The Island City Christian & Calvary Stanberry Churches (3 John:1-4, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.) ‘Truth is the property of being in accord with fact or reality. In everyday language, truth is typically ascribed to things that aim to represent reality or otherwise correspond to it, such as beliefs, propositions, and declarative sentences. Truth is usually held to be the opposite of falsehood.’ Here in these 3 little letters from John to the churches of Asia he uses the word Truth 19 times as of importance to a believer’s relationship with God. Truth, that which is the goal of the god of this world to open the minds of humankind to speculation. Truth is no longer an absolute not to be questioned but a mindset left open to emotion, personal taste or desire. Modern truth is as a pie tasting competition of which one judge likes apple and another likes cherry and so forth. The truth may be that all the pies are good but selective truth varies in the flesh just as John would say. (1 John 2:16, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.) Opinion is a good thing when judging pies but concerning matters of God and entrance into the eternal there is but one way and that is the Truth of God through His Word. (John 14:6, Jesus said to him, (“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.) We are living in the last days as the ‘Author of Confusion’ is deceiving as many question matters of absolute truth. Could you have ever imagined members of our society claiming to be something completely different than they are in the physical? Does a person become a chicken merely because they claim to identify as being something fowl? Stand fast in the Truth of God in Jesus Christ, now is the time to stand firmly on the Word of God.
