PSHE at Eastlea

Here is an update on the PSHE/RSHE programme that is runningatEastleathisyear.Aswetrytoinstilourcorevalues into everything we do: “Be kind and respectful”; “Be ambitious”; “Act with integrity” we have designed our PSHE/RSHE curriculum with significant input from our students and from parental feedback over the last three years. The purpose of the PSHE/RSHE curriculum is to support and develop our students, as they grow to develop theirperformanceineveryaspectoftheirlives.

Our next Open Morning will be held on Saturday 28th September from 10am until 12 noon toprovideprospective year5and6parentswithanopportunitytolearnmoreabout our school. Even though you already have a child with us at Eastlea,thisisanopportunitytointroduceourschooltoyour youngerchildren.

There will be an opportunity to talk with key senior staff and pupils and learn about our vision for your children. There will also be a fun and interactive treasure hunt so parents/carers and their children can explore our amazing school facilities onaguidedtour.

Library Notices

Library Hours he library is open from 8am-5pm. Students can visit before and after school hours and during break and lunch times.

Borrowing Limits Each student is allowed to borrow one fiction/ comic and one non-fiction/ study book for 4 weeks. Pleasemakesureyoucheckifyourson/daughterhasborrowed abookandthattheyreturnitontime.

Late Books Studentsareregularlyremindedbytutorstoreturn late books, and library emails are sent to students every week thatthebookislate,remindingthemtoreturntheirbooks.

Lost and Damaged Books If a book is lost/ damaged, a fee will be charged for replacing the book. If you wish to replace the bookyourself,wearehappytoacceptreplacements.

Book Returns Please remind your son/daughter to return books on or before the due date to make them available for others.

Y7 Book Club The book club is starting on Tuesday 24th September and will be run by Mr Hibbs between 3.20pm and 4.30pm.

Multi-Faith Prayer Room We have a prayer room available for students to use everyday with a washroom.

Dyslexia Corner

Childrenwithdyslexiatendto haveweakerhandwriting skills.

This is because there can be too much overload between having to cope with spelling words and at the same time having to keep handwriting clear. To help support further there are specialist pens that canbepurchasedasshownon theright.
