who have stepped up and took over so many responsibilities. Thank You, and May God Bless You All.

The Island City Christian & Calvary Stanberry Churches (John 15:18-19, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.) The world hates a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. I can say with certainty that this is not the gospel message most identify with who consider themselves as Christians. Why, might you ask?

Wow! Right here it is in the Gospel of John an apparent contradiction in God’s Word. Let me assure you it’s only a contradiction to those who haven’t read God’s word, verse by verse in context. In John ‘7’ Jesus has been ministering and knows that those of religious might are seeking to silence him so he is not going to go to the festival of booths with his follow ers; although he would enter another way to not draw attention to himself until he was ready to speak. Here in John ‘7’ the disciples are followers who would stand in the background listening in amazement and awe as Jesus reveals the truth of His Prophetic ministry. (Rev 19:10) Because Jesus was confronting the religious hypocrites who were acting like: their father, the devil who is a murderer and the father of lies from the beginning, (John 8:44) they were intent on murdering Him. As we progress from chapter ‘7 to 15’ Jesus is letting the disciples know that when they begin their ministry they too will be hated, harassed and killed. In John ‘7’ they are merely followers while in John ‘15’ & ‘16:2’, They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. (1 John 2:16, For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.) would like to thank all who made the Albany Heritage Society Gun and Knife Show a huge success! Let’s go back a few chapters in the gospel of John where a person might think they see a contradiction as to how a believer is viewed outside the walls of the church. (John 7:7, The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.)
