370th Anniversary Mass PREFECTS DINNER The Prefects Dinner, which was the first event in the newly refurbished St Francis Hall, took place on Monday 29 April. It was a wonderful evening to celebrate the newly announced Senior Prefects for 2013-14 and to thank the outgoing prefects who did such a great job over the past year.
Students, staff and friends of New Hall School joined with the Religious Community to celebrate the 370th year since the Foundation of the Community and School, at a special Mass, at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 27 April. The Westminster Cathedral Mass was attended by hundreds of current and former students and staff, members of the Religious Community and friends of the Community and School. Music was provided by both the Senior and Preparatory School choirs. It was a wonderful occasion that allowed everyone to celebrate the rich history of the school. See pictures from the day in our photo gallery at newhallschool.co.uk/gallery.
ESSAY COMPETITION FINAL Congratulations to Hanik Kotecha (Year 13) for reaching the final of the national ‘IF! Britain’ essay competition. Hanik’s essay, on steps to make the UK energy secure, was considered suitably strong by the panel of judges for him to be invited to attend the final awards dinner with a selection of other entrants. Although he did not win one of the headline awards, Hanik made excellent use of the opportunity provided by the event to network with business representatives. We are sure that he will combine his entrepreneurial spirit with some of these useful contacts in a successful undertaking in the future.
370TH ANNIVERSARY CD ‘A Chapter in the Story’, a CD recording of music to celebrate the 370th anniversary of the founding of the New Hall Community and School, is now available to buy for £10.00 from Mrs Warren.
