Welcome Dear Friends of Nevada Humane Society, Presented by Dick Campagni’s Carson City Toyota, the Walk for Animals is back! Normally, our annual Duck Race & Festival is held during this time, but due to challenges out of our control (a raging truckee River) we are postponing this event and bringing back our Walk! We’ve coined it #SavetheDucks and #Walk2017 instead!

At Nevada Humane Society, saving lives is priority one, each and every day. We are nationally recognized as one of the top ten lifesaving shelters in the United States, and Washoe County and Carson City are two of the safest places to be a homeless pet—all thanks to you! Your presence here today is helping to save thousands of homeless pets who come through Nevada Humane Society. Last year, over 11,300 lives were saved while nearly 18,000 animals received care at our facility. We increased lifesaving efforts by reaching out across the state to help other, smaller shelters, taking in 519 animals outside of our community. We saw adoptions increase for small animals, senior pets and animals with special conditions, such as those with treatable medical needs or diet limitations. our brand new shelter in Carson City opened, allowing for an increased number of animals to be cared for and find homes. We are paving the road for even more positive change across Nevada… all thanks to your support. By attending the Walk for Animals you are speaking up for the lost, forgotten and abandoned animals. thank you so much for helping homeless pets at Nevada Humane Society! It means so much to our community, as well as those four-legged lives we serve every day.
