“New Life Center saved my life and gave me hope for the future.”

Kyle was in foster care until age 3 when he was adopted.

“I grew up in a good Christian family. But I’ve always struggled with anger and not feeling welcome.”

His feelings of rejection continued in school, where he was bullied. To cope, he turned to alcohol and drugs. By age 14, addiction had taken over. “I got kicked off my sports teams, and I wasn’t getting good grades in school. Eventually, I got expelled.”

As he got older, his addiction escalated and he began to experience homelessness. His turning point happened after being arrested. “I sat in jail and began reading the Scripture. I started to realize that my addiction was burning bridges with my family,” he remembers. “I really looked deep into myself and knew I needed to change.”

He filled out an application for our Genesis Recovery Program and was accepted. “They welcomed me with open arms. They didn’t judge me. They hope the best for everybody who walks through the doors.”

As part of the Genesis program, Kyle found a supportive community to help him on his path to recovery. Now he is rebuilding relationships with God and his family. From case management to medical care to a solid biblical foundation, New Life Center’s holistic approach is giving Kyle the help he needs to make a change in his life.

My whole perspective has changed. I’m fully surrendering to God.

“I’m trying to fix the bridges that I burned with my family, letting them know that I have God in my life and I’m letting Him take control.”

This Christmas, Kyle is experiencing the gifts of peace and hope for a brighter future. Thank you for sharing the blessings of God’s love with him! “I hope people will support the Mission because they’re not only changing my life, they’re changing many men’s lives every day. Every hour of the day, men are being changed, converted to Jesus Christ, understanding their addiction and rebuilding healthier relationships with God.”

You share the gifts of peace and hope at Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner! We’re busy with our preparations – and I know you are too. I invite you to remember our neighbors in need for a moment...and consider what Christmas means to them.

For men experiencing homelessness, there is no moment of peace or joy. They endure constant stress… uncertain of where they can sleep safely…how they’ll stay warm…and when they’ll get their next meal.

I know your heart breaks for so many of our neighbors who feel they have little to celebrate this Christmas. That’s why your support means so much.

You can share the gifts of peace and hope with our hurting neighbors – this holiday season and beyond. When you give a meal for just $2.97, you open the doors to healing and transformation. Men like Kyle (whose story is on page 3) will experience the blessings of God’s love that restores hearts and lives.

You can join us in reflecting God’s love to our neighbors at Christmas through your compassion toward neighbors who are hungry, hurting and experiencing homelessness.

Thank you for filling hearts with peace and hope this season…and every day of the year.

For our neighbors experiencing homelessness or hunger, Christmas can feel more lonely than joyful…but YOU can share the gifts of PEACE and HOPE. Just $2.97 provides a nourishing Christmas meal – and opens the door to recovery and a fresh start this holiday season.

You can make a lasting impact for our neighbors in need using Donor-Advised Funds (DAF). And the end of the year is the perfect time to consider this unique option for giving.

Here’s how DAF works:

• Your DAF acts as a charity savings account that you can use to send money to the Mission.

• If you put money in today, you’ll get a tax deduction for 2025.

• While the money sits in the fund, it accumulates interest tax-free!

For more information, please contact Jennifer Swiers, Donor Program Manager, at jennifer.swiers@fargonlc.org or ( 701) 532-4453.
