Gentry County Road Brush Removal Notice
This is an informational notice to all people who own land along township roads in Gentry County.
It has come to a point that the brush that exists along the roadways of our county has become an extremely concerning and expensive problem!
Here are a few of the reasons why:
• The township road graders are not able to properly maintain and ditch the roads. It is very easy for damage to occur in the process. Repairs on equipment are very expensive!
• If it is a gravel road, the gravel trucks are unable to spread gravel where needed, with some of our trucks incurring damage.
• Farm equipment is unable to travel the roads and it essentially shuts down necessary passage.
• Due to the shading because of the brush, these roads are extremely slow to dry out.
• It makes it impassable for those that use the road and it is unfair to all taxpayers as well as landowners who do keep their brush under control.
The responsibility of keeping this brush removed falls on the landowner based on Missouri State Statute Section 263.245 RSMO.
• The rules require the brush to be trimmed back or removed back to the fence. If there is not a fence, limbs, brush, or trees should be removed 30 ft from the center of the road.
• Spraying a brush control herbicide after cutting is highly recommended or the removal action will have to be repeated soon!
If the brush removal is not completed soon, the legal process will be started for each brush instance. This process will start with a certified letter sent to the landowner that gives them 30 days to get the process done. A 30-day extension can be granted based on hardship by contacting the Gentry County Clerk’s office.
• After an appropriate amount of time the county is allowed to hire the brush removed and bill the landowner. If not paid it will be added to the landowner’s property taxes.
The County will very soon be starting the process of sending brush removal notices to landowners that are not removing their brush.

(Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.) Quite often I’ve heard the phrase, “All we can do is pray.” I realize that in some situations after human effort has been exhausted this phrase comes to mind, but if we are truly walking with Jesus in every way we are already there. There are many verses of scripture that encourage us to maintain constant communication with God. (1 Thes 5:17, pray without ceasing,) Jesus would tell us that when we remain in communication with Him by faith the uncertainties of life diminish as we rely on the truth within the word of God. (Matt 6:34, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.) These are just a few of the words from God that will bring us the spirit of comfort as we rely on Him in all things. (Matt 6:31, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’) Haven’t we all the essentials of life? There are times when we fall into the temptation of what could be instead of what we have. (Pr 30:8-9, Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches— Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, and say, “Who is the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.) Think about this for a moment. Do not

Try to use these words as a model for prayer when you go to God with the spirit of thanksgiving by praising Him for all you have; then and only then go with our concerns and cares. I’m certain that if we do this the list of requests will be greatly diminished. In Jesus name, Pastor Bill Bracken For All Your PROPANE Needs Schoonover Oil Co., Inc.
