(Gal 1:6-9, I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.) Christianity, as taught by the Apostle Paul; a Jew sent to preach to the Gentiles yet at one time was more zealous for the traditions within Judaism than anyone. He was present when Stephen was stoned for the testimony of Jesus Christ. There we go, a person possessing a zeal for tradition up to and including the death of those who failed to go along with the tradition of the day. Tradition has a lot to do with our daily lives in how we act, think and relate to others. We observe days as holidays because of tradition, we accept ideas and behaviors because of tradition and when a ‘New Way’ comes along many become upset and even angry that someone would even dare to change what folks had become comfortable with. The tradition of men has from the beginning and is still a point of contention especially when it comes to matters of faith. Paul proclaims that there has been something perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul tells us that He had in the past served the desires of men and not God but now sees the desires of men creeping into the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus. Hmm, even if an Angel would happen to bring a word differing from faith in Jesus Christ alone let them be accursed. Wow, severe condemnation for drifting away from the gospel of Jesus Christ and Him alone. Notice how he said, ‘A different gospel but not another’. Many today poses a form of godliness but deny its power due to tradition. (Gal 1:10, For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.)
