Oxbridge Success We are delighted to hear that Jan Nedvidek has been offered an unconditional place to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Christ Church and Daniel Mullens has an offer from St Hugh’s College to read Classics. Given the exceptionally strong competition for places at Oxford, this is a commendable achievement. Our congratulations go to Jan and Daniel for this richly deserved success. STUDENTS SELECTED FOR ESSEX
From the Boys’ Division, six students have been selected to represent Essex in rugby at U13 level. Congratulations to Oliver Bluck, Tom Clayton, Nicholas Cowen, Rory Inwood, William Maude and Gregory Oxlade (all Year 8). Good luck to Jake Harman (Year 8), who has a retrial. NATHAN PERFORMS AT O2 Nathan Lambert (Year 11) competed in the final of the national Open Mic UK singing competition last weekend, at London’s O2. He beat over 10,000 hopefuls to reach the final 100, competing against 32 in his age group. Nathan sang his own song, Is That What You Want?, in front of judges including music producers Mark Hill and Si Hulbert, and Radio 1 DJs Annie Nightingale MBE and Ras Kwame. Nathan gave a stunning performance and was unfortunate not to win. Many congratulations to Nathan on this amazing achievement.
