New Energy Works is made up of over 70 designers, timberwrights, engineers, craftspeople, and community members. Together, we design and build some of the most lyrical and efficient custom wood structures in the industry using reclaimed & sustainably harvested timbers, environmentally responsible practices, and state-of-the-art technology. Our clientele of architects, builders, and homeowners hail from all over North America. We build relationships from our shops in New York and Oregon, along with a handful of trusted partners. For over 30 years our sister company Pioneer Millworks has crafted reclaimed & sustainable wood flooring, paneling, siding, and decking from thier employee owned-mills in New York & Oregon. We utilize Pioneer Millworks in many of our barns because of thier high quality, but also our shared committment to sustainable and responsible material sourcing. The Pioneer Millworks team rigorously vets thier source materials and finishes, like thier FSC-certified White Oak, Cradle-to-Cradle Accoya siding, and PEFC sourced Larch which are all naturally finished with no-VOC stains & finishes. Our efforts at reclaiming wood have processed over 1 million board feet a year for the past 28 years, saving this wood from landfills, incineration, and rot.
