From rugged mountains and serene lochs to historic castles and picturesque towns, this is Scotland at its most spellbinding with an itinerary designed exclusively for solo travellers.

Day One Travel to the Coylumbridge Hotel, with welcome drinks upon arrival and dinner

Your first day will be dedicated to travel, relaxation and a little bit of settling in. After arriving in Inverness, you’ll be transferred to the Coylumbridge Hotel, nestled on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Set against a backdrop of ancient Caledonian pinewoods and open moorland, the hotel makes an ideal base for the days of exploration ahead.

Welcome drinks and dinner will be served this evening, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow solo travellers and get a feel for what’s to come.

Day Two Included excursion to Balmoral Castle, Crathie Kirk and Ballater

Enjoy breakfast this morning before venturing on a morning drive to the

famous Balmoral Castle, the Scottish holiday home of the Royal Family since 1852. You’ll get to enter the castle to see the ballroom (the largest room in the castle), view the exhibitions and wander the gardens.

The castle’s ballroom is the only area open to the public and where many members of the Royal Family have been pictured hosting events. Near the castle is Crathie Kirk, a small parish church in the village of Crathie. Best known for being the regular place of worship of the Royal Family, this church was built in 1895 and looks over the Dee River. The tour will then continue to the beautiful Victorian village of Ballater, located near Cairngorms National Park. You can stroll around the speciality shops and seek out one of the delightful cafés for lunch (on your own account). The village sits

in the heart of Royal Deeside and has longstanding connections to the Royal Family, with several local shops holding Royal Warrants as suppliers to the Balmoral Estate nearby.

Return later this evening for dinner and to relax.

Day Three Included boat tour of Loch Ness, with a visit to the town of Fort Augustus

Following breakfast this morning, you’ll board a two-hour Loch Ness cruise, narrated by your tour manager as you take in the sweeping views of the banks.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of Nessie, the legendary creature said to inhabit the loch. Back on land, the tour will call at the town of Fort Augustus, known for the impressive Fort Augustus Abbey, founded in the 18th century. Now home to a museum, the abbey will be explored on a guided tour, where you’ll learn about its role in the local community and take a closer look at the architecture and stained-glass windows.

Those eager to stretch their legs can join an optional walk along the towpath of the Caledonian Canal, one of Scotland’s great engineering achievements, completed in 1822 to connect the east and west coasts.

The canal path offers peaceful views across the water and into the surrounding hills, making it a pleasant way to spend the afternoon at your own pace. If you’d prefer to take things easy, there’s plenty of time to explore Fort Augustus independently, perhaps stopping for a coffee and watching the boats pass through the locks.

In the evening, unwind at your leisure or join your fellow travellers for a drink and a chance to swap stories from the day.

Day Four Included visit to Nairn, Culloden Battlefield and Brodie Castle

Once the group have had breakfast, it’s time to make the most of your penultimate day. The

This morning, you’ll have some free time to cover some of Calgary’s highlights. Nicknamed ‘Cowtown’, this city’s Western culture is evident, and it’s known for hosting the world-famous Calgary Stampede every July. Taking to the pedestrian-friendly street, Stephen Avenue Walk is worthwhile, or the Calgary Tower for a panoramic view of the city and the nearby mountains. In the afternoon, you’ll leave the bustle behind and travel into the heart of the Rockies to Banff. Set in Banff National Park and enclosed by beautiful wilderness, this charming resort town will be your base for the next five nights.

As you travel at your preferred, comfortable pace, you’ll observe the nearby valleys, mountains and lakes before concluding with a snack and a hot refreshment by a camp fire. Alternatively, see the majestic Rockies from a different angle and venture on a 25-minute helicopter ride, which flies high above the mountains.

Your holiday essentials

Whether you’ve booked a holiday with us or you’re trying to decide where in the world to visit next, we’ve put together some essential information to help you before you travel. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and we’ll be happy to assist.

Before you go

Passports & visas

The information provided below is a guide only. Newmarket Holidays cannot accept responsibility for entry or travel being refused due to the failure on the part of any customer to produce correct documentation. We recommend you check the UK Foreign Office website for the latest travel information and entry requirements for the destinations on your itinerary before you travel by visiting: www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

Further information can be found at www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/about-us/faqs/ passport-and-visa-information and the Passport Office can be contacted on 0300 222 0000

Should you require assistance with a visa application for your tour, we have partnered with the Travel Visa Company who can help complete forms and deal directly with the embassies on your behalf. Note that they’ll make additional charges for their services dependent on the country and type of visa required. Simply visit www.thetravelvisacompany.co.uk/ newmarket-holidays/?sup=NMH

For travel to Europe:

Since Brexit, British passport holders travelling to countries in the EU (except Ireland), as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Monaco, or Vatican City, are subject to two main passport validity requirements, which are independent of each other. Customers must have a passport that:

• 1. Was issued less than 10 years before the date they enter the country.

• 2. Is valid for at least three months after the day they plan to leave (but still within the 10-year range). Find out more information on ABTA’s advice page www.abta.com/passports

Following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, changes have been planned which affect the eligibility of citizens of the United Kingdom to have visa free travel to the EU:

Entry/Exit System (EES) – this is a new digital border management system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of most European countries. On your first entry to the EU, the new system will automatically collect travellers’ passport details, as well as biometric information (i.e. fingerprints and facial image). It also replaces the stamping of passports at the border with electronic recordings of entries, exits and refusals of entry. The EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026. The latest information can be found at https://travel-europe.europa.eu/ees

European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS) – this is a new entry requirement for visaexempt nationals travelling to any of the European Union and Schengen counties. The ETIAS system is not live yet (although is expected to start towards the end of 2026)the latest information can be found at www.etias.com We recommend keeping yourself updated on the planned commencement date for both EES and ETIAS and, once live (and if applicable to you), ensure you are familiar with the process and apply for your ETIAS in good time prior to travel.

Please note: Citizens of other countries (including Irish passport holders) should check entry visa requirements before making a booking. Children require their own passport.

For travel to USA & Canada:

An electronic passport with an embedded chip, valid until your return to the UK, is required by all British citizens. If you’re unsure, please check with the Passport Office on 0300 222 0000 When travelling to the USA and/or Canada, action is required prior to travel. You should check your eligibility before booking your holiday.

For travel to the USA, British citizens (and those from countries eligible to use the Visa Waiver Programme) MUST, as soon as you can, go to the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) website at https://esta. cbp.dhs.gov/ This service currently costs $40 per person (but is subject to change without notice), payable online, and is valid for any number of visits to the USA within two years of its issue, as long as the passport remains valid. You’ll need to enter some basic information about your visit. This electronic information is then transmitted automatically to the authorities and is used as part of the entry procedure once you arrive in the USA.

Canada follows a similar process, the eTA (Electronic Travel Authority), and you should apply at www.canada.ca/eta This service costs currently costs $7 per person and is valid for any number of visits to Canada within five years of issue as long as the passport remains valid. On arrival, your photograph will be taken and your fingerprints scanned.

Please note: If you’re travelling on a tour which includes both Canada and the USA, different rules apply.

If your tour flies first to the USA, you should apply for the US ESTA only – and NOT the Canadian eTA.

• If your tour flies into Canada, you should apply for both the Canadian eTA and US ESTA.

• Passengers travelling on cruises, which involve a combination of USA and Canadian ports may be required to apply for both the US ESTA and Canadian eTA. This will be advised prior to travel.

For travel to the rest of the world:

Visas are required by British citizens travelling to many of the countries included on our tour itineraries and must be applied for, prior to departure. We’ll send you details of how to apply for your visa about eight weeks prior to travel. But we also recommend you check the UK Foreign Office website for the latest travel information and entry requirements for the destinations on your itinerary by visiting: www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

Further information can be found at www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/about-us/faqs/ passport-and-visa-information and the Passport Office can be contacted on 0300 222 0000

Holiday insurance

It’s a condition of booking that you have adequate travel insurance for the destinations and activities involved. We strongly advise that you take out adequate cover from the point at which you make your booking and pay your deposit to cover you in case you need to cancel for medical reasons. You are free to choose your own travel insurance provider, but we recommend Holiday Extras who provide a wide range of products, competitive prices and great service. You can view their rates and book your insurance online by visiting www.holidayextras.com/newmarketholidays/ insurance or they can be contacted on 0800 458 9216 quoting reference V7812

If you have any concerns or if you have suffered from a serious medical condition recently, it’s suggested that you consult your GP about your fitness to travel about 12 weeks prior to your holiday departure date.

Health matters

We recommend you consult your GP for any suggested vaccinations for your destination, based on your own medical needs. Sensible prevention measures, such as high-factor sun protection, insectrepellent sprays and drinking bottled mineral water are also advised. We recommend leaving contact lenses at home and using glasses due to increased dust in the air in some areas, and on flights. Find travel health advice for destinations worldwide by visiting www.travelhealthpro.org.uk/index.php

Assisted Travel

We strive to give all customers our full care and attention, but we do need to know at the time of booking if there

are any special needs or requirements. It’s particularly important that we’re advised of any disabilities and if you intend to bring any specialist equipment, such as a wheelchair, with you. Most of our tours involve some walking, including from the coach parking area to the local town or attraction being visited. In some destinations, there are cobbled streets and steep hills. If you have any accessibility needs, we’d recommend you speak to our Assisted Travel Team on 0303 330 0896 who can ensure that the tour you’ve chosen is right for you, and we can discuss the itinerary with you in detail.

Money matters

Credit cards and debit cards are accepted virtually everywhere, but don’t forget to inform your bank if you intend to use cash machines while away. Take some cash for use on arrival – we normally find the best rates are available at the post office, supermarkets and online. Some people ask how much currency they’ll need, but that depends on you! How much do you eat and where do you want to eat; how many souvenirs or presents do you wish to bring back? Our suggestion is to change a little at a time. We also recommend a pre-paid Money Travel Card - a cheap and safe way to spend money abroad.

Beyond Euros and Dollars, all required currency for our Worldwide holidays can be readily purchased at UK banks and airports, except for Chinese Yuan, Indian Rupee and Cambodian Riel, which should be purchased upon arrival at your destination. Hotels and airports all generally have exchange facilities. You can use cash machines to withdraw cash now generally anywhere in the world, although our experience says this is more likely to work in larger cities.

Flexible arrangements

On some tours, we’re able to offer upgrades and flexible flight arrangements should you wish to stay on for a few days’ relaxation after your tour or maybe visit friends and family. Let us know what your plans are, and we’d be happy to quote.

Alternatively, some holidays can be arranged without flights provided you join and leave the tour at a preagreed point, usually the first and last hotels, and within the time restraints of the main group.

We’re unable to tailor-make other land arrangements before and after the tour for you. Our tour arrangements are made well in advance and in rare circumstances, contractual reasons or simple demand means we may have to make changes or even cancel specific departure dates. We cannot be responsible for costs for any additional items like flights or hotels you may have booked yourself in conjunction with the tour.

Your journey

Your flights

Domestic flights in the UK & Ireland

When flying domestically within the United Kingdom, your airline requires valid photo identification to travel. The form of ID changes between airlines and therefore you should check before travel. We recommend a valid UK passport. When flying to the Republic of Ireland, a valid full UK passport is required for entry.

Flights with Ryanair

Some of our holidays use flights with Ryanair, which require check-in online before you travel. Failure to do so will result in you being charged at your departure airport for check-in services. More information can be found at www.ryanair.com

European flight & rail seats

Our European-flight inclusive tours may operate on airlines that charge for seating. Details explaining how to book seats directly with the airline can be found here www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/aboutus/faqs/flight-information

On rail-inclusive journeys, we always endeavour to book seats located together, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Flights to the USA & Canada

Your holiday includes flights as detailed in Economy Class. As a very general guide, flights to the East Coast take around eight hours and to the West between nine and 11 hours. Meals will be servedusually lunch and a snack on outbound flights and dinner and breakfast on your return flight. Some airlines will charge for alcoholic drinks.

Your seats on the flight will usually be allocated by the airline who’ll make every effort to ensure you’re seated with your travelling companions. Some airlines now

charge for allocated seating in Economy Class and, as you’re travelling on a group booking, this cannot be actioned very close to travel. Where available, details explaining how to book your seating directly with the airline will be sent with your final paperwork, and unfortunately, we’re unable to assist any sooner than this. All airlines are now required by laws introduced in the USA and other countries to give border-control agencies access to passenger data. Accordingly, any information we hold about you and your travel arrangements may be disclosed to the customs and immigration authorities of any country in your itinerary. From time to time, an advertised airline may be changed due to reasons beyond our control.

Flights to other worldwide destinations

We work with some of the world’s most reputable airlines and all flights include spacious, ergonomic seating in the Economy cabin, usually two complimentary meals enroute (appropriate to the time of day), as well as drinks throughout the flight. You’ll find seat-back video with a choice of films, TV and music channels to help keep you entertained throughout the flight.

Your seats on the flight will usually be allocated by the airline who’ll make every effort to ensure you’re seated with your travelling companions. Some airlines now charge for allocated seating in Economy Class and, as you’re travelling on a group booking, this cannot be actioned until very close to travel. Where available, details explaining how to book your seating directly with the airline will be sent with your final paperwork. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide help with flight seating before your final travel documents are produced.

Internal and regional flights in India, Africa, China and Latin America, on the tours shown in this brochure, are operated by state-regulated private airlines. The on-board service is limited, and all airlines operate modern, western type aircrafts usually built by Airbus, Embraer or Boeing. Airports throughout India are usually modern with all the usual facilities.

Luggage

You’re permitted to check-in* one suitcase per person, but weight and dimension limits will apply as luggage allowance varies by airline. We ask that you don’t exceed one suitcase per person (with a maximum weight of 20kgs) as space on the coach when you arrive at your destination may be limited. Keep your passport, important documents, and any important medication in your hand luggage and, for your own comfort, do try to minimise the amount you take into the aircraft cabin. We’ll send you up-to-date information about your hold and hand baggage allowance, and what you can and can’t carry in it, just prior to your departure.

*Checked-in luggage allowance does not apply to our Christmas market breaks, which instead include the airline’s base level hand luggage allowance.

Avoiding jet lag

When visiting a destination located in a different time zone, jet lag can be experienced. To minimise the effects, drink plenty of water prior to and during your flight. Most UK airports now have water re-filling stations, so we recommend you take your reusable bottle with you. We’d also recommend a good night’s sleep prior to your flight. Avoid too much alcohol and caffeine during your flight and do try to rest.

On arrival, take an easy walk or a swim on arrival and avoiding sleep prior to nighttime in the country you’ve arrived in. The next morning, do your best to rise at a time appropriate to the locality. Avoid sleeping in as it will take your body longer to adjust to the difference in time.

On a return flight from the USA or Canada, with a morning UK arrival, we recommend a short sleep but do then get up and try to remain awake until your normal bedtime. By the following morning, it’s likely you’ll be back in your own time zone.

On a return flight from the East, it’s generally easier to adjust as you’ll be naturally tired by the reverse time difference. Try to sleep at normal UK bedtime and by the following morning, it’s likely you will be back in your own time zone.

Your holiday

Service with a smile

Our friendly, experienced tour managers are on hand to ensure you make the very most of your time away. The majority are local to your destination, and all our

tour managers have a passion for the country you’re visiting and will be able to assist with any questions you may have.

Upon arrival at your destination arrival point, you’ll be welcomed by a Newmarket Holidays representative and shown to your onward transport. Usually this will be your dedicated tour manager, but on some occasions, this may not always be possible, and instead, a driver will meet you.

Hotels & meals

There’s no doubt, especially on a holiday that involves travelling and sightseeing, that a good quality hotel is important, which is why we spend so much time carefully selecting the places you’ll stay – even if it’s only for one night. We’re proud of the hotels used throughout our tours, all of which are carefully selected. You can find further details about the hotels we use within the tour pages on our website. On occasions, for operational reasons, we may need to use alternative properties, which will always be of at least the same standard and in similar locations. It’s not usually standard for rooms to have tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms, so if your morning cuppa is important to you, we recommend you bring a small travel kettle.

Please let us know of any special requests at the time of booking, such as adjoining guestrooms, high or low floor. We’ll do our best to oblige but no guarantee can be made.

Some facilities advertised at the hotels may not be available at certain times. Outdoor swimming pools and air conditioning are subject to weather conditions, and it will be the decision of each individual hotelier as to when these facilities are available.

Hotels on UK, Ireland & European tours

Check-in time is normally no earlier than 3pm. Unless otherwise stated, the advertised price of the holiday applies to each of two people sharing a room. The majority of rooms are twin-bedded. Double beds can be requested but are not guaranteed. Most hotels have single rooms (although availability is limited) and a supplement is usually charged. The third and fourth bed in triple and four bedded rooms are usually only suitable for children. It is standard practice for rooms to be vacated by 12 noon and sometimes earlier. Where your departure is later, it may be possible to keep the room longer - your tour manager will give you assistance and advise of any extra charge that would be made.

All our UK, Ireland and European hotels will either have their own restaurant or be near to a choice of places to eat out. Unless otherwise stated, breakfast is provided on all our UK, Ireland and European escorted tours. Usually this is a continental buffetstyle breakfast to get you ready to start a busy day of touring and exploration. Continental style usually means rolls/croissants, jam, tea or coffee. On tours where other meals are not included, you can always rely on your tour manager to point you in the direction of a suitable restaurant. If you’re on an included or optional excursion over lunch time, we’ll always try to make an appropriate stop. If you have any special dietary needs, please send in full details, quoting your six-character booking reference, as soon as you receive your booking confirmation. We will pass your requests to the hotelier who will do their best to cater for you. Please be aware that vegetarianism and gluten free diets are not as commonplace in some parts of the world as they are here in the UK, so choices may be limited.

If you have a late arrival at your destination, the hotel kitchen may be closed. In these instances, we’ll do our best to arrange a cold plate for you, however service provisions do vary and therefore this cannot be guaranteed. If you have an early departure from your hotel on your final day, you may be provided with a boxed breakfast if the kitchen is not open. When staying in Italy, the authentic dining experience can often be a bit different to the Italian food that international tourists might be used to, but it’s one of the best ways to truly appreciate the finer cultural differences of this tourist hotspot. For example, a typical three-course dinner may consist of a traditional pasta or soup, a main meat or fish course accompanied by one or two types of vegetable and a simple dessert of fruit, cake or Italian ice cream. Our Historic Paradors of Hidden Spain and Pousadas of Portugal tours are offered on a mixed board basis for meals, giving you the chance to experience authentic local cuisine at both the accommodation (included) and local restaurants of your choice (not

included). Included dinners are served as a group, typically consisting of three courses in the traditional Spanish / Portuguese style, starting a little later in the evening. As each parador or pousada is unique and kitchen space can be limited, you may be asked for your meal choice up to two days in advance, and on occasion independently booked guests may be offered a different menu to those on our escorted tour.

Hotels on USA & Canada tours

The hotels used throughout our USA & Canada tours usually meet a standard typical of a good three-star level in Europe. Check-in time to hotels is usually not before 3pm. Guestrooms are generally larger than in Europe and each usually have, at least, a coffee maker, a telephone and a TV. There’ll usually be a bar or restaurant on site or nearby. Guestrooms have two double beds or one king-size bed and, should you wish for three or four people to occupy a room, this will usually be within the existing two beds. Guestrooms with three separate beds cannot be provided in North America. Single rooms will generally have one bed. It’s usual for guestrooms to be vacated by 12 noon. Where your departure is later, it may be possible to keep the room longer, but this will be at the hotel’s discretion. Your tour manager will give you assistance and advise of any extra charge that may be applicable.

Our North American tours don’t generally include meals, as is the standard practice for escorted tour to the USA & Canada. Many people use hotel restaurants for breakfast, while others may use nearby diners. The same goes for dinner, especially when in cities where the choices can be endless. In more rural areas, hotels usually have their own restaurant. At lunch time, we’ll always try to make an appropriate stop – and your Tour Manager will always help with choices for you.

Please note that hotels in Las Vegas do not usually have tea/coffee making facilities in guest rooms so a travel kettle would be handy; though you’ll always find plenty of nearby choices for your morning cuppa.

Hotels on worldwide tours

Chosen for a combination of location, welcome, comfort, and the opportunity to rest and relax, the hotels selected for our worldwide touring are of an excellent standard and offer a range of modern conveniences and usually a choice of regional and international cuisine.

In India and Sri Lanka our hotel partners are long-standing. All hotels have a swimming pool and there are usually generous gardens and lounge areas in which to relax. There will be a bar and restaurants where all meals are usually taken buffet style, ensuring plenty of choice for everyone from traditional Indian through to European offerings. Guest rooms will all have TV and coffee maker and are often individually styled and decorated. The maximum occupancy for rooms is usually two people.

In destinations such as Japan, travellers may find hotel rooms more compact than in many European cities – a reflection of the country’s high population density, thoughtful space-efficient design, and urban planning restrictions.

When travelling to remote and eco-conscious destinations, accommodations may be intentionally simple to blend harmoniously with the natural environment. While luxury here is measured in starlit skies and untouched landscapes, cleanliness and comfort are never compromised. Every guest is guaranteed a private en-suite bathroom and a clean, thoughtfully prepared space, ensuring your experience remains both authentic and refreshing.

Accommodation on our African safaris is always of the highest standard. When we offer tented campstyle stays, it is not a compromise – it’s an intentional, immersive way to connect more deeply with the African wilderness. These camps bring you closer to nature, while still delivering the comfort, elegance, and attention to detail you’d expect from a luxury safari experience. With beautifully appointed interiors, private en-suite bathrooms, and stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, our tented camps offer a different – and unforgettable – way to experience the magic of Africa.

Enjoying your stay

When travelling overseas, it’s always wise to take simple and sensible precautions. Never drink water that is not bottled. Even then, make sure the seal is intact. Try to always eat cooked food, served hot and avoid salad or cold food. Eat fruit which must be peeled first. Take a hand sanitiser to use frequently and before you eat. Take sun block if you’re travelling to a hot destination. Mosquito bites are common, especially after dark and can make a trip miserable.

Cover up and use a readily available repellent spray or cream. Also, we recommend you take your favourite brands of medication for general ailments such as a headache or stomach upset and some sticking plasters just in case - after all, holiday time is precious!

Tipping

A gratuity is an accepted form of appreciation and works differently from country to country. Do use your own discretion to tip for good service and do rely on the tour manager for advice. It’s also customary to tip your tour manager if you’re happy with their service!

Please note: tipping is optional and as such, is typically not included in the price of your holiday (unless otherwise stated).

Gratuities are a way of life in North America, and it’s generally accepted that they form part of a person’s earnings – to the extent that an assumed amount of income tax is paid. That aside, tips will also ensure excellent service. Customary gratuity to a coach driver or tour manager is about $5 per person per day. In a taxi or a restaurant, leave 12-15% of the bill and in the bar, a dollar or so per drink if a service charge has not already been added to the bill. In China and India, we now include some tips to cover the services of railway station, airport, restaurant and hotel bell staff. In South Africa and Costa Rica, it’s customary to tip around 10% when paying in

restaurants and do check as, in some cases, it may have been added to the bill already.

Helicopter flights

Sightseeing flights by helicopter are weight controlled and balanced. If your weight exceeds 300lbs, you must advise us. As a seat may have to be left empty, some companies may charge a premium.

Smoking

Please note that e-cigarettes cannot be purchased in or taken into many countries across Asia and the Indian Sub-Continent.

Your terms & conditions for touring holidays

Please

take a moment to read through carefully

To make sure everything is crystal clear, we’ve put together these simple Booking Conditions, which set out what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you, all in line with the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements 2018. If anything is unclear, please feel free to contact us. Our team are always willing to help.

A. Your contract with us

1. Your booking

How your booking becomes a contract

Once we’ve accepted your booking and sent a Confirmation Invoice to the lead customer (the “Lead Name”), a legally binding contract is formed between Newmarket Holidays Limited (“we/us/our”) and everyone named on the booking (“you/your”). Your invoice will be sent to the Lead Name or, if you booked through a travel agent, to your agent.

The lead name’s role

By making a booking, the lead name confirms they have the authority to agree to these conditions on behalf of all travelling party members included on the same reference number, and that everyone in the party is aware of and agrees to them. The lead name is also responsible for ensuring all personal details provided are accurate, and for making sure all party members meet any entry requirements, including visas, vaccinations, and valid passports.

Please note, we are unable to accept bookings from unaccompanied customers under the age of 18. For bookings of 10 or more customers travelling on a single booking reference, all correspondence, payments and instructions will be handled exclusively through the lead name. All payments - including deposit and final balance - must be made by bank transfer only. Individual passengers on a group booking may not make payments or amendments directly.

The law that applies

English law governs your contract and any disputes that arise. Legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may bring proceedings in your home country’s courts and may choose to have your contract governed by the law of Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Getting in touch

You’re welcome to contact us by email for any booking queries, including amendment requests: customerservices@newmarketholidays.co.uk

If you booked through a travel agent, please be aware that we’ll deal directly with your agent. Any messages, requests or complaints passed to your agent will be processed by us as soon as we receive them. Please note we’re not responsible for advice given by your travel agent that didn’t originate from us.

2. Your payment

How we protect your money

Your money is safe with us, and we want you to feel confident when you book:

• Non-flight bookings – Money paid to one of our authorised travel agents is held on your behalf until your booking is confirmed, then held on our behalf until passed to us.

• Flight-inclusive bookings – Your payments are protected under the Air Travel Trust. In the very unlikely event that we were unable to continue trading; your money would be safeguarded by the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust.

Making payments

Your Booking Confirmation will include an invoice showing deposit paid and final balance due (if not paid at the time of booking). Unless otherwise stated on your Confirmation Invoice, the balance of your holiday price is due not later than 12 weeks before the departure date. All payments (deposit and final balance) must be made by the Lead Name, or through your appointed travel agent. Please make sure your final payment reaches us by the date shown. We’ll send you a reminder, but if we don’t receive full payment by the due date, we may have to treat your booking as cancelled, and cancellation charges will apply (see Section A, Clause 4).

If you book within 90 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

If you later choose to upgrade your flights, we may ask for an additional deposit at that point.

3. Changes to your booking (by you)

If you’d like to make any changes to your confirmed booking, please let us know as soon as possible. All amendment requests must be submitted in writing by the lead name, by email or telephone (confirmed in writing), or through your travel agent. We will always do our best to help. Cancellation charges apply (see 4 below)

Transferring your place to someone else

You may transfer your booking to someone else (introduced by you) without paying cancellation charges, providing:

• The request is made in writing at least 7 days before departure

• The replacement person meets all booking conditions

• You pay an amendment fee of £50 per person (at the time of amendment) plus any supplier costs

For flight-inclusive bookings, additional airline charges are likely to apply for any amendments and will be passed on to you for payment before the change is made.

4. Cancellation by you

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by the lead name, by email (customerservices@ newmarketholidays.co.uk) or telephone (security questions will be asked and you will need to follow up by email), or through your travel agent.

Please note that if a cancellation results in one person travelling alone or no longer sharing a room, a single room supplement will be payable (this is separate from any cancellation charge).

The cancellation charge depends on how much notice you give:

On receipt of your cancellation, we will provide you with a Cancellation Invoice, showing the charge. If your reason for cancelling is covered by your travel insurance, you may be able to reclaim these charges (less any excess) from your insurer. You’ll need to pay the charges to us first and then claim them back.

5. Your travel conditions

Where your holiday includes travel by air, sea, rail or coach, the terms and conditions of the relevant carrier will apply. These typically limit the carrier’s liability in line with applicable international conventions and regulations. Any claim for compensation for flight disruption under the relevant air passengers’ rights regulations should be made directly to the airline. As your tour operator, we are happy to provide you with the information you need to make such a claim. If anyone in your party is refused boarding or entry to a destination by a transport operator or government authority, including where a medical condition or disability hasn’t been disclosed to us in time, we will always provide appropriate assistance with finding alternative arrangements and relevant contact information, but we may be limited in what we can do, and for the avoidance of doubt, cancellation penalties will apply.

Where transport operators, accommodation providers or other third-party suppliers impose additional charges, levies, or surcharges on us as a result of circumstances beyond our or their reasonable control - including but not limited to fuel cost increases, airspace restrictions, or geopolitical events - we reserve the right to pass through such additional costs in accordance with the price revision provisions set out in Section B, Clause 2.

B. Our contract with you

1. Our confirmation of your booking

We’ll send your Confirmation Invoice within 24 hours of receiving your booking and deposit. This is our contract with you. Please check it carefully straight away, if anything looks incorrect, including all customer names and spellings, please contact us immediately. It is essential that all names match passport details exactly. We regret we can’t accept liability for inaccuracies not reported to us within 10 days of issue (or 5 days for Departure Documents), and charges may apply to rectify.

2. The price of your holiday

Once the price of your holiday has been confirmed at the time of booking, we will only increase it in the limited circumstances described below.

(a) When we may change the price. After your booking is confirmed, we may increase or decrease the price of your holiday only to reflect changes in the following costs:

(i) the cost of transporting you, including the cost of fuel or other power sources;

(ii) taxes, fees or charges for services such as tourist taxes, landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports, imposed by a third party not directly involved in performing your holiday; or

(iii) the exchange rates relevant to your holiday.

(b) How we calculate the change. Any price increase or decrease will correspond exactly to the change in the relevant cost. For example, if an airline notifies us that the fuel surcharge on your flights has increased by £30 per person, we will pass on a surcharge of £30 per person (less any amount we absorb under paragraph (c) below). We will provide you with a clear explanation of the increase and a breakdown of how it has been calculated.

(c) What we absorb. We will absorb, and you will not be charged for, any increase in the costs referred to in paragraph (a) above that is equivalent to 2% of the total price of your holiday (excluding any amendment charges and insurance premiums). Only amounts above this 2% threshold will be surcharged to you.

(d) When we will tell you. We will notify you of any price increase clearly and in writing (by email or letter) no later than 20 days before the start of your holiday. We will not increase the price of your holiday within 20 days of departure.

(e) If the increase is more than 8% of the total holiday price. If the total price increase (after the 2% absorption in paragraph (c) above) amounts to more than 8% of the total price of your holiday, we will notify you and offer you the following options:

(i) accept the price increase and continue with your holiday as booked;

(ii) accept a substitute holiday of equivalent or higher quality, where we can offer one (if the substitute is of lower quality, you will receive an appropriate price reduction); or

(iii) cancel your holiday and receive a full refund of all payments you have made to us, which we will pay within 14 days of cancellation.

We will give you a reasonable period in which to make your choice. If you do not respond within the time we specify, we will contact you again. If we do not hear from you after our second notification, we may treat your booking as cancelled and refund you in full.

(f) Compensation. If you choose to cancel under paragraph (e)(iii) above, you may also be entitled to compensation, depending on the circumstances. Compensation is not payable where the price increase results from unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (see Section B, Clause 6).

3. Pricing errors

We take care to ensure that all advertised and quoted prices are accurate at the time of publication. However, prices can change and errors can occasionally occur. We reserve the right to correct any pricing error at any time before your booking is confirmed. Where a Confirmation Invoice has been issued showing an incorrect price due to a system or human error, the price that will apply is the price recorded in our reservation system at the time of booking. A contract entered into based on a pricing error will not be valid or binding. We will notify you of any such error as soon as we become aware of it, at which point you may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel with a full refund of all payments made.

4. Data

protection

To process your booking, we’ll collect personal data for everyone named on it. This data may be shared with suppliers and third parties as necessary to fulfil your holiday arrangements and comply with applicable law. For full details on how we use and protect your data, please visit: www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/privacy

5. Changes and cancellation by us

We plan our holidays many months in advance, so occasionally changes are unavoidable. We’ll always let you know as soon as we possibly can.

Most changes are minor and we must reserve the right to make these alterations due to many variable components of your package holiday which can be subject to changes beyond our control.

Minor changes include, but are not limited to:

• Flight time changes of less than 12 hours

Change of airline or aircraft type

Change from direct to indirect flight

• Change of carrier routing, including introduction of a transit stop, where total journey time increases by less than 12 hours

• Change of departure airport to an airport within 70 miles of the original departure airport

Change of accommodation to same or higher standard in the same area

• Substitution of individual accommodation, ground transport operators, or local suppliers with alternatives of equivalent or higher standard within the same destination area

Reordering of itinerary elements or substitution of individual excursions or activities where the overall tour content and duration are preserved

• Withdrawal of a hotel facility that is beyond our control

• Cancellation of an optional excursion

No compensation is payable in these circumstances. Significant changes (as defined by Schedule 1 of the Package Travel Regulations 2018) include, but are not limited to:

Flight changes of more than 12 hours

• Change of resort area

• Hotel downgrade

If we need to make a significant change, we’ll offer you the choice to:

• Accept the revised arrangements (with a refund if the price is lower)

• Transfer to another available holiday at the current price, without charges

• Cancel with a full refund, which we will process within 14 days

In cases of significant changes, we will do our best to minimise the impact to your tour.

Where a significant change is necessary and arises from circumstances within our direct control, you may be entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation, having regard to the nature and timing of the change and any inconvenience caused. Where a significant change arises from the actions of third-party suppliers, carriers or other service providers, or from circumstances constituting unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances as defined in these conditions, no compensation will be payable. (see Section B, Clause 6).

Minimum numbers

Some group holidays require a minimum number of bookings to operate. If this isn’t achieved, we reserve the right to cancel your booking but will notify you no later than the balance due date and we will always offer you an alternative.

6. Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances

These are situations beyond our control whose consequences could not have been avoided even with all reasonable measures in place. Examples include:

• War, civil unrest, terrorism or industrial action (actual or threatened)

• Natural disasters, severe weather, floods, volcanic activity

• Serious illness outbreaks at your destination

• Airport or airspace closures or flight restrictions

• Epidemics or pandemics

Geopolitical events, regime sanctions, restrictions imposed by governmental or regulatory authorities, or the actions of third-party governments affecting airspace, transit routes or the provision of services by carriers or suppliers, whether or not at or near your holiday destination

• Significant and unforeseeable increases in the cost of, or withdrawal of, services by transport operators, accommodation providers, or ground operators resulting from any of the above circumstances

If such circumstances significantly affect your holiday before departure, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a full refund. However, please note that UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advisories don’t automatically mean we’re unable to perform your holiday. They may affect your ability to travel rather than ours to deliver. We cannot pay compensation or meet costs arising from these circumstances. We will always do our best to ensure that your holiday

is minimally impacted by working around affected areas or carriers. A general FCDO advisory covering a broader region or country does not automatically entitle you to cancel without cancellation charges where your specific holiday destination, routing, and accommodation remain unaffected by the circumstances giving rise to that advisory. We will assess each situation individually and notify you promptly of our determination.

7. Our complaints procedure

We welcome feedback and take complaints very seriously. We really hope that you won’t need this section, but just in case you do, we are pleased to advise that Newmarket Holidays Ltd is a proud member of ABTA (membership number V7812). ABTA’s Code of Conduct requires us to maintain high service standards, and we offer access to ABTA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme and ABTA Arbitration if needed.

Whilst you’re on holiday, if something isn’t quite right, please tell your Tour Manager and the relevant hotel or supplier straight away. You can also email our team on holidayhelp@newmarketholidays.co.uk . The sooner we know, the sooner we can try to resolve the issue. Any verbal complaints should also be put in writing to your Tour Manager or supplier as soon as possible. If you don’t report a problem while you’re away, it may affect your ability to claim compensation, as we won’t have had the chance to put things right at the time. If a satisfactory resolution is not reached, please follow up in writing to our Customer Experience team at customerexperience@newmarketholidays.co.uk within 28 days of getting home. While we encourage early reporting so we can investigate effectively, your statutory rights are not affected by this timeframe. In the unlikely event that we can’t reach an amicable settlement, disputes can be referred to ABTA ADR or ABTA Arbitration, or the courts of England and Wales (or your home country if you’re in Scotland or Northern Ireland).

8. Your behaviour

By booking with us, you accept responsibility for any damage or loss you cause. This includes material damage to hotel rooms, coach or aircraft. Full payment for any damage must be made directly to the supplier or to us as soon as possible. You may also be liable for any claims subsequently made against Newmarket Holidays.

We reserve the right to end the holiday arrangements of anyone whose extreme behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of others at risk, causes damage, disrupts travel, or the general enjoyment of others on the tour. In such cases, we will have no further obligation to provide your holiday arrangements, and no refund will be due. We will, however, provide reasonable assistance to help you arrange your return home, at your own expense.

C. Our responsibility for your holiday

1. Your holiday

We promise to arrange and provide your holiday with reasonable skill and care. We’ll accept responsibility if your contracted arrangements aren’t provided as agreed, or if you suffer injury, illness or loss due to the failure of our employees, agents or suppliers to exercise reasonable care. It remains your responsibility to prove that reasonable care has not been taken if you wish to bring a claim against us.

We won’t be responsible for issues resulting from:

• Your own actions or omissions

• The actions of a third party unconnected with your holiday that were unforeseeable or unavoidable

• Services that do not form part of our contract (such as independently booked excursions)

• Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (see Section B, Clause 6)

Limits on compensation:

• For personal injury or death caused by our negligence, there is no upper limit on damages.

• For all other claims, the maximum we’ll pay is three times the total holiday cost (excluding insurance and amendment charges), and only where you’ve received no benefit from your holiday at all.

• For claims relating to international travel by air, sea or rail, our liability is limited by the relevant international conventions (e.g. Montreal Convention, Athens

Convention, COTIF). Strict time limits apply and any proceedings must generally be brought within 2 years of the relevant date.

2. Special requests and medical conditions, disabilities and reduced mobility

• Special requests should be made at the time of booking and confirmed in writing. We’ll do our best to accommodate them, but they can only be guaranteed if confirmed in writing on your Confirmation Invoice. Medical conditions, disabilities or reduced mobility must be declared at the time of booking. Please provide full written details so we can assess the suitability of the trip, make reasonable adjustments where possible and provide you with any additional information that you may require to make an informed decision yourself. If you have a requirement that is a condition of your booking, in other words you would not be able to travel without a certain request being fulfilled, we will confirm this on your booking if we are able to accommodate it. In some cases, we may be unable to accept your booking. If you fail to inform us of requirements that we later become aware of, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. It should be borne in mind that all of our tours will require a certain level of mobility and ability to embark and disembark aircraft, coaches and other modes of transport as defined.

• If you need help during your holiday due to an illness or injury unrelated to your booked arrangements, our Customer Operations team will provide advice and guidance to assist and support you.

• Safety and security: We take this very seriously and keep up to date with FCDO advice at all times. When travelling abroad, please be vigilant and take the same care of your personal safety and belongings as you would at home. For up-to-date travel advice, visit: www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

D. Before booking your holiday

1. Standards overseas

Local health, safety and quality standards at your destination may differ from UK standards. We require all hotels to comply with local regulations, and we hold our own audits to ensure that these are met.

However, we cannot guarantee that they will match British standards.

2. Travel insurance

Travel insurance is a condition of booking with us. Please ensure you have appropriate cover in place at the time of making your booking. Failure to take out a suitable policy immediately means that you could lose your deposit if you’re unable to travel for medical or other insurable reasons.

Full cover for medical reasons is also essential when you are overseas.

If you choose not to take out appropriate insurance, you accept responsibility for meeting costs that insurance would otherwise have covered.

We’re pleased to work with Holiday Extras to offer fully comprehensive travel insurance. You can find details on our website or ask our team for more information.

3. Financial protection and repatriation

Flight-inclusive holidays: Newmarket Holidays Ltd holds ATOL number 2325. When you purchase an ATOL-protected holiday, you’ll receive an ATOL Certificate listing the protected elements. If we or our suppliers are unable to provide your arrangements due to insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may step in at no extra cost to you.

Non-flight packages: We’re a member of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT), membership number 5509, which provides financial protection under the Package Travel Regulations 2018. This covers refunds if you haven’t yet travelled, and repatriation if travel was included.

Bookings made outside the UK are only protected by ABTOT when purchased directly from Newmarket Holidays Limited.

If you need assistance abroad due to our financial failure, please call ABTOT’s 24/7 helpline: 01702 811397

• Full details of the Package Travel Regulations 2018: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/634

Important information

Booking details: Please make sure all names match passports exactly — this is essential for flights and insurance. If a name changes between booking and travel (e.g. after a wedding), please let us know as soon as possible. If there’s no time to update the passport, carry your marriage certificate with it.

Delays: If services are delayed both outbound and inbound due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ll keep you fully informed and do our best to help. For extended overnight delays, we’ll endeavour to arrange accommodation where possible.

Special requests: We’ll always do our best to accommodate requests such as front coach seats or lower-floor hotel rooms, but these cannot be guaranteed.

Itinerary: Your final itinerary and departure documents will be sent 7–10 days before departure, once all payments are received. We’ll always aim to operate the itinerary as planned, but occasionally circumstances beyond our control may require minor adjustments.

Tour Plus Extensions: While some Tour Plus extensions are accompanied by your tour manager, others are hosted by a local representative or expert guide, and some are designed for independent exploration, giving you the freedom to enjoy your surroundings at your own pace.

Group sizes: Our group sizes vary depending on the destination, tour type and time of year. The maximum group size on our Classic Tours can sometimes reach 50 for the most popular departure dates, but there will often be times where this number is less. You can ask our Holiday Planners for more information based on your chosen holiday. To guarantee joining a much smaller group, we have a wide range of tours where the maximum group size is 24 (and often just 18-20):

• Small Group tours: A wide variety of tour itineraries crafted just like our Classic tours but operating with a smaller group size, enabling you to dig deeper and explore off the beaten track.

Exclusively Solos tours: A collection of itineraries designed specifically for solo travellers, with group sizes carefully balanced to foster like-minded connections.

• Premier Collection tours: A range of more intimate tours for an elevated experience where you’ll also enjoy a lighter pace and more luxurious or unique accommodations.

Flights: All prices are based on economy class travel. We reserve the right to substitute an alternative airline or aircraft if needed. Cabin upgrades on long-haul flights must be requested before the balance due date. Ryanair passengers must check in online or face airport check-in fees.

Flight timings: Timings given at booking are based on schedules available at that time and may change. Final timings will be confirmed with your departure documents — please check these carefully.

Airport transfers: To offer competitive prices and a wide choice of UK departure airports, we sometimes need to combine transfers. You may be asked to wait up to an hour at the airport for other flights, and transfers back to the airport may be up to three hours before your flight.

Fitness to travel: Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any special needs, disabilities or mobility requirements, or if you plan to bring equipment such as a wheelchair or CPAP machine. If you’ve recently had a serious medical condition, please consult your doctor before travelling. We reserve the right to request a fitness-to-fly certificate if required while you’re overseas.

Accommodation: Prices are based on two people sharing. Most rooms are twin-bedded, double beds can be requested but aren’t guaranteed. Singles are available with a supplement. Triple rooms may be available on request and at a supplement and will often comprise of two double beds. Some seasonal facilities (such as outdoor pools or air conditioning) may not be available at the start or end of season.

4. Passport, visa, immigration and health requirements

Meeting passport, visa and entry requirements is your sole responsibility. Please check requirements with the relevant embassies and consulates before booking and before you travel.

For travel to European Union countries: your passport must have at least 3 months’ validity from your return date and must be less than 10 years old on your departure date.

Please also check any vaccination or health requirements for your destination before booking.

5. EU Entry/Exit System (EES) and ETIAS EES: The EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026 and requires British nationals travelling to the Schengen area to register biometric details (fingerprints and photo) on first entry. This replaces passport stamping. Please allow extra time at border controls. The latest information can be found at https://travel-europe.europa.eu/ees. Please note that Irish passport holders and British passport holders with EU residency are currently excluded from EES registration requirements. For customers travelling via Eurostar, a dual British and French/Belgian border is in operation at St Pancras International, meaning EES processing takes place at the station, and no further border check is required on arrival at your destination.

ETIAS: From last quarter of 2026 (exact date to be confirmed), British nationals will also need an ETIAS visa waiver before travelling to the EU. This is expected to cost €20 per person and must be obtained before travel. The latest information can be found at etias.com. We’ve partnered with the Travel Visa Company to help, details here: https://thetravelvisacompany.co.uk/newmarketholidays/?sup=NMH

Extras not booked with us: We’re not responsible for costs relating to third-party services (e.g. insurance, currency, airport parking or independently booked flights) if we cancel your holiday.

Costings of holidays: The costs of your holidays have been converted into GBP using these rates:

Call costs: Calls to our 0330 and 0333 numbers are charged at the standard local rate.

FCDO travel advice: Always check the latest advice before you travel at: www.gov.uk/foreign-traveladvice and keep checking, as it can change. It’s your responsibility to stay up to date.
