(Proverbs 2:7-9, Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die): Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches—Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, And say, “Who is the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal And profane the name of my God.) Here’s a proverb from Agur and how to have contentment in life. His 1st request comes to mind every time I watch the news or read a so-called news item. O’ how I wish the attitude of reporting the news was the same as the vow taken when someone appears before a judge in the court of law. ‘Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God’. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could turn back the clock on society and erase all the false narratives being propagated with the misleading opinions from propagandists by the socio-economic powers to be? It’s been said that a conspiracy theory becomes truth when given a little time. It’s a sad statement but over the past few years this has been proven to be the truth. In our current society the god of this world has cast the veil of original sin upon an unbelieving world. If only the bible was taught as absolute truth how different our world would be. There are many who claim to be something that they are not, of which is the definition of a hypocrite, that is someone proclaims something as fact when it is not. The bible speaks of Hypocrites right along with Liars. (Matt 23:15, Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.)(Rev. 21:18, But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”) Yes, all liars and hypocrites will eventually spend eternity in the lake of fire. So sad that many choose to ignore the truth of God’s holy word and remain in original sin, the act of self-choosing a personal opinion concerning good and evil.

BOB BLYTHE

September 29, 1928 - August 12, 2023

We will always remember Bob Blythe fondly as a friendly man filled with love and passion for his family and community. Born September 29, 1928 in Gallatin, Missouri, he fulfilled a life journey that concluded on August 12, 2023.

Bob was a devoted husband to Evelyn (Metzinger) Blythe, a loving father to sons Mark (Tresa) and Matt (Stacy), and a cheerleader to his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His supportive presence will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Brett (Jena), Kenzie, Paige (Darren), Torri (Christian) and great-grandchildren Avery, Kyrie, Braydi, Collins, Raye, and Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville E. and Helen Z. (Minnick) Blythe.

Bob had a decorated history of service, having

served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was also known for his community involvement, active as a leader for Boy Scout Troop 102 in Albany, Missouri, and mentoring young men as a Medicine Man for the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He took pleasure in coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, and cherished the time spent watching his grandchildren play ball games.

The memory of Bob’s friendly nature will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will forever remind us to live fully, love unconditionally, lead with kindness and always eat dessert.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream was held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph, Missouri. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri. The family suggests memorial gifts to Camp Geiger. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.

Sarah was an avid gardener, baker, and had a vivacious love for animals. Throughout the years, she has given friends tons of garden

produce, baked thousands of casseroles and desserts, and cared for hundreds of kittens and puppies.

Sarah was considered a member of the Newman family for most of her life. Jim and Debby’s children, Cody, Heather, Hayley, and Jacob shared any good times with Sarah and her mother, Mary. Sarah got great joy reliving those memories by telling stories about the ornery Newman kids.

The past 20 years Sarah was an integral part of Cody, Melissa, Gabby, and Cade Newman’s lives. The Newman family ‘down the hill’ as she referred to them. She helped care for Gabby and Cade. She attended many activities and ballgames. And gave them hours of joy every summer with new litters of kittens. Sometimes the kittens went to the Newmans’ house and never returned. Melissa and Cody depended as much on Sarah as she did them. It was a wonderful ‘framily’. Sarah also kept up with the other Newman children and their new and extended families. Many newspaper clippings and pictures can be found stashed around the house. She loved all of them, and they loved her in return.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Ted, a sister, Teddy Sharon, and her mother Mary whom she cared for until her death. She is survived by Cody, Melissa, Gabby, and Cade Newman, and her beloved dog, Dixie May, Heather NewmanElder (Lester), Levi and Tanner. Hayley Newman-Fox (Scott), Cale and Kinley. Jacob Newman (Rachel), Elly, Payton, and Ava. Jim Newman (Tilly Lotspeich), and Debby Ware-Jackson. She is also survived by her Uncle Bud Osborne of Bethany, and her Aunt Suzanne Young of Fulton.

Sarah is no doubt enjoying some rest from all the gardening, baking, and caregiving. But, her sweets, her smile, her kindness, and her generosity will be missed by all.

Graveside service and burial were on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the Sarah Malson Memorial Fund in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
