New Life Center saved my life.

The longer time went on, freedom from addiction began to feel further and further away – like a distant dream Gene couldn’t quite grasp.

Gene had been trapped by addiction for 30 years. He desperately wanted to escape. He tried many times to find help, but he didn’t know where to go. Life on the streets didn’t give him many options.

By God’s grace, the Fargo Police Department came across Gene at the right place, at the right time and changed his life. They took him to New Life Center, where Gene found the path forward he’d been searching for.

“When the police brought me to the Mission, it was life saving. I was at rock bottom. I was overwhelmed.”

Gene finally received the help he’d wanted for so long. He began to heal physically and emotionally from his addiction, and that opened the door for Gene to examine his relationship with Jesus. He began to heal spiritually as well.

“I’ve always known that Jesus loves me,” he shares. “Jesus is a sinning man’s best friend. But I wasn’t where I needed to be in my relationship with Him.”

New Life Center gave Gene the opportunity to get back on his feet – and so much more. It gave him a place to call home and a fresh start. Now, he’s focused on his job and is looking forward to getting his own apartment.

“New Life Center gave me everything. It gave me a new lease on life. It saved my life. The staff was there for me every step of the way.”

With Jesus’ love in his heart and hope for the future, Gene is grateful for your support this Easter. “I feel like a young man who has his whole life in front of him. I’m so thankful.”

Bob Dalton, founder of Sackcloth & Ashes, has a heart for serving homeless populations after his mother found herself living on the streets. Their mission is to donate a blanket to a homeless shelter for every blanket sold.

Join us on September 19, 2023, for “The Untold Story” to hear more about Bob’s story and his goal to donate one million blankets to homeless shelters by 2024. Learn more at fargonlc.org.

THE GIFT OF Eternal Li fe

Easter is such an incredible time of year, isn’t it? A day when we’re both humbled by the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and lifted up as children of the King. It still amazes me that God goes to such great lengths to make you and me part of His family!

That’s why we’re committed to making guests feel welcome here at New Life Center. We invite them to be part of our family…and share with them the eternal hope that Jesus freely offers us all when we accept Him as our Father.

This Easter, you are sharing the blessings of love and community with everyone who comes through our doors. Through your prayers and financial gifts, you give them the strength to overcome their current challenges and start on a path toward new life.

Thank you for making this Easter a season of rejoicing. I hope your own celebrations are especially meaningful, knowing how lives are being transformed through your generosity and God’s unending grace.

Leave a lasting legacy

The joy of Easter is special for folks of all ages…but we all long for that same feeling year round. During this season when we celebrate the hope of the resurrection, consider leaving a legacy of hope that will ease burdens and offer lasting peace.

A legacy is something that begins deep within us. It needs intentionality and advance planning to bring it to life. And it must be purposefully gifted to the loved ones or charitable organizations that are dear to our heart. With some thoughtful preparation, you can create a tangible legacy this Easter.

As you reflect on what Christ’s resurrection means for your life, our prayer is that you will consider what your legacy will look like. That you will carefully craft your estate plan to reflect evidence of your legacy and heart to bless others, even after your lifetime.

If you are considering a planned or deferred gift to New Life Center, please contact Executive Director Rob Swiers at (701) 532-4441 or rob.swiers@fargonlc.org.

Thank you for sharing joy this Easter season!
