Key stage 2 football competition

The team did fantastic, they didn’t concede any goals and only lost on penalties in the final.

Year 3 Tennis Taster

Thursday 27th April

Venue: Selwyn Primary School Newham Parks Tennis sent down their head coach (Steve Lloyd) to give our Year 3 children a taster session.

Team Selwyn met two weightlifters getting ready to complete in this year’s Commonwealth games!

Mr.Shanahan had a few words of encouragement for Zoe and Chloe as well.

They learnt about some of the past events and put them on the a timeline.

After, they played a parachute game to learn about India, Nigeria, Canada, New Zealand and Jamaica (some of countries competing in this year’s games.

They even tried some of the sports with Minister for Children Will Quince and Secretary of State for Sport Nigel Huddleston!

Everyone who attended did us proud and learnt a lot about the up and coming Commonwealth games.

Super Sports Leaders Year 1 PE lesson Mr.Boxall needed some help, so our sports leaders came to the rescue!

They looked amazing in the sports leader uniforms.

They planned their own activities.

They organised and worked with different groups.

The Morning Mile Where:

Gates open: 08:30 Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th

How:

Children and parents join Mr.Boxall and Mr.Tyne for a walk, jog or run around the KS2 playground. What a way to start the day!

KS1 children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Swimming is a healthy activity for all ages and abilities.

This is why, in partnership with Newham Council, Atherton Leisure Centre offers

free swimming sessions to all Newham residents over the age of 60 and under the age of 16.

Please call 0300 124 0123 for up to date scheduling after 17:00 Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
