(1 Cor 5:10, I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.) As a resident of the group considered to be the faithful of God there is to be a distinction between those who have been set apart to the things of God and those people who are living a lifestyle morally opposed to His righteousness and holiness. Here in the letter to the Church in Corinth the Apostle Paul is giving council concerning an issue of morality within the fellowship. Paul tells us not to keep company with those who display the liberal morality of society, but how many of us associate with the immoral of mind and spirit at work, school or in areas of commerce? There have been religious groups who have sought to separate from the evils of liberal morality yet still conduct business on a regular basis. I’ve heard it said that we, that is how we live our lives, our manner of speech and ethical mannerism in business could be the only Bible those without Jesus will ever see. Ask yourselves, “Am I an adequate example of Biblical Christianity in my daily life”? I’m an associate member of the group of Christianity, the bible believing faithful who are included in the group referred to as being ‘Evangelical’. Yes, if you were to see me on the street, in the post office or in the local hardware store and ask a question about faith; for example, “How do you know you are saved”? I would be willing and able to give you an answer based on the description of assurance contained within God’s Holy Bible. From the words of Jesus: (Acts 26:17-18, I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’) Now back to Corinth: (1 Cor 5:12), Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”)
