Last Day of Summer Term

On the 18th and 19th of April, our Year 7s visited William Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Whileat the theatre, Year 7s were able to approach not only the stage from the yard gallery, but also had an opportunity to see the theatre from the upper and middle galleries. The event concluded with a workshop hosted by theatre directors hired by the Globe Theatre. With their guidance and expertise, Year 7s engaged in an acting workshop, re-enacting a monumental scene between Helena and Demetrius from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, which Year 7s recently completed studying.

Our Year 7s unanimously enjoyed themselves, and they conducted themselves admirably, leaving a glowing impression on theatre staff.

Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge - Newham Regional Finals

On the 24th April 2024, the Jack Petchey Foundation carried out their Newham Regional Finals at St Angela's Ursuline School, in Forest Gate. The event included an impressive array of students from all parts of Newham borough. Gurleen Singh Kaur proudly represented Eastlea Community School, delivering a powerful and heartfelt speech on the need to end judgement in our community and wider society.

Gurleen’s voice and stage presence were a standout, truly setting the bar that all other contestants needed to follow. She was joined by her family, who proudly attended the event to show their support. Gurleen showed great spirit and conviction as part of the Eastlea way.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the Scholastic Book Fair. We couldn't have done it without all your support! We sold a total of £125.69 worth of books!
