Worship Space Update:
You may have noticed signs for our "Wiggle Room!" The Wiggle room is located to the left of the Sanctuary doors and is a space where you can sing, shout and wiggle in worship The Cry Room, located to the right of the Sanctuary doors, is available for those looking for a calmer space to worship. Everyone is always welcome in the pews. New Hope recognizes that sometimes sitting still is challenging, and we also need to "make a joyful noise." We hope to create welcoming spaces where all may worship with us.

Sunday Worship FAQs
Q. How will our children experience worship during the 9:00 am or 11:00 am service?
A. This is the Sunday School hour for all ages. Children join their grade level friends for a deeper dive into the Bible The Bible stories, learning, and engagement during Children's Sunday School differ from their Children's Church experience Middle School and High School Youth will gather in the Youth Room for their Sunday School conversation time Adults are encouraged to participate in a spiritual growth opportunity by attending a discipleship class. This Fall, Mark Dutton will teach a class on the peoples and cultures of the Bible, helping to tie the biblical story together with history. Kevin and Beverly Robinson will be leading a class titled "Building Successful Relationships." Everyone is always welcome to fellowship over coffee in the Narthex during this time.
On Sunday, September 18th, we will begin the new Sunday morning schedule. There will be two times to worship with us, Sunday School for all ages, time for fellowship, and many opportunities to connect and serve with the people of New Hope.
Q. Will Livestream be available for worship?
A Children (preschool 5th grade) begin worship in the sanctuary with everyone After the Children's Message, we will bless them on their way to "Children's Church" in the Fellowship Hall. What is Children's Church? It's a time for children to experience God through dynamic Bible learning and engaging worship. During Children's Church, they will sing, engage in a Bible Story, have an energetic response time, and pray together. Parents will pick their children up from the Fellowship Hall after worship. The Wiggle Room, Cry Room, and the Nursery are available for children throughout the morning.
A. Yes. We will continue to livestream worship. You will be able to view worship live at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings and any time afterward on the church's YouTube channel.
Q. What will the worship experience be at the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services?
A. The 9:00 am & 11:00 am will be as similar to one another as they can be: same scripture, same preacher, same songs, same liturgy. We also acknowledge that the Spirit of the Living God is always at work in a time of worship. With this in mind, there may be some nuanced differences as we pay attention to what the Spirit is saying to the church. The worship music will be a blended experience of contemporary songs and traditional hymns. Our music ministry team will continue to lead us in singing and meditating on "the old, old story of Jesus and his love" in new and familiar ways. Pastor Chris and Pastor Sarah will take turns preaching Sunday to Sunday. We will respond to God through generosity and prayer. The preaching of God's Word and the celebration of the sacraments (Baptism & Communion) remain central to our worship life as a congregation. We hope that when you worship at New Hope, you are able to have a fresh encounter with the living God.
Q. What opportunities are available during the 10:00 am Discipleship Hour?

High School & Middle School students who play an instrument, sing solos, or participate in the school choir or band, join our Youth Praise Teams! We’re making plans to help lead with the Worship Choir, play auxiliary percussion, and/or rotate on a Sunday Youth team this fall. There are many opportunities to serve the Lord with your gifts and specific skill if you are interested in being a part of the Youth music action.

The Worship Choir invites new singers as we launch our new fall/Christmas 2022 season! Anyone 9th grade and above is invited to join our first rehearsal kick off on Thursday, September 8th @ 7:00 pm. The Worship Choir will participate on a rotating schedule (every other Sunday) with regular rehearsals on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Childcare is available by registration.

This season marks my 16th year as the Director of Music Ministry at New Hope Church. Wow! The Lord has taught me many things over these years about working with people, learning to love and serve, but most of all, understanding that worshipping Him is our greatest priority. It has been my calling to encourage God’s people to express worship and praise to the Lord with their whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. Singing is such a powerful way to do this, and it seems our congregation has moved forward in a few of these ways. Have you noticed you are singing out more? Have you noticed your praise to Him is more exuberant? I sure have! It has encouraged our music teams to their core to hear you singing praises back from the pews to the platform. It is a picture of Psalm 34 “O Magnify the Lord with me, let us exalt His Name together!” Keep it up, New Hope family. I pray that worship remains something we do, not somewhere we go every day.

Children's Ministry

New Hope Church was buzzing with excitement and joy the first week of June as we hosted VBS for over 180 kids! The morning and evening camp sessions offered the chance for the kids to explore God’s awesomeness while forming a rock solid faith for the road ahead. Each day, the kids trekked through rotations that reinforced daily Bible Points and immersed kids in new adventures Our mission for the week was to raise $500 for The Miracle League Campers sold lemonade, earned money doing chores, and even donated from their own piggy banks to crush the goal with over $2,000 in donations! I’m so proud of their determination to serve others!
As always, New Hope showed up in a mighty way to make it a MONUMENTAL week for our campers. We had over 90 adult and youth volunteers serve throughout the week to ensure the kids were safe, had fun, and most importantly, experienced God’s Word. Thank you to the incredible team of people that made VBS possible! We’re already looking forward to VBS 2023… I can already tell you; it’s going to be out of this world!
VBS Summer 2022

As we look forward to Fall at New Hope, our Sunday morning worship schedule brings exciting changes for Children's Ministry. There will be three different program opportunities for children to attend Sunday mornings. During the 9:00 am and 11:00 am worship services, preschool through 5th graders will attend Children’s Church in the Fellowship Hall. Children's Church is church... just for kids! It's a time for preschool 5th graders to experience God through dynamic Bible learning and engaging worship. Our prayer is that Children’s Church will build a worship foundation and help kids grow a personal relationship with Jesus During the 10:00 am

Investing In Church Growing In faith Serving In Community engaging In worship
As I reflect on the last few years at New Hope, I cannot help but be astonished at all the pivoting we have had to do; pivoting as a world, as a community, as a church, and as a youth group. I look back with a sense of holy awe as I remember all the ways God has shown His faithfulness. Scripture reminds us to “remember ” Remember God’s faithfulness Remember God’s goodness Remember While we remember, scripture also encourages us to cast a vision and look toward the future with faith and hope We have been dreaming big and planning big for our upcoming program year! Everything designed for the youth of New Hope is focused on our ultimate vision for our youth to be:
“Seek

New Hope hosted the 4th annual Powell Kidsfest Back to School Bash in August. The event was organized by Kidslinked and held in our parking lot and pavilion. Over a thousand kids and adults attend each year. It is a fun and excellent outreach opportunity for New Hope.
As expected, giving has been a little up and down during the summer months. We remain in a pretty solid financial position heading into the fall, where expenses are anticipated to decrease.
We have been preparing for the upcoming 2022 2023 school year throughout this summer. We have over 175 students enrolled to attend our Preschool and Kindergarten program. Hallways have been painted, new flooring installed at the entrance, and some classroom improvements have been happening while everyone was on their summer break. The teachers are preparing the classrooms to welcome the students and parents for our Parent Orientation and playdates that are occurring before the school year begins. Our first day of school is September 6th and we can’t wait to begin another year!
Our end of the 2021 2022 school year all program celebration was a huge success, with almost all of the families attending. We had a beautiful day enjoying some fun activities and fellowship. We look forward to having this new tradition continue in the years ahead
