It’s a sign of the wise to take in nutrition for the spirit and soul, not just for the body. In doing so a good measure of Godly wisdom comes from the book of proverbs. I read a Proverb a day corresponding with the day of the month. With 31 Proverbs each day brings about a fresh perspective as to the desires of God. Although I’ve been doing this for many years it seems that every month God reveals a little more, or maybe it’s that I’m able to appreciate the wisdom of God more as the Word becomes a greater part of who I am, in Word, thought and deed. (Pr. 4:7, Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.)” Starting with the verse about preparing our heart. This we should do every day with prayer followed by the inner most desire to hear God’s voice by reading His Word. When we do this the words from our mouth will begin to formulate from the very essence of God as our understanding grows to the ways of the world. As we grow in faith and understanding life becomes more obvious. (Romans 1:17, For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”) As we begin to understand this mysterious thing called faith it will grow stronger, especially in times of uncertainty. (2 Peter 3:17, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.) Just as the promise of spring brings warm sunshine and rain so does our heart fill with praise to God for this wonderful experience we call life. We begin to appreciate all the more the so-called simple things that may have gone unnoticed before. Just in case you are wondering how, I leave you with this: (Pr. 16:3, Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.)
