The New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the 65th Annual Market on the Square will be held on Saturday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Previously known as the Antique Market & Craft Show, the chamber is excited to share the event’s official new name: Market on the Square. This beloved local event has gone through multiple name changes over its 65 years of existence, and the chamber is excited to continue this annual tradition by preserving the core focus of the event while introducing some new features. While antique dealers, artisans, crafters and food vendors will continue to be the focal point of Market on the Square, organizers are excited to expand the event’s offerings in 2021. Additions include a mini farmers market, entertainment and vendors specializing in vintage items, collectibles, repurposed furniture and more. Market on the Square will return to its traditional date of the third Saturday in June in 2022. This year’s date change is due to a number of factors, including planning, feasibility and safety. Vendor applications are currently available for the following categories: antiques, vintage, collectibles, repurposed furniture, handmade crafts, artisan products, farmers market goods and food. Market on the Square is one of the longest running street shows in the country drawing a large crowd annually.

The New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to share our new branding, including our new logo, with our members and the community. During our rebranding process, our goal was to modernize our logo without losing sight of what makes our town unique. The New Oxford circle is the heart of our town and remains an integral part of our logo. In our new logo, there is also a nod to New Oxford’s beloved fountain. The logo features colors similar to the logos of our local school district, Conewago Valley, and our local municipalities, including the New Oxford Borough and Oxford Township. We hope that you love this logo refresh as much as we do! Our new logo was created by local graphic design freelancer Lauren Gorbey. To contact Lauren, please email laurenlgorbey@gmail.com. As you can see from the newsletter, we are in the process of transitioning to our new logo and color theme. This transition will continue over the coming months until all of our promotional materials are updated. If you have our logo included on your website, we ask that you please update to our new logo. In addition to our updated branding, our office also has extended hours: Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that we will be closed on all major holidays. Chamber Launches Community E-Newsletter As part of an effort to increase communication and connection between our organization and the New Oxford community, the New Oxford Chamber launched a bi-monthly community e-newsletter in June. The community e-newsletter is geared toward community interests and features sections such as upcoming local events, business news and spotlights, community news and resources, local history fun facts, featured photos and a job board. Chamber members are welcome to submit news for any of the aforementioned categories by emailing information to Michaela at info@newoxford.org. All news is subject to approval by the chamber and will be included as space allows. Chamber members will receive priority placement for events and news as part of their membership benefits package. The e-newsletter currently goes out on the 15th and the 30th of the month. To be considered for inclusion, please submit your information via email no later than two days prior to publication. Additionally, members are encouraged to sign up for the community e-newsletter at www.newoxford.org/community-e-newsletter. Please invite your customers, family and friends to sign-up too. Once the e-newsletter is established, we anticipate adding advertising opportunities for members.

Member News Children’s Aid Society Promotes Gina Nobile Eric M. Chase, M.S., M.Div., Executive Director/CEO and the Board of Directors of the Children’s Aid Society, Southern PA District Church of the Brethren (CAS) recently announced that Gina Nobile has been promoted to the full-time position of Director of Human Resources. Nobile has served as the part-time Human Resources Coordinator since early 2018. Nobile has been an active leader within the organization. Her past projects include rewriting the CAS employee handbook, migrating CAS to online HR and payroll programs and serving as the organization’s COVID-19 coordinator. Nobile holds an associate degree in medical laboratory science from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in human resource management with a specialization in organizational leadership from Colorado State University. She serves as the vice president of the Hanover Area Young Professionals and acting chair of the Community Engagement (CE) Committee. The CE committee connects young professionals and community partners with volunteer opportunities that assist the Hanover community. Nobile has been a Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) professional member since 2016 and studying to become SHRM Certified.
◆◆◆ Doceo Opens New Office Locations and Announces Employee Promotion Doceo, a family and employee-owned technology company headquartered in York, has expanded into a new and larger service center in Lancaster County and added a new office location in Lebanon. The Lancaster center is located at 1697 Oregon Pike, and the Lebanon office is located at 604 Cumberland St. in downtown Lebanon. The new offices are two of eleven Doceo branch locations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. Doceo also announced the promotion of David B. Cook to Vice President of Sales for Lancaster and Dauphin counties. Cook will manage all technology advisors in the Lancaster, Lebanon and Harrisburg markets. Cook, who joined Doceo in November 2019, brings over 28 years of sales and sales management experience to the company. He previously held managerial positions at Block Business Systems (now Stratix) and Phillips Office Solutions (now Marco). He attended Lancaster Bible College and the Community College of Baltimore County and holds a Bachelor of Science.

Thirty-four Women of Influence were selected by CPBJ for their significant contributions to their respective fields and for their leadership in central Pennsylvania in the following areas: civic leadership, communications, education, finance, general business, health care, law, philanthropy, real estate and technology. ◆◆◆ Yazoo Mills Adds to Maintenance Department Yazoo Mills continues to see growth and is expanding its maintenance department with the hiring of Don Parks as Maintenance Supervisor. Parks joins Yazoo Mills following a maintenance planner/lead role at a local agribusiness. His background in hydraulics, robotics, programming, planning and electrical troubleshooting provides him the skillsets needed to further expand the servicing of production machines to minimize down-time. Parks will collaborate with his team and other departments related to equipment/facility maintenance and focus on implementing improvements.

Adams County Arts Council Welcomes New Board Members The board of directors of the Adams County Arts Council recently welcomed Montserrat Fonesca-Estrada and Kimberly Bond as new 2021 directors serving a three-year term. Fonesca-Estrada was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She has a degree in arts of communication and is currently earning her master’s in education at Wilson College. Fonesca-Estrada is bilingual and holds a certificate as a Spanish teacher for K-12 while she works on her pre-K-4 certification. She was a college professor and an ESL teacher for over 12 years in Guadalajara. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2013 and works for the LIU 12 Migrant Program as a part-time English instructor. Fonesca-Estrada also works part-time as a program assistant for Next Generation Farming/ Specialty Crop Innovations Penn State Extension office in Adams County. She has worked at VIDA Charter School for six years and works on teaching biliteracy. Fonesca-Estrada is part of the family and community support committee helping families to cover their basic needs. She has provided support in immigration sessions and events for Casa de la Cultura and attended meetings for the Adams County Food Policy Council assisting the Latino community. Bond is new to the Gettysburg area and is the executive vice president of Open Minds. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors and a master’s in counseling education from San Diego State University. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist in both California and Arkansas. Bond brings over 30 years of experience providing behavioral health treatment to the public in community settings. She has previously served as a program coordinator and clinical manager of recovery services for the Ozark Guidance Center. Other past roles include executive vice president of Center Point, Inc., a substance abuse provider in California, and president and CEO of Mental Health Systems, Inc. Her experience with women and children’s residential programs, adult recovery services, domestic violence, anger management and clinical administration will be an asset to the Healing Arts programs of the Arts Council.
