Two Poems: Kerry James Evans

The Photograph | Boy in window I know this boy sitting on a radiator in front of an opened window. This boy, sitting on a radiator in a pair of overalls, legs crossed over a patch of light cut into the floor. I know this boy, whose shadow rests on the patch of light cut into the floor, this boy sitting on a radiator in a room with no pictures on the walls—no table, no chairs—no furniture of any kind, and I know this look, this longing. He’s looking at me now.
