13th December Winter Concert

Year 9 Parents’ Evening On the evening of Wednesday 6th December we opened our doors to Parents and Carers for the Year 9 Parents' Evening. It was brilliant to see so many positive conversations about the Year 9 learning, engagement and attainment and would like to thank all those who attended. The evening was highly successful with valuable guidance given to students and parents on how to succeed in their subjects. Families also got a taster of life at Eastlea with samples of the wonderful food our students receive on a day to day basis. We look forward to seeing the Year 11 families for the next Parents' Evening on the 31st January 2024. For those of you who were unable to attend, please see this letter from Mr Agamemnonos concerning changes to the Year 9 team. Ms Anderson, Assistant Headteacher

Six Year 10 students recently showcased their debating prowess at Pinsent Masons law firm, taking on the challenging topic of whether teachers should be paid based on their results. In front of a distinguished panel of judges, including a senior partner at Pinsent Masons and chaired by Lord Justice Peter Jackson, a Judge in the Court of Appeal, the students delivered an exceptional performance. Despite facing tough questions from the esteemed judges, our students emerged victorious, earning commendation for their outstanding argumentation skills. Though they didn't secure a spot in the finals, the experience was invaluable, highlighting the calibre of our students' intellectual capabilities. Mr Eddy, Scholars’ Programme Coordinator

Eastlea Music Department Some of our students had a fab time with Brolly and Newham Music on Monday, exploring ideas from their show 'The Stopping Place', a play about the Roma community, with movement and music. Maybe some of them will be in the final cast! Footage from the day can be found on here on . Ms Brown, Head of Music
