FEATURE SANDING TYPES OF ABRASIVES • Abrasives come in all shapes and sizes, including sheets, belts, rolls and discs • Sheets are sold individually or as part of a pack. They resemble A4 printer paper and can be used to sand by hand or can be cut to size to fit onto sanders or sanding blocks • Belts go with belt sanders and, depending on its size, there will be an abrasive belt which will fit perfectly onto your power tool • Rolls of sandpaper are used with handheld tools, such as sanders or sanding blocks, mainly because they are already the correct size. All you need to do is cut the right length and place it in the sander or sanding block • There are a variety of discs available for sanding. Mop sanding discs are fitted to angle grinders and have a fan-shaped radial arrangement of grinding flaps, while

self-fastening discs stick onto orbital sanders. Both are good for heavy stock removal and will last very long.

Another way to increase a consumer’s basket size is to suggest cleaning, applicators and finishing products. In most instances a project will need a protective coating after it has been sanded to the desired level. Protective coatings all needs to be applied by brush, cloth or spray gun. Stock these products close to the abrasive products and make sure floor sales people are aware of the cross selling opportunities in this category.

Master Lock is recognized around the world as the authentic, enduring name in padlocks and security products. Since our founding in 1921, we have worked hard to earn and maintain the trust of our customers by delivering on our promise of strength and quality and by continually setting new standards for lock design, application and performance. As the largest global manufacturer and marketer of padlocks, we continue to build our founder’s passion for innovation, quality and compelling value into our expanding lines of security solutions.

Master Lock Chain Gang There is a saying that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. When it comes to security, there is no better explanation of why it is so important to look at a security solution in its entirety. There is no point in having the toughest padlocks, but then using them with a sub-standard chain or cable. The thieves will just leave the padlocks and attack the weak chain or cable in order to gain access.

different lengths and diameters, they are also coated in plastic to prevent scratching. Each end has a ready-made loop to facilitate a padlock. Braided cable is more resistant to cutting then normal wound cable so offers increased security. The Python infinitely adjustable cable adds to this category and is ideal for securing equipment and moveable items. Also available is a vast range of combination and keyed cables.

Master Lock has a range of chains and cables to suit every requirement.

For convenience, a range of galvanised chain and padlock sets are available. The round link chain is housed in a nylon sheath and the padlock rubber coated for protection. Various colour options available. These sets are ideal for bicycles and motorcycles and situations where less security is required.

Top of the range is the Master Lock hardened square link chain, available in pre-manufactured lengths and shackle diameters. These chains are twice as tough and resistant to bolt cutters and angle grinders than standard hardened chains. They are also housed in a plastic sheath for protection against scratching.

FTS is well known in the industry, especially for its quality rivets. Its years of expertise will now just be used to make sure the entire FTS Boltworld operation deliver quick, quality and reliable service. In-store stands are well branded and neat. Two options are available to retailers, the first being a stand with hooks on which to hang smaller packs. The larger option is a stand with baskets and dividers for larger packs to be neatly placed inside. This can also be adapted according to the store needs, stacking anything up to four baskets on top of each other. The idea is also to situate the stands as close as possible to where contractors will shop, for example close to the roof sheeting department.
