Tudor Day On Tuesday 22 January, Year 4 children were gainfully employed as Tudor apprentices, under the watchful eye of ‘Steward Lambert’. After a brief introduction, they were despatched to various stations to learn their trades. By the end of the morning, all the children were expert embroiderers, candle makers, pharmacists and calligraphers! They also learnt how to cure a headache, through drilling into the skull—no doubt, this will be a useful skill for the 21st century! Everyone was rewarded with a Tudor banquet, held in the afternoon, to celebrate the impending birth of Queen Jane’s first child. This gave Year 4 a valuable insight into the Tudor class system. In groups, everyone provided entertainment- a breathtaking selection of singing, dancing, drama and juggling. Year 4 would like to thank all the parents who kindly gave up their time to help.
WINTER WEATHER Thank you to everyone for their efforts this week and to those that were able to get into school, despite the snow and ice. Everyone had great fun playing in the snow during break times and built some super snowmen (and giant snow balls!) on the plot.
