onald’s life was in New Orleans. But it was a life headed in a dangerous direction. Many of his family members had passed away from alcohol abuse, and Ronald knew that if he didn’t change, he would be next.

“I was no longer afraid of what would happen, but I was afraid of not taking action while knowing I could do something about my lifestyle,” Ronald said. “When I realized I had a way out, I decided that New Orleans was not the place for me.”

Ronald gave up his drinking and drug habits and rededicated his life to the Lord. He needed a fresh start, which he hoped to find in Fargo. But he needed some help learning to open up to people again. New Life Center was his answer.

“I always tried to avoid people before, but the Mission opened its doors to me and I was surrounded by people,” Ronald says. “I got to know a lot of people with different things going on. That helped me a lot, because I saw myself through them.”

Through daily Bible studies and with help from our staff, Ronald started opening up to others. He found peace of mind in the safety and structure offered at

the Mission.

Now, Ronald feels he has the emotional, social and spiritual tools to live and thrive in his new city of Fargo. He already has a job and is looking forward to getting a home of his own.

The Mission helped me learn to communicate with people. It was exactly what I needed.

“Before I came to the Mission, I was blank,” he says.

“I didn’t have a sense of direction. But the staff helped me. They opened their hearts to me. They have done things for me that even my family would not.”

Ronald is thankful for the kindness and compassion of loving neighbors like you – and how you have given him peace and hope for the future. “New Life Center is a gift from God for anyone who is lost spiritually or unsure of their direction, whatever their situation.”

Did you know the Bible tells us to love our neighbor in eight different verses? So clearly the Lord calls each of us to not just love, but to love generously. At New Life Center, our staff’s hearts are filled with love for those who are hurting and lost…and YOU put that love into action with your faithful support.

The summer months can be especially challenging for our neighbors in FargoMoorhead. Those living on the streets face added stress and health risks due to the heat.

Rising inflation, gas prices and other costs are making it hard for many of our neighbors to pay bills and keep food on the table.

What’s more, the summer months are when we typically see a decline in donations as people are busy with vacations and other activities…and

often forget about our struggling neighbors.

That’s why I hope we can count on you during the Love Your Neighbor campaign!

Come and be inspired! Join us for dessert, fellowship, and to hear how you are creating lifelong change for those in need.

This impactful evening will feature keynote speaker U.S. Army Chief of Chaplains Thomas Solhjem. Hear his personal journey of transformation – a journey that led him from the brink of suicide to a life in service to others. His experience includes 34 years as a chaplain, 17 of those with Special Operations. He also served nearly six years in combat.

Chaplain (Major General) Solhjem is now the spiritual leader for the entire U.S. Army, including 6,000 Chaplain Corps members that serve 1.5 million soldiers and civilians, and 4.6 million family members.
