Welcome to our annual Support Staff Learning Day! We are delighted to announce that the theme for this year's event is 'Thrive.' Our primary focus is to empower you to strengthen your mental health and wellbeing through dedicated programmes designed to support your overall wellness. We believe that a thriving staff leads to thriving schools. In addition, we are committed to improving opportunities for staff training and career development, as we recognise that continuous learning and growth are essential for both personal and professional success.

Ready for take off - A Pilot's story

Matt Lindley

In 1995 Matt was selected to join the UK Royal Air Force as a pilot. During his military career, he flew many aircraft including the Hawk fighter jet. In 2000 he was selected to fly Her Majesty The Queen, members of the UK Royal Family and Government worldwide, serving on The Royal Squadron. Matt flew missions in the Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, he was one of the first openly gay pilots in the RAF. In 2007 Matt left the Service to join British Airways, flying the Boeing 777 on BAs long haul routes.
