On Thursday 20th March,five of our Year 7 Students went to Sarah Bonnell School to take part in the NCL Trust's Poetry by Heart competition. Leonor, Janira, Maira, Genesis, and Tahera delivered a flawlesschoralreadingofTellMe,TellMe,SarahJane,spicingitupat the end with some canon reading. Our students were absolute role models throughout, performing to a large audience consisting of theirpeers,theirteachers,parents,andalotofnotablefiguresinthe NCLcommunity.Theyleftmakingactiveplansonhowtooutperform the very cute primary school students next year. On Thursday 20th March, twenty students from years 7, 8 and 9 presented the Curiosity Club Showcase. Students have been working diligently on projects related to the question 'what do we owe the people of the past?' We had topics varying from the suffragettes, computing, the romans, fashion to famous role models. On Friday, 21st March the Year 8 Eastlea football team beat Brampton Manor 1-0.Eastlea started very strong and showed character to the end. They stuck together no matter the score. Well done to our students for this great win but also well done to them for their sporting ethos. A big well done to Jerome (Y8 student) for being a true passionate leader of the team. Our year 7 team achieved an amazing score against Royal Docks Academy. Thegameended8-1Eastleawin.Theboys’performancewasoutstandingandtheyplayed amazingly: excellent passes, crosses and shooting. On Thursday this week we were lucky enough to have KPMG come in alongside Inspire to deliver an EnterpriseworkshoptoourentireYear 9 cohort. The volunteers gave our students an insight into professional working and developed their communication, leadership and teamwork skills. Our students developed business ideas based on sustainability and presented them confidently. Well done Year 9 for your excellentwork.
